Shit happens. If you want to know what you can do, just experience poverty first. The posters above me that are condemning her will probably do worse when faced with poverty.
So what happens to manual labour for to make money instead of resorting to prostitution?

My sister just enjoy the money and keep quiet. You knew exactly what to do and how to do it. There’s no need acting all innocent and helpless now. Invest that money and pull yourself out of poverty because your husband isn’t husbanding at all. When you need more money you know where to go. Case closed.

I guess it’s a second hand bmw since inflation hasn’t touched your local Peckham yet 🤣

I chose to respond to you firstly because you didn't insult me (like the rest of the brainless oafs here).
Secondly, I like how you premised your question on the concept of the golden rule (do unto others as you'll want others to do to you).

To the issue and my comment.
Please re-read my comment again because most of you missed the key premises of my views:

Premise #1: ALL humans are not infallible or without sin (including you). NOBODY CAN EVER SWEAR THAT THEY CAN'T SIN, one way or another. You may not commit adultery, but you may steal, cheat others, envy/covet others, kill others one way or another, etc.

Premise #2: She MUST confess NOW and return ALL the money. This way she ensures that the man has no remaining claims on her in any way. She would also be free of his blackmail.

Premise #3: This is a ONE TIME thing and not a habitual character issue. Her husband knows her as a NORMAL TRUSTWORTHY WOMAN (not a LovePeddler).

Premise #4: The man in question is a MATURE man (all mature men know that NOTHING can be guaranteed in life except death).
Mature persons understands that life is a deep dark thing, and only the light that comes from within can help one navigate it.
Deep stuff which I don't have time to elaborate on here...

Whatever I say here is EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD DO IF IT WERE ME.
But then again, I don't expect everyone to agree with me, after-all we are not all at the same levels of spiritual vibration. cool

The fact that the woman bothered to share her story and has been pained enough to seek help is enough validation that she REALLY hates what happened. Did she have to share anything here? NOPE.
As a matter of fact, most of the men ranting here calling me all sorts of names are the types that their women screw the whole town secretly, while they are here rapping rubbish.
Women who REALLY cheat (true whores) NEVER SHARE THEIR STORY. THEY OPERATE IN STEALTH MODE PERMANENTLY.
The OP doesn't seem to match that, because she is already willing to return the money she received.
Anyway, there you have it.
You are entitled to your view, and I mine. cool
Thanks for the reply, while i don't want to argument more, I am not trying to be judgemental or generalize, most women are very crafty and smart, she may have evisage what might come in the future, hance trying to plan for backup. Women would commit an act, tell u and still continue in the act, especially women that easily say the are SORRY, fear them. One of my major issue with her write up is "and one thing led to another" a married woman! A married woman would seat down in a man's house and allow one thing to lead to another, that means she wasn't defensive at all, meaning she likely wanted it.....you go to a man's house that you claimed has been asking you out for 5 years and he probably knows you are married, and you did not plan to be defensive, and the man did not rape you.....naaaahhhh, she probably regrets her action....but I don't think it was a mistake

Blacklist his contact and block him everywhere you know he can get to you, possibly tell him ur phone is missing or ur husband has collected ur phone. Keep ur distance from him and after some weeks tell ur husband a family member is planning to loan you some money from the village.
Find a way to confuse him to let you collect the money then give him everything and don't go back to the other man again. Except u actually knew what you are doing

You made some good points, but you still didn't give room for her humanity in the face of adversity - in this instance POVERTY.
Mehn... you are grossly underestimating what POVERTY can do, especially to a Nigerian woman's mind.
Not making excuses for her...
Ask yourself this simple question: How many poor Nigerian women can refuse significant amount of money, particularly these days of satanic hardship?
But I get your point (and have always been aware anyway) that a woman who has already made up her mind to screw another man cannot be stopped. She would find one excuse or another to accomplish her wish.
But it doesn't seem like that woman in the OP is one of such. She appears to have lost her mind temporarily due to hardship.
My 2 kobo opinion.

Your opinion is beyond 2 kobo, you are right, poverty can lead to alot, hunger nor be person mate...when it comes hard, alot can be done to stop it...probably that was her motivation and she now regrets her action.

Some people's fetish is actually married women.

One of my guiding principles in life is to never sleep with either a friend's girl friend or a married woman.

Very fast track to an early grave... Especially the married woman part!

Why not married women?

Firstly, understand that you are a human being, and human beings are not perfect (including the hypocrites here calling you all types of names and accusing you).
As a human being, you fell for hardship (that is why poverty is very dangerous).
Understand this and forgive yourself.
Secondly, tell your husband everything now. Return the man's money, too. ALL OF IT.
I presume you are married to a mature man (not a kid like those ranting here).
I also assume that you are telling the truth about this being a one time mistake and not your character flaw.
If your husband has always known you as a normal trustworthy woman, and he is not the deeply insecure type (BTW I warn women to never marry insecure man no matter what), he is likely to forgive and let bygone be bygone.
Just like Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, GO AND SIN NO MORE. cool

you could actually make your comments without berating others. every opinion matters and people have different level of tolerance just because you can tolerate things does not constitute maturity.
