Arsenal scored 88 goals last season, their highest ever in EPL.

How am I just knowing this? The closest was 87 goals scored by the invincible.

You're right. So we never score reach 88 goals in EPL before until last season?

No wonder, Arteta is reluctant to sign another striker.

That's the reason there's less focus on the forward part of the team. The lack of depth in the midfield and defense cost us last season. They just need to decide who stays between Nketiah and Balo. Our American owner might prefer Balo though... But Nketiah also helped us last season. I am in between.

Make sense!!
Saliba/White and Tomi/Timber Is very very good quality and depth to be honest!

So you think Timber will bench White and Tomi? Well let's see Arteta's plan. But I am glad we will be having lots of qualities at the back and midfield now.

I still believe Havertz might be deployed in the striker position sha, especially if we're going long or aerially.

Tbh, I'm not too eager for another striker too, my own issue na Saka Deputy.

No, I didn't say Timber will bench White and Tomi ooo.

Let me put it explicitly

Saliba/White — RCBs

Tomi/Timber — RBs

Those two for both RCBs and RBs department are really quality and good depth

Pepe on Arteta -

“People say that he identified me as a player that wasn’t up to the level in his team, in his philosophy. It’s completely false. When he arrived, he had (Manchester) City’s philosophy. He had a squad that was filled with quality and backups in every position."

" When he spoke to me, he said he counted on me, he wanted me to do this or that, and you have to focus on that. He improved me in every way. He spoke to me the whole time, I watched videos with his assistants all the time. He really believed in me. He said I had incredible potential, so we need to extract that potential,”

"At the end of the first season, he spoke with me and told me to do this or that. The second season comes along, I was a substitute. I was going mad. How could I be a substitute when he said he counted on me? Everything is spinning in your head. I was a substitute for [what felt like] 10 matches.

"It was at the time when they signed Willian. He is a number 10 or a winger. But he plays on the wing for like 11 or 12 matches in a row. My head turned, knowing that I had spoken with the coach and it wasn’t like that.”

“But that improved in the sense that he gave me a chance, I scored against Sheffield United at the Emirates. The confidence started to come back. I started to speak better, but it was a bit cold. I started to speak to agents, but we didn’t see each other like before. But it improved. It’s not true that he labelled me. Not true at all. He helped me in every way, on a tactical level, in terms of game intelligence because his philosophy requires a lot of intelligence. He knew my style of play wasn’t waiting in possession, it was cutting inside, it wasn’t waiting out on the right."

" Before, I was a bit freer. I had to wait in my zone, and I wasn’t like that before. These are parts of my game that he tried to improve. He always wanted to help me with all of that"

I see some attributes of Arteta in myself going by this thing pepe write .

The kind person wey I be, I go try help u improve ….. I will give u every necessary assistance but the moment I discover u no just improve no matter what help u get, I will quietly move past u. I will go for others.

We all watched Pepe and discover he just wasn’t built for the EPL no matter what . If Pepe was playing in Martinelli or Saka’s position last season we wouldn’t have achieved that level of success we had . That’s just the honest truth . He should just move on and accept his EPL move just didn’t work out well .

That’s the reason why some of us appreciate what Arteta has done with the team this far. It’s actually painful we bottled the league (which is due to many factors some of which are within our control and some beyond our control ), but Arteta and the team deserve accolades not the stick .

Last season was like the season we enjoyed looking forward watching arsenal play every weekend since the end of the invincible era .

Yea... we really need that height at the final third. Xhaka used to be the tallest of the front 5. With Havertz, Rammy would be able to go long.

As for Saka deputy, there is no cheap player in sight. Jesus can do a job there though.

I agree... the disappointment of losing the title was just too much that we don't see other positives.
This season eh, EPL cup is not negotiable.

There is... Na we no wan look well.
Go Brazil we go see correct young players (wingers) wey dey ball wey be lefties.

See how we got Martinelli, sharp sharp he was already ready for a backup when he came, now he's a first teamer.(under 3 years)

I watched that Angelo Gabriel clips and I saw a left footed Martinelli(he plays almost exactly like Martinelli). No much hype, no paparazzi!!

It doesn't even have to be Brazil but I know you understand what I'm saying. We just need extensive scout networking.

Nobody would sit in the bench for Saka when the person Is a European but certainly South Americans/Asia of same age will gladly seat and compete. See Mitoma na!! embarassed

We fit miss with Marquinhos but that doesn't mean we should stop and not keep looking for..

Arteta wants to build a team where marking out a player doesn't end the game for us. Goals can come from any where. I prefer that to having a 30goal striker and not win the title.

So Chamberlain later become free agent without playing reasonable minutes as a CM like he craved which made him leave arsenal ? …. Smh

I see mitland-Niles following the same route

Havertz cool
Havertz... Xhaka replacement
Havertz... Alternative to CF
Havertz... Saka deputy.

Only Havertz!!!

This was exact same thing they told Chelsea that he was Mr Versatile and that he's a generational talent that can play anywhere in the attacking 3rd, three years later we're hearing "Chelsea wasn't stable, He's not a CF, bla bla bla"

Hmmm... For the sake of arsenal, I just hope he performs very well!!
