I don't think so. The person on ground told her to just go there that it should be there.

Your response makes sense. Thanks I will tell her to exercise patient and look out for the collection email.

Thanks a lot.

Not sure you need to wait for an email for your BRP unless there was an issue with it which you reported in the first place. The person can go back in two weeks. When my family came last year, they went for their BRP 11 days after arrival (due to self isolation at home). When we got to the post office, they told us the BRPs were only received the day before.

Hello,

Anyone in portsmouth, or knows someone in portsmouth.

I am currently trying to get a 1 or 2 bedroom accommodation for my family in portsmouth. Getting accommodation for family is quite a challenge. Anyone that can help in any way, be it share or apartment transfer should please get in touch.

Many thanks.

Viruses:

I wanted to begin my search for a mortgage as well because I have some funds I'm not using, but I was told by someone here that I need ILR status before I could get a mortgage. Don't know how true that is. I've just stayed few months here.

Does anyone know about this?

Let's do parry with the funds you are not using now.
Serious note, you do not need Ilr for mortgage, your employment status, overall finance will determine your eligibility.

Only issue could be the length of your stay and if you are still on probation at work, however Speak to a mortgage advisor. I have read about someone who got a house within 1yr of moving to the UK.

Hello House,

I picked my dependent Visa on Monday and realized there exists on the visa "No work, business or public funds". How best can i correct this error? Should i do it from here or correct from the UK. I plan on leaving in another one week.

Similarly, for a family of four, I and My Wife picked up our visas same day, we all did our biometrics same day as well, TLS Ikeja; Jan 20th, for a strange reasons our two son's hasn't moved beyond DMC since then. We sent a paid email, we were told decision has been made. Anyone with similar experience?

Thank you

My people
If my spouse got visa sponsorship in another city and I haven't finished my masters, would it be wise to abandon my program so she can take the job and the family move?

Are you the one studying or your spouse? The question is quite confusing!

I am studying in Scotland and she got a health and care visa sponsorship in England.
And my program is yet to finish. The timing of the job offer isn't great with my masters and two kids

Is your Master’s very immersive? Can you move to mostly online.

I understand your quandry but don’t abandon your studies. You might regret it.

Just wondering which unskilled job pays that high.
mrcodebreaker:

Too low. Aim higher.

From my calculations thats like 20k p/y

Alternatively, I recommend you take the job while you keep applying to other roles. Don’t put it in your linkedin or cv yet as recruiters will see you as a flight risk for wanting to jump ship. But keep applying to see if you can get something above 30k p/y. When you see something better you bounce.

When did you start? See if you can get an approval to move your attendance 100% online.

Or at least 95%. Especially if you’re already half way through.

Thank you for your input. Started September 2021. Currently in 2nd semester

It’s doable. After the Easter holiday all that will be left will be mostly your thesis work which can be done solo/virtually. Unless it’s a 2 year course.

Just see how you can manage till after Easter. You’re almost there.

I knw someone in a very similar situation and they asked the uni for another extension which was granted till the 20th of Feb. Deferring ur admission will make you lose all the costs u incurred towards securing this visa. You might be denied entry into the UK if u don’t get approval or extension from ur uni

I think it’s better to enter uk first before correcting the error.

Hello guys,

Please I really want to confirm what an agent told me

She told me that after studies in the UK one would have to first come back to naija to process going there again or going to another country

Please how true is it?
I thought it's possible to process either masters or PhD after BSC while still in the UK

Please I need our response

45 days later I got a job as workforce analyst....... thanks for all the advise ....
LagosismyHome:

Covid has opened many companies eyes and many roles can be remote now so don't limit yourself to only Southampton. Sometimes it not even listed on the job that it can be WFH.

I would apply for anything. Then when offer comes you can turn it up or down based on your needs. It even gives you the experience to grow yourself in interview

But chief, I never said so .......... Whilst looking for an alternative, my expectation would be you worked on honing your skills, network with data analyst, understand the working environment better, use YouTube to research interview questions etc etc .........

Remember, it's not about your today, but your tomorrow.......... wink
