For the umpteenth time, Obi has never claimed to be a saint. His antagonizers are the ones who have placed that hallo on his head.

It's a case of a virgin who isn't perfect walking into a room full of whôres. Every time she says anything about anything, the insecure whores go, "So because you are a virgin, you think you're better than us? You think we didn't see you holding hands with Ben and Bayo the other day?"

Holding hands doesn't equate having sex or screwing around but they'd try to project their moral failings on her regardless just to feel better about themselves being whöres.

MAKING YORÙBÁ A LANGUAGE OF SCIENCE – AESTYL IS INDEED UP TO THE TASK

The issue of whether Yoruba or any other African language can be used as a language of science always amazes me. The fact that such utterances come, particularly from the scientific community is even more dispiriting but understandable.

But then, the Yoruba language has been used to express human thoughts and processes for Millenia in areas considered to be more esoteric than the sciences.

When the opportunity arises to read a few stanza of Ifa Corpus, I am often amazed at the beauty and elegance with which the Yoruba language has been crafted to express the innermost of our belief system. Certainly, no scientific ideas can supersede these ideas.

The specificity and mellifluous expression that Bishop Ajayi Crowther gave to Biblical events that would have otherwise been lost in verbosity make me appreciate the beauty of our language.

Crowther’s use of our language shows the extent to which it can be taken to lend approval to its superiority among others. Of equal importance is the fact that the great bishop and linguist was prepared to do the heavy lifting.

This is the call of Professor Babs Fafunwa to our scientific community when he declared that ‘ a child learns best in his or her mother tongue,’ and that ‘If a Nigerian child is to be encouraged from the start to develop curiosity, manipulative ability, spontaneous flexibility, initiative, industry, manual dexterity, mechanical comprehension and the co-ordination of hand and eye, he should acquire those skills and attitudes through use of the mother tongue as the medium of education, which after all is the most natural way of learning’.

The task of the Association of Educators of Science and Technology in Yoruba Language (AESTYL) for the past thirty years is to see that this mandate is carried out.

And for this reason AESTYL has authored and published the following and more:
1. AESTYL’S Illustrated English - Yoruba Science Dictionary
2. Yoruba Modern Practical Dictionary
3. Iwe Imo-jinle ekinni ni Ede Yoruba
4. Iwe-Ise Ikoni ni Isiro l’edee Yoruba
5. Awa Yoruba
6. Beginner’s Yoruba
7. Fabu Onimojinle Yoruba Science Fiction
8. Awa Yoruba
9. Yoruba Science and Technology Encyclopedia - http://yoruba-scipedia.wikidot.com/system:list-all-pages
10. AESTYL’S Encyclopedia Index
11. Etc.

We also maintain a website page that addresses Science in Yoruba themes – Association of Educators of Science and Technology in Yorùbá Language
Our association partners with schools, universities, colleges of education, and other institutions both at home and abroad to develop science curricula in the area of teaching Science and Technology in Yoruba Language.

I appreciate the use of Yoruba proverbs to teach science. Kudos to the organization.

However, they need to use subscripts appropriately in their formulae such as the formula for force above.

Then, the use of vectorial notation for vectors in formulas is also important. Kudos to the organization.

It's doable. Teachers and educators in the ethnic group should do so to develop science in the language.

Teaching science in indigenous languages is one of the most important steps to developing science in this part of the world.

Also, it promotes cultural inclusion. The benefits are many.

Those talking about the Ibibio population as a minority (and similar ethnic minorities) obviously don't know that the population of that tribe is even a lot more than Iceland, a sovereign country in the Nordic region.
