LordReed: It's the threat of American military might that has led to its influence, and America has had to fight micro wars and proxy battles to keep that influence, including Vietnam, Korea, the Gulf Wars, Somalia, the Bay of Pigs, Afghanistan and the contra wars. China may not be fighting any kinetic wars now but that's because it is creeping into places where American influence is receding because of isolationism. The war between America and China may now not be thermal, but a showdown is inevitable because when one empire winds down, another rises to replace it and it's never always peaceful. There is an inevitable military showdown between US and China even because of Taiwan, but also because the Chinese and Americans are complete polar opposites in everything, and just like the US flexed its military might to become dominant (including nuclear-bombing Japan simply to show off its new weapons of mass destruction) so also China must wield its big guns. Why do you think Xi and Putin are spending so much on new weaponry? |

SmartyPants:Well it might not be determined if they lost any lives within the period you mentioned but it doesn't mean they didn't lose soldiers one way or the other. Since the war against the Taliban began in 2001, there have been more than 3,500 coalition deaths, of which more than 2,300 have been US soldiers. More than 450 UK troops have died. A further 20,660 US soldiers have been injured in action. The above is an excerpt from BBC six days ago |

You really think the west want freedom of speech? Common example hear in Nigeria: the North want a shari'ah law that will only work for Muslim alone, what has Christians said? Muslims countries want shari'a, there comes UN, US EU and their threats and sanctions. Is that freedom of speech or has that Muslim. Country says it would be applied to the non Muslims. For the quotes above and other related verses: in the same Qur'an, killing an innocent soul is like killing the entire human while saving one soul is like saving entire soul, Q5 verse 32 And other similar quotes from Qur'an and Hadith (sayings) of prophet of Islam |

My own take is I don't care what anyone says or opined on biden's withdrawal of troops as besides this move being personal to him(loss of his son to the war) it's just doesn't make any logical sense to be fighting for peace for people that don't want peace For how long, how much more lives to be taken? Islam na religion of war make dem continou killing and raping in the name of Allah! naptu2: |

US supposed to have stayed in Afghanistan for at least 70yrs to produce a generation already grown used to freedom and by then the many in the generation sympathetic to talliban cause would have died. The withdrawal is immature. |

YellowbaMoslem: One, name one casualty to US troops in the last 18momths? Two, it was easy because the US and Britain withdrew 2,500 military personnel which includes helicopters that were providing air support. Three, US also withdrew 16,000 private contractors responsible for operating US shipped-in helicopters, that supposed to be under the command of Afghan military commanders....... They simply woke up to meet the contractors gone and the helicopters disabled. They lost because they had absolutely no air support. The advantage of the Western military in middle Eastern conflict is not boots on the ground, its birds in the air...,,,,,.., N.B: US has 10times the number of military troops in Afghanistan in South Korea for over 70years. Imagine if they pulled out hurriedly and Kim Jong Un march down south Korea to the ground easily, you will say he won because South Korea security forces love North Korea? You sef think am |

Shimran: Yes, if you want to be a Muslim, be a Muslim. Nobody is stopping you. But implementing Sharia is against freedom of worship. Why are hisbah destroying Alcohols of non-muslims? Is buying alcohol by force? Why not be a Muslim and allow others be what they want to be? As for that quote, does it mean Koran is contradicting itself. One verse asked Muslims to kill, another one asked them not to kill. No wonder Islam is full of confusion. |

ehissi: I'm not saying that Taliban wouldn't have won even if Afghan Forces repelled them. But it was too swift. If U.S leaves South-Korea today, you and I knows that it would take Kim Jun Un over 1 year to conquer Seoul. That's if he would even conquer it. |

why did they not speak out when Trump started the move many years ago. The US government had been planning to leave. Other countries should have rallied their soldiers in Afghanistan to replace the US soldiers. Everyone is at fault here. |

YellowbaMoslem:Clearly there is no compulsion in religion (not by me nor my Malam, but Qur'an, Q2, V256) forcing to follows a certain is nowhere to be found in Islam. (That is why we urge people to go back the original source) For hisbah and co, it is body in Muslim Majority Areas ( democracy) to do anything I favour of Muslim there Pretty sure they can't work in the south even though there is little % of Muslim |

GardenOfGod:Is he not the one that made the agreement and set the timeline for withdrawer? This war is milking the US dry both in blood and cash. If they don't want the Taliban, they should rise and fight. You should wait for somebody to fight for you. And is a lesson to other other nations like Nigeria, we should protesting and running to the so called world power to help us, especially against this fulani bandits and terrorist, we should fight for ourselves. The US starts withdrawing and everybody just fold their hands and let the Taliban take over. |

YellowbaMoslem: Why wouldn't you have the contradiction/confusion Qur'an, despite been revealed in Arabic, the Arab can just read it and understand. It was revealed in the duration of over 20 years. Battles, treaties and many occasions occurred. Many of these verse you quoted regarding to killings were related to those occasions. They were quoted out of context why not the confusion. |
