⚡Egyptian Natural Gas Holding to expand in Saudi Arabia

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (EGAS) has established a subsidiary in Saudi Arabia with initial capital of SAR 2 million ($530,000), Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum said on Sunday.

Owned 80% by EGAS, the newly established natural gas company "Modern Gas" Saudi Arabia is part of the Egyptian firm's strategy for offshore expansion, especially in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, aimed at attracting foreign currency inflows into Egypt.

Earlier this month, Egypt secured an expanded $8 billion deal with the International Monetary Fund, along with a $1.2 billion loan for environmental sustainability, bringing its total to be borrowed from the IMF to more than $9 billion.

⚡Indian Prime Minister Modi congratulated Putin on his victory in the elections and expressed hope for further strengthening of the partnership between Russia and India.

The Emir of the UAE also congratulated Putin.

In general, all countries that were important for Russia recognized, supported and congratulated the elections.

The opinion of countries that are unimportant for Russia now has negligible significance for Russia.

What is pissing him off is not that his men are dying, it's that he can't do anything about it. On a one on one, he can't confront Russia, with Nato, he still can't either.

⚡ Putin on Macron's ceasefire proposal for the duration of the Olympics: “I don't know about it, we are ready to consider any issues, but we will proceed from Russia's interests".

Putin should be smart enough to know that they just want to buy more time to regroup, gather more weapons, and plan another offense. The West doesn't keep to their word, and they are shameless about it. They have done it before, so I don't think Putin will be foolish enough to agree to this.

⚡"I have every reason to believe that we do not see any democracy in the electoral processes in the US today," Putin said.

My uncle and a friend of mine in the US are complaining about the lack of choice of candidates. They said they feel compelled to choose between the lesser of two evil, rather than selecting a candidate who genuinely aligns with their values and priorities.

The issue of the two-party system in the United States restricts choice for the electorate and undermines the diversity of political perspectives and ideas. With only two dominant parties,.

Furthermore, the Electoral College system, while designed with the intention of balancing power between states, has led to situations where the candidate who wins the popular vote may still lose the election, as demonstrated in recent history. This discrepancy between the popular vote and the final outcome undermines the democratic principle of majority rule.

⚡Vladimir Putin's statements at a concert on Red Square on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Crimea's reunification with Russia:

🔘 The road of Donbass and Novorossiya to the Motherland turned out to be more tragic than Crimea's, but now we're all together;

🔘 The railway from Rostov-on-Don to Donetsk, Mariupol and Berdyansk has been restored;

🔘 Soon the railway through Donbass and Novorossiya will run to Sevastopol

🔘 The other candidatess and I have different approaches to achieving our goals, but one Homeland.

⚡Vladimir Putin: Crimea is not only a strategically important territory, it is primarily about the people, they are our pride.

Crimeans and Sevastopol residents have never separated themselves from Russia; this is precisely what allowed them to return to their native family, the president said.

The path of the residents of Novorossiya to their homeland was difficult, but we did it, and this is a significant event in the country's life? Russia will move forward hand in hand with new regions, he added.

You got things messed up, and I have corrected this misconception about democracy several times on this thread.
Democracy has nothing to do with "majority rule", don't confuse your Nigerian mindset with logic and situation outside Nigeria.
America is the oldest democracy in the world, and since inception they inscripted this rule which gave equal power to states irrespective of demographic comparison between states.
It has never been about "popular vote" !
It is actually more logical to not go by popular vote if you want every group to have its say, your Nigerian democracy is just about which group has bigger population or which group Riggs better. While with American democracy, it is about what each group wants, and that will be balanced by giving each group equal power.

In a multiethnic country like Nigeria, it would make much more sense to have a system of voting similar to the USA's. But since most Nigerians are extremely ill educated and don't really understand what democracy means, we have people like you judging America's democracy with the belief that Nigerian "democracy" is the model for all to follow.

I keep correcting this and people keep coming out to remake the same mistake, that is the problem with nairaland and Nigeria in general. This gets me aggravated.

Democracy:= power to all the people.
Democracy is not about power to the bigger demographics and marginalisation of smaller demographics.
