It seems most people here have travelled. The chats (questions , and mostly answers) aren't as much as it used to be. |

Hello everyone, Please my cousins Visa was refused because she used non genuine bank statement and she has received here refusal mail. My question now is 1. When is it likely for them to call her to pick up her passport 2. She received the refusal mail since Friday and she is yet to receive mail for her to pick her passport from VAC 3. Are they going to withhold her passport 4. Also the school said they won’t refund because of the refusal reason.. is this contestable. PS: She is devastated already and she knows she did wrong by submitting fake bank statement. Way forward is what she needs. Thanks as you are kind with your responses |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by nwauwa(m): 1:26pm On Nov 27, 2023 |
Bolaadeogun: The way forward She has 10 years ban from UK (Schengen , Canada, Us will know this if she applies for any type of visa with them ) From 2033, it would take a very compelling reason for UK to grant her visa They will not withhold her passport, it would be sent back to her with a stamp at the back showing the date of her visa ban She no try at all 2 Likes |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Bolaadeogun: 1:37pm On Nov 27, 2023 |
@nwauwa . But will Schengen know?. I thought they don’t share the same database with schenghen and again her letter reads that they will give her 10 years ban only if she tries to reapply to uk again |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 2:04pm On Nov 27, 2023 |
Bolaadeogun:In reality, Schenghen might not know if they do not check. Sometimes they check, sometimes they don’t. But yes she must serve her 10 years UK ban. Which in reality due to the fake documents can translate into a lifetime ban. Well she has to lay on her bed that she has prepared. If she got the visa, she would have gone on to encourage more people to forge papers to acquire a visa. I am happy the system caught her. It is a very good deterrent. 5 Likes |

Bolaadeogun: Hey ! A knife gives mark to your hand and you trow the knife away 😊 the knife has already done the bad ..(Yoruba Adage) Tell your cousin to not panick she will get her passport back . Her passport is the property of Nigeria government not the UK embassy property. Don't be scared. She can enter the US ,Canada , Australia and some Schengen countries . UK government are not quick to tarnish young applicant's image like that because she is not an international criminal. They can deduce that she gave the job to a bad agent who eventually ruined her visa chances . That is why some country like the USA will say ..BEWARE OF AGENT ! So she is good to apply to other countries . Don't listen to negative vibes . For her deposit ..if the money is a large sum then i think the school is playing ....employ the service of a good law firm to retrieve your deposit .. The only thing that will make the school to withhold her deposit is if she paid with counterfeit check or a bad credit card . Ask the agent who did it ...Did you pay the deposit via bank transfer ? Did you pay cash to the agent ? If you did not pay the tuition deposit via illegal means then they do not have the right to seize it . Tell your cousin to go through legal avenues next time . I am not supporting the use of illegal or counterfeit documentation but the did is done . There is God ...don't give up . |

Bolaadeogun: Hey ! Quote yourself above ....her letter reads that they will give her 10 years ban ONLY IF SHE TRIES TO REAPPLY TO UK AGAIN 😏 So they have not even ban her ? Don't ask any question again ..follow what's in the letter ..let her focus on US or other countries for now . She still have clean record . It's a warning letter . Find a good lawyer to retrieve your deposit if it's a huge amount . Except if she paid in an illegal way . There is God ...don't give up. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by ladylco: 6:14pm On Nov 27, 2023 |
Bolaadeogun: First make sure she disclose her UK refusal if you is applying to any of these countries as they share database : i. AUSTRALIA and IRELAND, these 2 authomatically run all application with UK database pls dont mess with them ii. Schenge they randomly do, pray luck is not against you. iii. USa and Canada, where they doubt your application. Regardless I will advise you alway declare your Uk ban and explain that you were a victim of agent. Secondly, did you pay your school fees to the agent who claimed to have paid the school fee? be sure the agent is not trying to play a fast on on you using the refusal reason as excuse. I know some years ago in the past UK do witheld passport if you falsify document in visa application and they will not return your passport back but I dont know what they do now. This is a very unfortuate situation and I feel very sorry for you. 10 years is a very long period considering the current travel situation in Nigeria. She still have hope with other country like Japan, South Africa, Turkey. She can take up English teaching job in Japan and apply (Pls dont ask me how she can go about it, pls do your research, utilise the internet, reach out to the sources dirent and afford agent, alot of these things can be done yourself) |

Bolaadeogun: It depends on the refund policy of the school. Try and share the name of the school let's see if we can assist. Avoid Private-for-profit Universities. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 9:14pm On Nov 27, 2023 |
Bolaadeogun:Perharps she can share her story so that others can advise. If an agent applied for her with a fake document, she should ensure she gets all the information from the agent so that she can provide all the information whenever she wants to reapply. I believe she has learnt her lesson. Sometimes, it is best to learn the hard way. |

hello everyone, please i would like to invite my sister who is in Canada on a work visa for my graduation in the Uk. can i be guided on how to go about this please ? Also, can booking a return ticket increase her chance of been granted a visa ? |

Momoftwins: Person with Canada visa dey need visa to enter UK? Edit: just learnt the hard way |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by NewBoyKhashoggi(m): 5:49am On Nov 28, 2023 |
Momoftwins: Hey ! I want to think that your sister will need a visa to enter the UK because even Canada citizens still needs to apply for the UK ETA to visit the UK and ETA can be denied .....ETA is a visa waiver which allows Canadians to spend 6 months in the UK and each ETA is valid for 2 years . In that respect , her probability of getting the visa or ETA is bright and you can go ahead with the return ticket flight . You may even list her on the graduation invitation or visa form as your only blood relation whom your family is sending as their representative . Let her make personal research or visit the UK embassy web from Canada for references. There is God...don't give up. |
