Hushpuppi’s rise and fall story

How It All Happened

Ramon Abbas – who has 2.5 million followers on Instagram and goes by Hushpuppi – is considered by the FBI to be one of the most prominent fraudsters in the world, who faces up to 20 years in prison in the United States after he pleaded guilty to money laundering.
The BBC uses new court documents to reveal the man behind online thefts that have cost victims millions, from his humble beginnings as a Nigerian “Yahoo boy” scammer to living in luxury. The life of the so-called “Gucci billionaire master” before his arrest in Dubai.
He began his career in Oworenshaki, a poor coastal district in the northeast of Nigeria’s commercial capital, “Lagos”. Seye, a local driver, told the BBC he remembered Abbas working at the Olojojo market with his mother as a child. His father is a taxi driver.
Seye said that as he grew older, Abbas loved to spend money: “He was very generous. He used to buy beer for everyone around him. But everyone knew the source of his mysterious wealth -cybercrime, Seye said he was a “Yahoo.”
Hushpuppi’s former residence is located at No. 9, Ogunyomi Street, Oworonshoki area of Lagos 👇🏾
Yahoo Boys” are romance scammers who got their names from Nigeria’s first free email. “They came up with the idea of stealing their identities. So through identity theft, they started dating [scams]. Once a relationship was established through a fake identity, romance scammers would steal money from their online lovers.
Like many Yahoo Boys, Abba broadened his criminal horizons. Many went to Malaysia, followed by Abbas, finally arriving in Kuala Lumpur around 2014 and then Dubai in 2017. Since then, his Instagram posts and crimes have reportedly leveled up.
In February 2019, he attempted to launder 13 million euros (£11 million; $15 million) stolen from the Bank of Valletta in Malta by a North Korean hacking gang, Abigail Mamo said the theft took a nosedive and left the tourist island in “chaos”, with shopping carts full of items left at the checkout when the payment system was shutdown.
“We have received calls from members informing us They are using the Valletta Bank platform to send money to foreign suppliers”, said Mrs. Mamo. the money… We are talking about thousands of euros. ” The bank said it had successfully recovered 10 million euros.
“Damn,” Abbas said in a text to a fellow scammer at the time in messages obtained by the FBI. The reply shows the next heist was being planned: “Next one is in few weeks; will let you know when it’s ready. Too bad they caught on, or it would have been a nice pay out.”
In May 2019, Abbas was tasked with setting up a bank account in Mexico.
It was to receive £100m from a Premier League Football Club, and £200m from a UK firm. Neither are named in the court documents. The scams were to be carried out via Business Email Compromise (BEC).
Terrifyingly simple, BEC works by intercepting payments via fake emails that appear to come from an address that is almost exactly the same as the supplier’s. Only a single letter or number will be different.
In that email the scammers – posing as a supplier awaiting payment – typically say they’ve switched banks, so the payment will need to be wired to a different account; the details for which they will provide.
The accounts clerk is fooled into thinking it is a legitimate request from the supplier – and, with a single click of a mouse, vast sums of money are lost.

BREAKING NEWS: BROADCAST BY HIS EXCELLENCY BOLA AHMED TINUBU, PRESIDENT AND COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA ON THE NATIONWIDE PROTEST

DATE: SUNDAY 4TH AUGUST 2024

My fellow Nigerians,

1. I speak to you today with a heavy heart and a sense of responsibility, aware of the turmoil and violent protests unleashed in some of our states.

2. Notably among the protesters were young Nigerians who desired a better and more progressive country where their dreams, hopes, and personal aspirations would be fulfilled.

3. I am especially pained by the loss of lives in Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna and other states, the destruction of public facilities in some states, and the wanton looting of supermarkets and shops, contrary to the promise of protest organisers that the protest would be peaceful across the country. The destruction of properties sets us back as a nation, as scarce resources will be again used to restore them.

4. I commiserate with the families and relations of those who have died in the protests. We must stop further bloodshed, violence and destruction.

5. As President of this country, I must ensure public order. In line with my constitutional oath to protect the lives and property of every citizen, our government will not stand idly by and allow a few with a clear political agenda to tear this nation apart.

6. Under the circumstances, I hereby enjoin protesters and the organisers to suspend any further protest and create room for dialogue, which I have always acceded to at the slightest opportunity. Nigeria requires all hands on deck and needs us all - regardless of age, party, tribe, religion or other divides, to work together in reshaping our destiny as a nation. To those who have taken undue advantage of this situation to threaten any section of this country, be warned: The law will catch up with you. There is no place for ethnic bigotry or such threats in the Nigeria we seek to build.

7. Our democracy progresses when the constitutional rights of every Nigerian are respected and protected. Our law enforcement agencies should continue to ensure the full protection of lives and properties of innocent citizens in a responsible manner.

8. My vision for our country is one of a just and prosperous nation where each person may enjoy the peace, freedom, and meaningful livelihood that only democratic good governance can provide – one that is open, transparent and accountable to the Nigerian people.

9. For decades, our economy has remained anaemic and taken a dip because of many misalignments that have stunted our growth. Just over a year ago, our dear country, Nigeria, reached a point where we couldn’t afford to continue the use of temporary solutions to solve long-term problems for the sake of now and our unborn generations. I therefore took the painful yet necessary decision to remove fuel subsidies and abolish multiple foreign exchange systems which had constituted a noose around the economic jugular of our Nation and impeded our economic development and progress.

10. These actions blocked the greed and the profits that smugglers and rent-seekers made. They also blocked the undue subsidies we had extended to our neighbouring countries to the detriment of our people, rendering our economy prostrate. These decisions I made were necessary if we must reverse the decades of economic mismanagement that didn’t serve us well. Yes, I agree, the buck stops on my table. But I can assure you that I am focused fully on delivering the governance to the people - good governance for that matter.

11. In the past 14 months, our government has made significant strides in rebuilding the foundation of our economy to carry us into a future of plenty and abundance. On the fiscal side, aggregate government revenues have more than doubled, hitting over 9.1 trillion Naira in the first half of 2024 compared to the first half of 2023 due to our efforts at blocking leakages, introducing automation, and mobilising funding creatively without additional burden on the people. Productivity is gradually increasing in the non-oil sector, reaching new levels and taking advantage of the opportunities in the current economic ambience

12. My dear brothers and sisters, we have come this far. Coming from a place where our country spent 97% of all our revenue on debt service; we have been able to reduce that to 68% in the last 13 months. We have also cleared legitimate outstanding foreign exchange obligations of about $5billion without any adverse impact on our programmes.

13. This has given us more financial freedom and the room to spend more money on you, our citizens, to fund essential social services like education and healthcare. It has also led to our State, and Local Governments receiving the highest allocations ever in our country’s history from the Federation Account.

14. We have also embarked on major infrastructure projects across the country. We are working to complete inherited projects critical to our economic prosperity, including roads, bridges, railways, power, and oil and gas developments. Notably, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Highway projects will open up 16 connecting states, creating thousands of jobs and boosting economic output through trade, tourism and cultural integration

15. Our once-declining oil and gas industry is experiencing a resurgence on the back of the reforms I announced in May 2024 to address the gaps in the Petroleum Industry Act. Last month, we increased our oil production to 1.61million barrels per day, and our gas assets are receiving the attention they deserve. Investors are coming back, and we have already seen two Foreign Direct Investments signed of over half a billion dollars since then.

16. Fellow Nigerians, we are a country blessed with both oil and gas resources, but we met a country that had been dependent solely on oil-based petrol, neglecting its gas resources to power the economy. We were also using our hard-earned foreign exchange to pay for, and subsidise its use. To address this, we immediately launched our Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (CNG) to power our transportation economy and bring costs down. This will save over two trillion Naira a month, being used to import PMS and AGO and free up our resources for more investment in healthcare and education.

17. To this end, we will be distributing a million kits of extremely low or no cost to commercial vehicles that transport people and goods and who currently consume 80% of the imported PMS and AGO.

18. We have started the distribution of conversion kits and setting up of conversion centres across the country in conjunction with the private sector. We believe that this CNG initiative will reduce transportation costs by approximately 60 per cent and help to curb inflation.

19. Our administration has shown its commitment to the youth by setting up the student loan scheme. To date, 45.6billion Naira has already been processed for payment to students and their respective institutions

20. I encourage more of our vibrant youth population to take advantage of this opportunity. We established the Consumer Credit Corporation with over N200billion to help Nigerians to acquire essential products without the need for immediate cash payments, making life easier for millions of households. This will consequently reduce corruption and eliminate cash and opaque transactions. This week, I ordered the release of an additional N50billion Naira each for NELFUND – the student loan, and Credit Corporation from the proceeds of crime recovered by the EFCC

21. Additionally, we have secured $620million under the Digital and Creative Enterprises (IDiCE) – a programme to empower our young people, creating millions of IT and technical jobs that will make them globally competitive. These programmes include the 3Million Technical Talents scheme. Unfortunately, one of the digital centres was vandalised during the protests in Kano. What a shame!

22. In addition, we have introduced the Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA); the Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA); and the National Youth Talent Export Programme (NATEP).

23. Also, more than N570 billion has been released to the 36 states to expand livelihood support to their citizens, while 600,000 nano-businesses have benefitted from our nano-grants. An additional 400,000 more nano-businesses are expected to benefit.

24. Furthermore, 75,000 beneficiaries have been processed to receive our N1million Micro and Small Business single-digit interest loans, starting this month. We have also built 10 MSME hubs within the past year, created 240,000 jobs through them and 5 more hubs are in progress which will be ready by October this year.

25. Payments of N1billion each are also being made to large manufacturers under our single-digit loans to boost manufacturing output and stimulate growth.

26. I signed the National Minimum Wage into law last week, and the lowest-earning workers will now earn at least N70,000 a month.

27. Six months ago in Karsana, Abuja, I inaugurated the first phase of our ambitious housing initiative, the Renewed Hope City and Estate. This project is the first of six we have planned across the nation's geopolitical zones. Each of these cities will include a minimum of 1,000 housing units, with Karsana itself set to deliver 3,212 units

28. In addition to these city projects, we are also launching the Renewed Hope Estates in every state, each comprising 500 housing units. Our goal is to complete a total of 100,000 housing units over the next three years. This initiative is not only about providing homes but also about creating thousands of jobs across the nation as well as stimulating economic growth.

29. We are providing incentives to farmers to increase food production at affordable prices. I have directed that tariffs and other import duties should be removed on rice, wheat, maize, sorghum, drugs, and other pharmaceutical and medical supplies for the next 6 months, in the first instance, to help drive down the prices.

30. I have been meeting with our Governors and key Ministers to accelerate food production. We have distributed fertilisers. Our target is to cultivate more than 10 million hectares of land to grow what we eat. The Federal Government will provide all necessary incentives for this initiative, whilst the states provide the land, which will put millions of our people to work and further increase food production. In the past few months, we have also ordered mechanized farming equipment such as tractors and planters, worth billions of Naira from the United States, Belarus, and Brazil. I can confirm to you that the equipment is on the way.

31. My dear Nigerians, especially our youth, I have heard you loud and clear. I understand the pain and frustration that drive these protests, and I want to assure you that our government is committed to listening and addressing the concerns of our citizens.

32. But we must not let violence and destruction tear our nation apart. We must work together to build a brighter future, where every Nigerian can live with dignity and prosperity.

33. The task before us is a collective one, and I am leading the charge as your President. A lot of work has gone into stabilising our economy and I must stay focused on ensuring that the benefits reach every single Nigerian as promised.

34. My administration is working very hard to improve and expand our national infrastructure and create more opportunities for our young people.

35. Let nobody misinform and miseducate you about your country or tell you that your government does not care about you. Although there have been many dashed hopes in the past, we are in a new era of Renewed Hope. We are working hard for you, and the results will soon be visible and concrete for everyone to see, feel, and enjoy.

36. Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation. The economy is recovering; Please, don’t shut out its oxygen. Now that we have been enjoying democratic governance for 25 years, do not let the enemies of democracy use you to promote an unconstitutional agenda that will set us back on our democratic journey. FORWARD EVER, BACKWARD NEVER!

37. In conclusion, security operatives should continue to maintain peace, law, and order in our country following the necessary conventions on human rights, to which Nigeria is a signatory. The safety and security of all Nigerians are paramount.

38. Thank God -- and Thank you for your attention, and may God continue to bless our great Nation. Thank you very much.
Education / The Story Of Kudirat Abiola, The Wife Of MKO Abiola. by Overseer0(m): 4:31pm On Jul 29
Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, a political and social activist back in her days, she’s the amazing wife of late business mogul and respected politician, Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!
She struggle effortlessly and tireless to give her husband, M.K.O Abiola an outstanding support, when he was incarcerated which led to her untimely death.
On the 4th of June, 1996, Kudirat Abiola was assassinated by some gunmen in Lagos who allegedly acted on the orders of the Sani Abacha’s military junta. Who was once friends with her husband.
Backend Story:

Following the President Ibrahim Babangida annulled on the 12 of June, 1993 election, which had M.K.O Abiola as the winner, several chaos ensued across the country, especially in the southwest.
This led to the demise of President Babangida’s military regime and the birth of the Shonekan-led Interim National Government on the 26th of August, 1993.
Before Babangida stepped down from power, he set up an Interim Government which was to oversee the transition of power to a democratically elected government.
M.K.O Abiola did not support the Interim Government as it had no plan of restoring him as the president of Nigeria. The Interim National Government was later sacked by Gen. Sani Abacha in November 1993.
At first, M.K.O Abiola supported Sani Abacha’s military regime hoping Abacha would return the mandate to him, but when the Abacha refused to do so, M.K.O Abiola went ahead to declare himself as the President on the 11th of June, 1994. Twelve days later, he was arrested and charged with treasonable felony.
Kudirat Abiola spearheaded oil workers’ strike against the government which lasted 12 months. She also gathered market women, students and civil servants to fight for their electoral right which was denied on June 12, 1993.
Her efforts to get her husband out of jail and restore his mandate brought her across the line of Abacha’s military government. Unknowingly to Kudirat Abiola, she had been marked for assassination by an unknown cabal.
Alhaja Kudirat Abiola was in a white Mercedes Benz driven by her driver, Dauda Atanda, and accompanied by her special assistant, Lateef Shofolahan. It was around 9:30 am on the streets of Lagos, she was going for an appointment at the Canadian High Commission.
As her car slowed down on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway past the 7-Up bus stop on Oregun Road in Ikeja, two cars double-crossed them and six heavily armed men opened fire on Kudirat Abiola’s car.
The gunmen shot at close range and Kudirat’s driver got his mouth and shoulder pierced by a bullet while Kudirat, their main target, was hit in the forehead and instantly lost consciousness.
She was rushed to the Eko Hospital on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way in Ikeja, Lagos where she eventually died between 12:15 and 12:30 pm. However, Kudirat’s personal assistant, Lateef Shofolahan, escaped the attack unhurt. He was later accused of being involved in the murder plot of Kudirat Abiola.
After the assassination, The Abacha military government offered the sum of $45,000 to anyone who could give information leading to the arrest of the assassins.
Later, Hamza Al-Mustapha, the chief security officer of General Sani Abacha, was accused and convicted. Investigations into the killing traced the killers’ bullets to his (Hamza Al-Mustapha) personal armoury.
In October 1988, Hamza Al-Mustapha and Mohammed Abacha, Gen. Abacha’s son, appeared before the court, both charged with the death of Kudirat Abiola.
Mohammed Abdul, one of the assassins, narrated how the Abiola’s network was penetrated through Lateef Shofolahan, and how Mohammed Abacha gave him and other gunmen $10,000 to flee the country when Obasanjo’s government began an investigation on Kudirat Abiola’s assassination.

Education / A Notorious Criminal That Terrorized Eastern Nigeria by Overseer0(m): 7:14am On Jul 25
Here’s the story of “DERICO” and how he was captured by the Bakassi boys.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!
Born as Okwudili Ndiwe, 22yrs old, aka (Derico Nwamama), hailing from Onitsha, Anambra state, he transformed from a pickpocket to a dreaded crime king After DERICO killed Chiejina another hoodlum before Derico rose to prominence, he hailed from Aguleri, Anambra state.
Derico operated mainly from Abuja but only visited the east to unleash terror. After his successful operations he would return to his base with his loot, safe on the laps of power, luxury and comfort.
Derico once used the towns of Ụmụleri, in Anambra as well as Agbor in Delta states as his main hideouts. From there he would send letters threatening the police for killing men of his gang.
He placed a great trust in the charms prepared for him by the native doctors and always boasted of his invincibility; that no man born of woman could kill him.
Deri as was also called, robbed banks, carted away millions of Naira and killed many in the process. He & his sinister gang also robbed luxurious inter-state buses. On Dec. 2000, Derico attacked a 59-seater bus coming from Lagos at the popular Upper Iweka in Onitsha.
After robbing the passengers he decided to kill all of them. Only four survived. That was the height of it all. The then Governor of Anambra state; Chinwoke Mbadinuju (Odera), had no solution to the menace of Derico because he was said to be invisible and could not be arrested.
In May 2001, the Anambra State Police Command officially launched “Operation Derico”, a manhunt aimed at capturing the rampaging Derico and his gang members at all costs. The police arrested some of Derico’s men, most importantly, Amobi, his bike driver but he was still elusive as he kept robbing, killing at will and kidnapping people for a ransom.
With the failure of Police and other security forces to capture Derico Nwamama, Governor Mbadinuju brought in BAKASSI BOYS. In June 2001, Derico attacked a Police station to acquire weapons for a bank robbery in Asaba.
He also began to work with other gangs to execute more daring robberies.
A certain morning the well prepared Nigerian Police and the Bakassi Boys turned the heat up on him. They stormed his Abuja residence unannounced and raided it, he escaped, but two of his trusted warriors were killed in the operation.
Desperate, Derico chose a nomadic way of living as he sensed that his life was in a serious danger with the Bakassi Boys involvement.

Education / The Story Of The Late Arushi Okuzu (joneb Holiday) by Overseer0(m): 7:47am On Jul 21
He was a very rich and influential man in Eastern Nigeria. oliver de coques sang songs in praise of him. The late Igwe John Ejikeme Nebeolisa Was once one of the most popular millionaires in the East in the 1990s.
He is known to be a close friend of Victor Okafor, also known as “eze-ego”, which means “Money King” in the Igbo language. John Nebeolisa in his prime was everything any man could wish to be in life, expensive cars like limousines, Porsches, Peugeot chassis, he came with bodyguards and a fleet of cars, whatever was popular in the 1990s, called it John Nebeolisa aka Joneb Had It All.
Joneb has businesses across the Eastern Region and owns many properties in Lagos and abroad. His business encompasses hotels, travel agencies and other controversial establishments.
At the time, he was making a lot of money from his controversial business, but spending it seemed outdated. The late king of highlife music, Oliver de Coque, sang to the heavens on his album.
At some point, he dedicated a costume album to his boss, the ever-popular Joneb Holiday. Despite all this wealth and power, Joneb is still not satisfied with what he has achieved as a multimillionaire at the age of forty.
Controversial businessman Joneb wants more power and fame as he faces the long tradition of Igbo land, especially Anambra State, and declares his intention to become a native Oyi of Anambra King of Okuzu town in the government area.
After the death of Aganama IV, the throne was forcefully taken by the late King John Niboolisa. Most of the elders, dignitaries and the Igwe council in the town thought the multi-millionaire was bluffing until he burst into their homes one by one with a bag full of naira notes that anyone opposing his ambition has ever seen in their entire generation.
Joneb was so rich that he practically bought the throne with his money.
Education / The Story Of “EZE EGO” In Igbo Land His Life And Cause Of Death. by Overseer0(m): 8:04pm On Jul 17
Victor Okafor is a name that many people will not remember during the initial hearing. In fact, some people may not even think there is anything special about the name. But once the name Ezego is added, past generations not only begin to remember, but to reminisce. Ezego was one of the few influential and wealthy men of his time.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!
What’s more, he is relatively the youngest person to have so much money, popularity, wealth and reputation in the business world. In his time he was often called by several names. Victor Okafor is an indigene of Uzoakwa, Ihiala State, Anambra State.
He was born on December 25, 1964 and his story is a typical example of going from base to elegance. He received his primary education at Uzoakwa Primary School but was forced to abandon his studies….
He received his secondary education at Abbott Boys’ High School, Ihiala, and eventually went into business. His childhood was very traumatic and his father disowned him when he was arrested for being part of a gang of thieves which showed traders of Onitsha hell on earth.
To escape arrest for his criminal activities, he fled to the village of Umumeni. From here he traveled to his mother’s village, Umudulu. However, things are difficult in Umudulu. So, in 1989, he decided to move to Lagos where… he joined a mentor.
Now, this is where things got dark. After spending a lot of time in Lagos, not much seemed to have happened . Then, suddenly, boom!!! The name Ezego began to spread like wildfire. As it appears, he’s already a multimillionaire and a very prominent person. It was said that he performed the Ọgu ego (money ritual) that allowed him to accumulate so much wealth.
In Lagos, he built Ezego Mall on Allen Avenue (which also had a branch in Abuja) and Ezego Plaza on Murtala Muhammed International Airport Road. From there, he operates and controls one of the largest electronics stores in Nigeria.
His other companies include Vic-Winners International Limited, Ezego Nigeria Limited, Ezego Holdings Limited, Vitex Zinc Co. Limited and Ezego Properties Limited. Due to the wealth he strangely found, Ezego was able to build several houses, villas and mansions across the country.
In fact, one of the houses is made of glass. In 1999, Ezego owned property outside Ihiala worth about N5 billion. His villa in Ihiala is very large, worth N500 million, and the marble used for the walls is imported from Italy. That’s not all, Victor has one of the largest private garages in Africa. He is a car enthusiast.
Therefore, He always buys the latest vehicles and stores them in his garages in Ihiala and Lagos. At one point, his garage alone was worth almost a billion naira. He once spent 14 million naira on just two luxury cars: a Lincoln Continental Mark 8 sedan and a Mercedes Benz R230 convertible from Moontrends.
In fact, at the time of his death, he left behind several high-end cars, 70 houses in Nigeria and abroad, and bank accounts worth billions of naira. He was married to the fair-complexioned and beautiful Laurita Nkechi, a princess of Akata in Imo State, and they had eight children.
Furthermore, he had children with other women besides his wife Nkechi. After Ezego’s death, a huge controversy broke out among his family. Although Ezego’s life was mysterious and controversial, his death was even more so.
The rich man passed away on December 25, 1999, at the age of 34. Keeping with his usual tradition, he prepared to travel to his hometown of Ihiala, where he would bless many people with his generosity and impress them with his wealth. It was gathered that before returning home, Ezego visited Afrikan Shrine where he met Femi Kuti to ensure everything will go well.
The party was scheduled to start on Christmas Eve and last until Boxing Day (26th), so Ezego decided to leave Lagos on December 23rd. But little did he know that all his efforts were in vain. He was unconsciously planning his own funeral.
But What Exactly Happened?

Ezego usually flies from Lagos to Enugu and then travels to Ihiala in a convoy. However, the number of people killed in plane crashes during this period reportedly changed his mind. For the tycoon, the results were disastrous.

Education / How The Music Legend “OLIVER DE Coque’s” Most Kept Secret Lead To His Death by Overseer0(m): 7:20pm On Jul 13
This is a story of How OLIVER DE COQUE’s most kept secret took him to an early grave as told by his son. (April 14, 1947 – June 20, 2008. Age: 61)
Chief Dr. Oliver Sunday Akanite popularly known as Oliver De Coque was a Nigerian highlife musician and guitarist who has more than 50 albums to his credit and whose career lasted over 4 decades,
making him one of the most popular highlife kings in Africa. Oliver and his music band group, ‘Ogene Sound Super of Africa’ blended modern highlife and traditional Igbo music.
The music star had 12 kids; 7 boys and 5 girls and they all enjoyed their father’s presence. “It was awesome. My siblings and I didn’t see him as a famous person. He was a normal, caring, jovial and loving dad to us,” Darlington Akanite, one of his sons disclosed.
While growing up, Oliver was popularly called, ‘The Game Master’ because he was good at the game of Draft. Draft in Igbo language is ‘Okwe.’ So, People began to call him ‘Oliver Di ka Okwe.’ He then changed the name to sound more like a French name; that was how he came up with, ‘Oliver De Coque.’
HIS SIGNATURE LOOK

He loved to buy clothes and spent a lot of money maintaining his looks. Infact, he spent N30,000 on his beard weekly and that amounted to N120,000 monthly.
He visited his Salon twice a week and always said his beard was his Signature look. He said that if someone decided to keep a beard, it was right to maintain it.

Education / The Odi Massacre That Happened In Bayelsa In The Year 1999 by Overseer0(m): 7:20pm On Jul 06
Timaya Sang about it in his song “Dem mama”.

The Odi Massacre occurred on November 20, 1999, by the Nigerian military on the predominantly ljaw town of Odi in Bayelsa State.”
The Odi Massacre took place in the context of an ongoing conflict in the Niger Delta, involving disputes over indigenous rights to oil resources and environmental Concerns.

Many attribute say that the massacre was ordered by the regime of former president Olusegun Obasanjo.
The military on the other hand, has often Claimed its action in response to an ambush on its way to Odi. As a result, escalating tensions rose before entrance into the village.
Before the massacre, a gang murdered twelve members of the Nigerian police near Odi, with seven killed on November 4 and the rest in the subsequent days.
In retaliation, the military opted to invade the village, Reports suggest that the army faced ambushed close to the village thus tensions soared.
Despite the ambush the military broke through and engaged in a firefight with armed militias in the village who were believed to be using the civilian population as cover.
This and the “ambush” provocation led to the attack on the civilian population and the town’s buildings. Every building in the town except the bank, the Anglican church and the health centre was burned to the ground.

Here’s the Story of the Cathedral Church of Christ, Lagos Nigeria 🇳🇬
The Cathedral Church of Christ Marina, Lagos is an Anglican cathedral on Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria. The foundation stone for the first cathedral building was laid on 29 March 1867 and the cathedral was established in 1869.
Construction of the current building was designs by an architect Bagan Benjamin which started on 1 November 1924. The foundation stone was laid by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII) on 21 April 1925.

It was completed in 1946 In 1976 the relics of Rev Dr Samuel Ajayi Crowther, a former enslaved Yoruba man who became the first African bishop in the Anglican Church, were translated to the cathedral.
There is a cenotaph erected as a memorial of him It is popularly known as the Cathedral Church of Christ Marina, and is the oldest Anglican cathedral in the Church of Nigeria.

At various times in its history, the cathedral was the seat of the archbishop of the Province of West Africa, the seat of the archbishop and primate of All Nigeria and the seat of the archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos.
It is currently the seat of the Bishop of Lagos.
The organ was built by Oberlinger Orgelbau, Germany on right side of the altar with two façades – one looking to the altar and second looking to the right nave. One of the sections, Antiphonal, is located at the organ loft above the main entrance to the church.
At the beginning of 21st century the whole instrument was renewed (and console rebuilt) by English company Harrison & Harrison; it consists 64 stops on 4 manuals and a pedalboard. It is the largest organ in Nigeria.
In 1969, then president of Nigeria, Yakubu Gowon married Miss Victoria Zakari, at a ceremony officiated by Seth Irunsewe Kale at the Cathedral.

Education / The First Plane Crash In Nigeria In April 1942 by Overseer0(m): 11:21pm On Jun 26
The first plane crash in Nigeria happened on April 12, 1942, in a quiet town of Ikogosi, in Ekiti State. The mountain called Igboilapa. Aside from being famous for being a popular tourist spot with hot and cold springs, Ikogosi is also the first place in Nigeria to have a plane crash.
How Did The Accident Happen?

During World War II, a cargo plane carrying weapons and ammunition, including explosives, crashed in Igboilapa, Ikogosi. Explosives continued to go off for several hours, making the incident even more deadly.
This set fire to the entire Igbo Irapa, now known as Igbo Balu (Aircraft Forest), and destroyed everything in the environment. We speculate that the pilot went to great lengths to maneuver the plane and crash into a wooded hill instead of a quiet town, which would have resulted in multiple deaths and property damage.
In December 2012, Pa Olu Adeniyi, one of the community elders who claimed to have witnessed the horrific incident, told Premium Times that the plane crashed at around 8:15 pm. loud noises all night.
To this day, two riddled engines and other parts of the aircraft’s fuselage can still be found on the mountain.
Sports / N’golo Kante Is The Nicest Man In Football. by Overseer0(m): 2:21am On Jun 25
He drives a banged up old Mini, does his shopping at Asda, and meets up with fans to play FIFA.
As the midfield maestro lights up Euro 2024, here's the story of football's loveliest bloke... Our story begins in the Parisian suburbs, where a teenage Kante stars in the youth team of local side JS Suresnes.

But he's half the size of his teammates...

When he wins a player of the tournament award, the mini midfielder (far left) looks on as his pals hoist his trophy. After being rejected by a string of Ligue 1 clubs, he signs for Boulogne on an amateur contract.

He turns out for the 3rd division side while travelling to training on a kids scooter.

Alongside football, he takes evening classes and qualifies as an accountant. After signing for Leicester in 2015, Kante's teammates have to talk him out of running several miles to training every day.

And he befriends a Leicester-supporting barber at a local mosque, regularly popping into his salon - Suez Canal Hairstylz - for £10 trims. After agreeing not to run to work, Kante decides to invest in a new motor.

While his teammates opt for Bentleys and Range Rovers, Kante goes for a cream Mini Cooper.

He even carries on driving it to matches after pranging the wing mirror on a lorry. And he was still driving it years later...

When young Leicester academy player Cedric Kipre is kicked out of his apartment, Kante lets the Frenchman and his brother come and live with him for a month.

"It was really nice of him" Kipre explains, "There is nobody more humble than N'Golo."After signing for Chelsea, the club offer to pay Kante's wages into an offshore account.

But he insists on receiving them to his regular bank so he can pay his full taxes. Despite earning £290,000 a week, Kante does his weekly shop at Asda, scouring the aisles for 2-for-1 deals.

And he wouldn't be spotted dead with a gold leaf tomahawk steak: he'd prefer dough balls and a Sloppy Giuseppe at Pizza Express instead. And when he pops into another London restaurant, the owner is so enamoured by the Chelsea midfielder that he invites him to his daughter's wedding.

Kante turns up in his best cardigan, and spends the evening posing for pictures and chatting with guests. After missing his Eurostar to Paris, Kante finds a mosque near Kings Cross for his evening prayers.

He bumps into an Arsenal fan, who invites him round for dinner.

Kante goes home with the bloke and they order a curry, play FIFA, and watch him on Match Of The Day. He bumps into another Arsenal supporter hours after Chelsea's 3-2 win against the Gunners.

When the fan explains his disappointment, Kante apologises to him for the result. He still has a ruthless streak though... On international duty with France, Kylian Mbappe catches him cheating at Uno.

Kante later admits he uses "some little strategies" to win...

And he rage quits when 4-0 down in a FIFA game against Callum Hudson-Odoi... When France lift the World Cup, their joyous players take it in turns to parade the trophy around the pitch.

But Kante is too shy to ask for a turn.

So Steven N'Zonzi grabs the trophy and thrusts it into the midfielder's arms. When a reporter asks Kante about claims he's the "nicest man in football", the midfielder laughs and brushes it off.

“I always try to give my best... That's not because I'm nice or something. I'm just myself.”

Never change, N'golo...

Education / How The “mammy Market” Came About. by Overseer0(m): 7:44pm On Jun 22
Every military camp and NYSC camp in Nigeria has a place called “Mammy Market”.
Think about where it got its name?
The place close to the military camp is where soldiers communicate and buy daily necessities, called the Mammy Market. The name “Mammy” market comes from a woman named Mammy Ochefu who lived in Enugu in 1955.
She was the wife of the late military governor of the defunct East Central State, Col. Anthony Aboki Ochefe, where she supported her family by selling a local non-alcoholic drink called enyi.
After she stayed home for a week due to complaints that the drink attracted flies, pressure from customers prompted a lieutenant colonel to build her a kiosk to make it more conducive to drinking.
Her family was later posted to Abeokuta, from Enugu, but Mammy continued the business wherever they were posted, while adding snacks that were of interest to the soldiers.
Interestingly, whenever her family moved to another state, she would give the business to women who were interested but asked to keep the names.
Mammy registered her business in 1971 as “Mammy Market”. By the time her husband retired, the business had grown into a supermarket and a transportation business.
So far, whenever a military camp is built, there will be a mammy market. Nysc camps also have mommy markets.

6. Wike saw Sim's boldness to forcefully change his signature on the state's budgetry account as pride and asked the lawmakers he kept there to impeach Sim. At which process guns were shot at Sim.
7. Sim with a made up mind decided to face the reality on ground (war of survival).
8. Sim faced with existencial war, still begged for peace & made himself available for peace, Wike told him that his mind is made up and that the only way to make peace is that he resigns & step down but if he refuse he'll remove all his commisioners & wreck his government and still remove him as the governor by force.
9. Sim fully knows that stepping down would end him up in EFCC jail, now decides to save his reputation.
10. Despite Sim's struggles, he succeeded in taking complete control of the state's accounts in 2024 this year.

In conclusion, Sim was and still is ready to make peace but Wike said his own mind was made up. There's no Tinubu hand in it

There's nobody like Tinubu behind Sim. Wike was the governor of Rivers for 8 years and everybody knows who he is. He brought in Sim so that he'd continue to rule. Let me just hint you the background of the problem.
1. Sim became governor while Wike's signature remained the signatory to the state's budgetry account. Sim kicked off projects and have to seek permit to get fund.
2. Sim is the governor but has to seek Wike's approval for employment.
3. Sim begged his boss to just allow him get a say in employment of his own people especially people that will cook for him and run some programmes for him. Wike told him that it's unnecessary, and should manage the ones he kept there.
4. Wike made moves to collect 60% of state's allocated funds for himself. This would term sim as a criminal when he leaves office.
5. Sim, in order to save his name owing that he was wanted by EFCC still due to Wike's fraud, now wants to save himself.

Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 was on a scheduled domestic passenger flight. The flight was between Abuja and Port Harcourt. The captain of the McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32 was Benjamin Adekunle Adebayo.
He was a 48-year-old pilot with a total flying experience of 10,050 hours with 1,900 of them on the DC-9. At about 14:08 local time, the aircraft crash-landed at Port Harcourt International Airport.
The aircraft was carrying 110 people when it crashed while landing in stormy weather in the oil city of Port Harcourt. The plane slammed into the ground and burst into flames.
Out Of the 103 passengers and 7 crew members there were only two survivors, although seven survivors were initially rescued. Many passengers survived the initial impact but died in the resulting fire, Other passengers later died from their injuries.
Port Harcourt Airport as at that time had one fire truck and no ambulances. None of 7 crew members survived the crash. Among the passengers were about sixty secondary school students from Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja.
Out of the 60 teenagers from the school, 59 were killed, with Kechi Okwuchi being the only survivor from her school. Kechi was treated at Milpark Hospital in Joburg, South Africa and at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston, Texas, United States.

Let’s review this…

So since the Sim Fubara and Wike f!ght started, a majority of us have observed with the wrong lens. We think it’s just a f!ght between a political godfather and his godson. But this perception is flawed.

Maybe, we are too immersed in the controversially captivating “melodrama” that we throw away our “logic cap.”

Well, Tinubu is the “unseen hand” in the f!ght and here’s why…

Tinubu is bent on stripping the powers of Wike, detaching him from his political base, and rendering him useless in Rivers state.

The end-point is to ensure that Wike lives at his mercy so that he can be a proper “errand boy” (with the likes of Sanwo-Olu). Same script is playing in Kano, against Ganduje and in Kaduna, against El-Rufai.
So, he gives these guys an illusion that they’d get federal backing. And then they go into the f!ght with this “over bloated ego.” Then, he removes himself. And they get a “stinker-brutal” fall.

Maybe, the smartest person is El-Rufai, who hasn’t fully launched a public f!ght against his stooge, Gov Sani…for obvious reasons.

Lest we forget, Tinubu is a “power-monger mafian.” Part of the characters shared by most powerful “Mafia bosses” like Aniello Dellacroce, are dominance, controlled impulsivity, narcissistic, egocentric personality. These traits can be easily traced in Tinubu.

Like how these “mafia bosses or godfathers” operate, he doesn’t and will never want “powerful men” around him. Everyone around him must submit to his “absolute dominance and control.” They only way to ensure this is to “strip them of their powers.” Now, Wike having the backing of Rivers, an insan£ly oil-rich state and Top 3 biggest voting blocs in Nigeria, is an “existential threat” to Tinubu.

This is because, Wike will come to the negotiation table with power, money boldness - and most importantly, popularity. That’s costly for Tinubu’s reign and, ultimately, his contest in 2027.

The same thing goes for Ganduje and El-Rufai, the powerful men from the KKK states, which are ranking states in Nigeria’s voting blocs. Destabilizing them and shattering their political base will leave them empty and “up for grabs.”
Already, Kastina is silent and nearly taken. Buhari and his powerful nephews - Mamman Daura and Yusuf Tunde Sabiu - have already been clipped. Tunde is at the National Intelligence Agency in London enjoying his l00t, while Daura is having a good retirement.

The battle is to drown the powerful men from Kano, Kaduna, and Rivers. It’s time up for Wike. He struggles further, he’ll be completely crushed and rubbished more - same with Ganduje and El-Rufai.

Mafians take no mercy. Their quest is territorial dominance and absolute control. If you don’t submit, you get forced to or get crushed.

Call this a conspiracy theory or whatever, the picture will be clearer in due time. Time will reveal.

Meet Kola Olawuyi,

Here’s his Story, When Kola Olawuyi passed on in 2007 at the early age of 44, a lot of good people shed tears.
The man once ruled the airwaves with his Iriri Aye radio program that I grew up to.
When it’s 8pm on Fridays in the South West, it’s normal to see a lot of people huddled up around radio sets in street corners, homes and electricians’ workshops as they listened to Kola Olawuyi’s program.
It was a weekly ritual we grew up to. Kola Olawuyi was larger than life. The number of cases he tracked down and brought to life have not been done by anyone else around here since his death. No one has had that kind of confidence since.
Reverend King’s case was brought to light by him. Churches whose owners buried people alive in their buildings as rituals to draw crowd. A lot of cases of abused children and people claiming to be witches to hurt others.
Aja ile (underground killing houses) where kidnappers’ dens were raided by him and brought to light. Blood ritual killings and ritualists in the south west.
There was a woman called Malaika that said she was God and created everyone and could do what she liked with anyone until Kola Olawuyi dragged her to light, and more.
The man was fearless and appeared unstoppable. Listening to him was scary and exciting. On one hand you admired his courage. On the other, you feared for his life.
It wasn’t surprising then that when he died, a lot of people’s default setting was “Oh, they got him finally.” Perhaps even he had that thought at the back of his mind, hence, at the end of every show, he’d always say:

Here’s Story of The Kogi Woman Who Raised Over 500 Orphans And Abandoned Children.
Nigeria is a nation full of unsung heroes and heroines. In this hustle and bustle that has come to characterize the Nigerian society, it is little surprise that we have neglected some of the most vulnerable ones in the society – the orphans and abandoned kids.
But there was one woman who did the opposite – she dedicated her life to taking care of orphans. Her name is Mama Janet Ekundayo. Ekundayo is a name in the language of the Yorubas of West Africa. It can be translated as ‘tears turned to joy’ or ‘my tears have turned to joy’. And truly, this wonderful woman turned the hot, steamy tears of many kids into unlimited joy.
Mama Ekundayo has been described as the Mother Theresa of Africa, because she dedicated most of her life to take care of orphans and abandoned children in the society.
In 2007, she adopted her 469th child, and by the year 2008; she had already cared for over 500 children. This act earned her the nickname “Olomo yeye”, which means someone with many children.
Her lifestyle projected the meaning of her name, “Ekundayo,” which is translated to mean, “tears have turned to joy” in Yoruba language.
Mama Ekundayo, who’s real name is Janet Ekundayo gave birth to five children of her own, but that did not stop her from adopting other kids because of her love for children. She enjoyed the company of little children, therefore taking care of them came naturally to her.
In 1969, Mama Ekundayo made a decision to dedicate the rest of her life to taking care of orphans and abandoned children. For over 50 years, Mama Janet Ekundayo ran the Ekundayo Orphanage Home in Isanlu Makutu, Kogi state. She has been described as one of the most influential Kogi Women of all time.
