I beleive there is a rail line passing from maza maza to trade fair. Though it is not on a bridge.

The project started out as a world Bank funded project. That much I am sure of. The world Bank released at least one tranche of funding. I knew several different people attached to supervision of the project. I even have some of their drawings . It was also originally awarded to four vendors. But from 2015,the project went on hiatus and when they restarted the parameters had changed.

It is definitely easier to build roads up north. Once you have a waterlogged area, you are better off with paving stones. That sounds straight forward until you realise you need a stone/quarry dust base first. So where up north you just do some quick compaction, throw in some laterite and then pour asphalt and be done sharp sharp, you have to do much more in the south if you arr building a road to last

He directed Julius Berger to complete rehabilitation of Apapa/Oshodi Expressway in the next eight weeks, adding that the company should take remedial works into consideration. He said that a rigid pavement would be used in the reconstruction of this road, so it can take more load capacity.

The expansion of the Lagos Badagry Expressway to a 10-lane highway is another place where your Government is spending money.

Nigeria’s minister of information, culture and tourism, Lai Mohammed, said on Thursday that the $200 million World Bank loan recently approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for Lagos State was to enable the state government complete the long delayed Lagos light rail (blue line) project running on the Lagos-Badagry corridor.

Former Governor Babatunde Fashola, the current minister of power, works and housing, in 2008, initiated the rail line, but work started in 2009, projected to be completed in 2011. But the project suffered delays as the government kept shifting the completion dates from 2011 to 2012, to 2014, until it left office in 2015, blaming the failure to deliver the project on paucity of funds.

But speaking during a courtesy call on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode at the Lagos House, Ikeja, on Thursday, Mohammed said the loan would help Lagos complete the project.

“Only recently we passed in the Federal Executive Council, a $200 million loan application for Lagos State to complete the blue line rail. This is a project that had been stalled for political reasons and Governor Ambode is pushing it,” the minister said.
