Drameeja: Try this, take the number of those laid off in your article(95,000) and divide that by the number of employed Americans (~131,000,000). Tell me what percentage that is. That will be the percentage of those laid off to the overall percentage of people working. I'll let you do math. Let me know if you need help with it. The problem in the US isn't employment at the moment, it's the FED's belief that in order to tame inflation they need to increase the unemployment rate by 1% and that's what they are doing by increasing the interest rates. And the FED is a wholly independent agency whose Chair(Powell) is a Republican reappointed by Biden (Dems will be Dems, see how well Comey worked out). The fear in the Biden circle should be that the FED causes these layoffs in the midst of the 2024 campaign and that these layoffs don't stop at a 1% increase in the unemployment rate. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Funny about jobs. The plan is for unemployment to rise to loosen the overtight job market so there's no dreaded inflation in wages because those hit business and government revenue most. That's why Powell is raising the cost of doing business. Hard to understand though if market and economy knowledge is the sort one never paid school fees for. https://wolfstreet.com/2023/03/08/layoffs-discharges-jump-amid-tech-social-media-cutbacks-overall-labor-market-still-tight-with-some-signs-of-loosening/ https://wolfstreet.com/2023/01/25/whats-behind-the-tech-social-media-layoffs/

CoolUsername: Whether a minor is given puberty blockers or not should not be up to my for or against as I have no intention of dictating to anyone. Whether a minor is given puberty blockers or not should first be up to the parents of the minor, then the minor, then the professionals caring for the minor, because they are all best placed to determine what is best for the minor. I've placed parents of the minor first before the minor, who is really first, only because your question includes the oxymoronic word "given", like "let us drug this child". But even if you'd ask about minors taking puberty blockers, the order still stands as parent-minor-professionals, since the parents are responsible for educating the minor to make the right choice in the first place. Basically, if you want to drug your minor, your body your choice. Except where existing law prohibits it of course, for I wouldn't want the stupid idiot coming up with his maths is racist version and claiming buda said, 'your body your choice abortion cocaine and heroin minors'. 1 Like |

IjeBos: Easy to tell if school fees were paid or not. That fear is what screwed Jimmy Carter. Yet Biden is letting Powell do his job as he rightly ought to. https://prospect.org/economy/biden-dont-repeat-jimmy-carters-catastrophic-mistake-on-inflation/

budaatum: there is no then the Minor. the minor cannot consent to that and the parents cannot make such a decision for the Minor. if there should be no check(Morality of their actions on the minor) then you will have this same mentality on the extreme. this is extreme, but I know you support groomers, and if parents want to sell their child 5YO to a man 80YO as a bride, you will not speak up and call out that nonsense because their body, their choice. in this case, it is lawful in some countries so you think a child of 5 should enjoy her 80YO husband because the parents knows what is best for her. whatever the parents decide must be morally good. any law in a land is not to be discussed because if its the law, it is morally good. Budaatum, you no get sence. Before this rubbish you posted, look at what you said: budaatum: you are a walking contradiction. your train of thought is like leaving a monkey with a typewriter; gibberish!!! on one minute you are against people who spread darkness and want them eliminated, on another, you don't want to dictate or get involved. Hence, people can drug their kids. I thought you would have talked about the moral aspect of doing that to a minor, but you support anything that destroys society. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

budaatum: You're kicking the can down the road a bit. The essence of the question is to your take on its legality. Do you think the administration of puberty blockers to minors should be legal for the purpose gender affirmation? |
Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by budaatum: 5:26pm On Mar 30, 2023 |
CoolUsername: If a thing is legal it is legal, and my opinion changes that not. CoolUsername:Si's MiR version is, of course I think and accept "the administration of puberty blockers to minors should be legal for the purpose gender affirmation". But personally, before people are allowed to get pregnant I would love it if they were made to go for parenting lessons and pass a test for a licence they have to renew every 3 years till their first born is 25 years old. That way, parent would not neglect their duty to educate their minor to be comfortable in their born gender such that their minor now needs puberty blockers for the purpose of gender affirmation since I consider the affirmation of gender to be first and prime most duty of the parent, and if not the parent then the education system, then medical professionals whom I expect will also check the parent for sanity. I am liberal, see. And I'm democratic. I may opine have sex at 18 years old at least but know many might at 15 and some might get pregnant, so I can't possibly impose nor want to impose my own personal opinion on anyone's body, not even on my own body even. Besides, It's puberty blockers, cool. And minors already condoms 13 (8 in some cases), parents at 15 and OxyContin, suicide, etc, and with AR15 at 12 they can shoot others with and parental choice in schools! If a parent is so irresponsibly insane with the affirmation of their minor's gender that their child is convinced it wants puberty blockers, then their body their choice. They not cutting the minor breast and diq off yet, but by 14 I'm letting child decide. Their body their choice, and that includes voting and detesting the ignorant parent if that's what the parent sowed. 1 Like 1 Share

basilico:You have to define a living thing first. A vat of bacteria is a living thing, every cell in your body is alive. So you have to be able to make some distinction here. |
Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by CoolUsername: 6:30pm On Mar 30, 2023 |
budaatum: What about the science, though? There are no studies showing the long-term effects of gender childhood gender transitioning. This is quite self-evident too, as this whole thing only really caught on recently. I had a conversation on this matter a couple of weeks back with another poster and the most comprehensive WPATH study on this case only spanned about 18 months. We could literally be on the path to a future medical scandal. This may be the lobotomy of our era. In fact, the President of WPATH Dr. Marci Bowers mentioned in a university talk that kids who were given puberty blockers at Tanner stage 2 have never been able to experience orgasm. Just two years ago, we didn't know this. People are going to go in blind and end up doing unforeseen damage to themselves. Lastly, we like to say that trans people need gender affirmation as minors to reduce youth suicide. However, youth suicide rates in America have been relatively steady since the 90s despite increased trans rights acceptance. |
