He's match rusty ; he did about two mistakes that could've been costly . He also threw couple of incisive passes upfront that Jesus should've buried .

Overall , I think his comeback will be a plus to us if Arteta manages him well

We need a similar performance next week against Brentford, especially since City and Liverpool will be playing the following day.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by daveP(m): 11:32pm On Mar 04
Nelson, not Fabio, ought to come on. Fabio at wing just killed this game for me. Guy was tooooo stagnant and it killed some long passes that either of Gabriel or Partey for give am. I hope our two wingers are okay sha.

Now it is left to us to hit Brentford well as Klopp vs Pep is next show down.

61 should turn to 64 before those two play so pressure go high for both eager to go top before we meet City. In a way it's a tricky one. But a draw will help.

If Liverpool win, we go 2nd pending our fixture with City. If City win, same.

It’s expected sha since he’s coming from an injury and we need to be patient sha

I need those good long passes against Porto since those mofos will try and defend the one goal lead in Emirates

1.There's nothing wey I love like a team wey deh bang goals yet the goals Is spread across almost all the players. 6 nil yet not even a brace cheesy
If that doesn't show team cohesion and unity, then I don't know what is.

2. Omorr, the hunger from these boys are incredible. One thing I noticed last season was that even when they were winning and atop the table, anytime any of them is asked about the title race they always give same response "we're taking it one game at a time". This season, they seem up and ready for the trophy and you could see it in their fight and their postmatch talk. They're never giving up, always closing down their markers, quick, precise and incisive with the balls. Omorr, this season the gauntlet is already set.

3. This must be one of Havertz best game in arsenal shirt. Not only was his goal beautiful taken but he seemed to almost do everything right in that Cf position tonight. His movement to move away from the ball for that first goal was really smart. Most players in his position would have forced themselves to play that ball.

4. The job Arteta is doing is really commendable. The insane pressing, the rotational and fluid play and the beautiful penetrative passes is something that isn't a days work. Hats off to him for imbibing such to our players.

5. Sadly our 8 game consecutive half of double goals came to an end tonight in the 2nd half but then Raya is the highest CS in terms of GKs. To see that he didn't even start the season sef shows how amazing he and our defence is. Unfortunately he won't keep during the weekend too.

6. Good cameo for Partey, glad to see him back. Matvh rusty but then he still oozes his class with those forward balls. Lest I forget, Rice at Left 8, omorr. Sheffield are poor but then that has been said of almost everyone we've played with since the turn of the year.

7. 31goals in 7 EPL games, 45 Gd (1st), back to back to back away clean sheets with the least been 5 nil. Brothers, we aren't talking about prime Barca here. Omorr, let's savor it

Anyways, Brentford next and with a full fit squad. Happy days

In that position, Henry is in the top tier of all footballers who ever lived. He mastered that finish like a doctorate program.

Aswear!

Knowing he already walked the talk makes it all wholesome . Like u can't drag him and say " Enu dun rofo ". He scored those goals over and over on the pitch against both big and small teams .

He mastered the art and I can see him feeling proud seeing younger generation doing it & getting it right .

It would've been a tragedy if Henry didn't speak English and can't make some of these analysis in English but French

Titi knows Highbury and Highbury knows him
I use to think he operates on the wing in those days because once he's in those positions you can shout goal before it entered

After watching and watching the video am forced to say Martinelli needs to book scoring session with TH14.

Football is an art, once u can master it u good to go... Nelli would be more deadly if he can add scoring goals in tight situations to his Arsenal.

At a time I started doubting if we really needed a striker during the blip days we went on a low scoring run that accounted for 3 losses(2pl and 1 fa cup). It was increasingly bad when we were missing easy chances. Then when I remember watching most of our games again and noticed that aside the Fulham game which we deserved to lose, all the other games were games we didn't really deserve to lose, we were just not clinical in front of goal (I remember saying it here around January).

Thank goodness Arteta and the boys found a way to overcome the toothlessness in front of goal. Not only that they look sharper, more commited and motivated and everyone seems to know their role expertly.

Long may it continue!!

Arteta says Saka wasn't feeling fine ystdy before the match reason why he was subbed off at half time. Hopefully he'll be fully recovered before our meeting with Brentford

Also, he says that Martinelli issue isn't so serious. That it's just a slight cut on his foot but he'll be assessed later. Hopefully, maybe we'll see him between Brentford and/or Porto game. My advise is that if Martinelli won't be available, now is the time to try Jesus in the wings. I no deh too gbadu Trossard for wings especially when starting.

Furthermore, the synergy and understanding between this group of players is top notch. I'm a believer of "if it's not broken, then don't fix it".
Havertz have been good in the false 9 role while Jorginho have settled in greatly in the DM role. Rice have been a menace as one of the 8s just as I expected while Kiwior have been great in that left back. It would be disheartening if Jesus replaces Havertz and the latter goes back to Midfield which in turn shifts Rice back to DM and Jorginho away. The spiral effect of Jesus coming straight into this team may hamper the chemistry as Havertz isn't too great in that Midfield for us while Jorginho and Rice are doing excellent jobs in their respective roles. I hope that Arteta doesn't fix what isn't broken

What is Kai doing in the false 9 role that has made you now prefer him to G Jesus? It seems his off the ball movement is a better skill than GJesus dribbling.

You read what I said — "if it's not broken, don't fix it"

Jesus intro will destroy a lot of things and not because he's bad but Arteta will place our players were they're not maximally effective in.

Havertz Midfield
Rice DM
Jorginho out.

Just Jesus inclusion in CF will sub-optimally affect 3 positions

If in your mind he felt Havertz wasn't that good you would have suggested that Jesus simply replaces him. Simple replacement. Why didn't you suggest that?

Mind you, there are four players responsible for the recent improvements. These players improved in their roles. They are
White as an inverted RB
Jorginho with his forward passes
Rice in his mid block press (superb)
Havertz with his movements around the opponents low/mid block

For the changes, Partey will easily replace Jorginho (no doubt he is better) his only challenge will be pairing with Rice while drifting to the left wing when White inverts. The Jorginho -Rice pairing is almost faultless. He Partey overcomes this, he will be a better option and that midfield will beat any one in Europe.

As for Jesus, he will remain on the bench for Havertz.

Can you be honest enough to say here that Havertz of late has been the better false 9 than Jesus?

You can never drag me for Havertz playing CF cos I've vehemently said right from beginning of preseason that the only place he'll mostly be effective for us is CF while you were there yapping he'll be v.good as a Midfielder for us.

He's been good as a CF for us and like I said I'll still prefer GJ to him but GJ inclusion now will make him go back to Midfield (which I don't want) and Jorginho away from the starting 11 which will hamper the synergy.

And yeah, while Havertz movement is good, we shouldn't forget that Trossard was mainly playing that CF role and nobody was complaining meanwhile Havertz wasn't really that spectacular in midfield. With Trossard we walloped Crystal palace, West Ham and Burnley, so don't just make it as if Havertz at CF is non-negotiable

Knowing Arteta that he won't bench Havertz, (I know he's never benching Havertz) and that means high probability that Partey won't replace Jorginho.

It's the same way I wanted Partey to go small injury so that Arteta won't have to field him in that inverted Rb role while Gabriel (one of our best defenders is glued to the bench). All these small sacrifices is what I can take for the greater good of the team

The bolded is where you need to learn. It starts by asking 'why'

I also think you are not being 100% sincere about Havertz's performances. I said earlier that he is more productive as an AM than as a false 9. But being a false 9 expertly combining going forward and dropping into midfield is making me change my mind. He is just good any where he plays.

And stop confusing playing false 9 as CF. That's poor football knowledge.
