I wish people can be traceable here, just like on Facebook or Whatsapp. A lot of charlatans would not be talking rubbish here. Someone that may be busy in people's inboxes begging for alms and handouts will come here and be insulting people in the name of supporting a failed government. Too bad.

A couple years ago, we bought a whole pack of this same milk at around 50-70k. can't remember the exact price. Even at that it was soo expensive compared to what it was sold before. Anyways, it's NOT A MUST PERSON must drink peak milk, I would just carry my faro bottle & get fresh milk from the university farm near me on weekly bases

What a stupid question
So what is the difference between supermarket and open market? Highest 5k. If you remove that, does the price go below minimum wage proposed?

Anywhere you want to get it cheaper would definitely leave little or nothing left on the 48K proposed by FG.

And imagine a family of 6?

That 48K is not a "Living Wage". It is a "Slave Wage"

I Understood you, just as i have been wondering why the multiple taxation in this government. Though previous governments has done a lot of reformed in both federal job and state job. Local government inclusive. However It is the duty of the government to know that the money they are paying is not wasteful but for productivity . With the way Tinubu government is running the economic, 200k can't be enough for workers monthly take home if we are sincere to ourselves

casualobserver:

The questions many of you should ask but are not asking is what is the output of a minim wage worker if the average Output of the Nigerian worker is N250k a month? Why is the productivity of the Nigerian worker so low?

The answer is you have 4,5,6,7 people doing the job of 1 person therefore sharing the salary of 1 person. The reason is the average Nigerian worker has no economic skills, that is why you will employ someone in a supermarket just to sit down at the exit and tear customers receipts. Same thing you have govt refinery workers collecting salaries for decades and refining nothing. Yet the workers in DPR for instance who actually work cannot get a hiflgher wage because they money is spent on salaries for idle refinery workers. If govt says we want to sack refinery workers because they have no output, it is the same workers that will say no and go on strike.

You have 2 identical farms both produce 10 tones of maize worth 10m, one has 1 farmer the other has 10 farmers. Clearly 1 farmer is capable of farming that farm on his own but because 10 farmers decide to farm the same size farm. The farmer in farm A will go home with 10m while the farmers in farm B will go home with 1m each.

This thing is not rocket science.

That's one of the issue we are having in Nigeria. If you go to normal market, the price of the Peak Milk might not even up to N50k but go to supermarket, they can even called it N100k self.

So as how me and my friends went to one restaurant one early morning after leaving the club, imagine the restaurant selling 2 indomies with 2 eggs for 5k.. na how much be the carton of indomies, crate of eggs?
Where do you see that kind of supermarket, for your info most supermarket offer cheaper prices compare with the retail store. and most times the difference will not be up to N1,000. You useless lots think with your anus. you all must be so cursed to be thinking with your anus. anything to defend your failed darling daddy.

Na 2500g you dey pursue.
So a family of four will buy one N200 sachet milk and then they will all share it by counting the seed abi. poverty will not kill you and your generation. for your info it is far cheaper to buy bigger container. as for me and my household we buy the 900G container and it goes for N15,000 compared to previous price of N2,500. now if you multiply the 900g by 3 it can give you 2,700g which is closer to the 2,500g Op posted and that means it is supposed to sell for N15,000 x 3 =N45,000 wholesale price oo. because my wife always buy from the market, from the wholesalers.

It’s like a lecturer giving an example in class using widgets. I have said it many times….You are clearly brain dead.

It was a hypothetical example to illustrate inefficiency. If 10 people are doing the work of 1 person the value or market price of their output does not increase because there are 10 workers. The market does not care! The guy who does the job alone will determine the market price and that will be the benchmark. This is why Nigerian products are not competitive internationally. If you like use 100 man hours to build a car, the price you will get for the car is set by the company who builds a similar car in 20 man hours. The value of Labour output in both factories is the same so the wage for the worker in factory A has to be 5 times less than the wage for the worker in factory B. If your price is any higher because you Labour costs are higher, your cars will be expensive, nobody will buy your cars and you will go out of business.

If you like employ 100 people to extract a barrel of oil when your competitors are employing 20 or 10. The price of your crude is the same in the market. So your workers will have to be paid less to remain in business. This is the productivity problem of the Nigerian worker. The market doesn’t care what the price of peak milk is or whether you can feed yourself on your salary. The supermarket worker would earn more if they didn’t have to employ someone just to tear receipts as if Nigeria is the only place there are supermarket thieves. You go to a Nigerian supermarket and you see idle staff chocking the aisles doing nothing to the point of disturbing the flow of shoppers, each of them is the reason they all collectively earn little. In a supermarket abroad where staff are paid better you do t see all this nonsense you see with Nigerian workers like singing playing music and dancing on duty. The Nigerian worker adds little value and that is why he is paid peanuts.

If you don’t get that it shows (once again) you really are daft.
