Fuel goes up from 145-600 , that's over %400.
Dollar from $500-$1500 , %300.
Why can't they pay workers at least %200?
Increase of 200% of current #30,000 minimum wage is #90,000. Will that be enough?

Hyper inflation? What are you seeing now? If increasing workers salary would do that, so be it. You won't see inflation when senators and reps earn more than 3m a month cumulatively abi

Even a child knows that the Nigerian government is the highest employer in the land.

All you screaming inflation; I’m not sure the lots of you know how that works. Even if the wage isn’t increased; prices of goods will maintain an upward trend for now. It’s only common sensical that a living wage is put in place to cushion this current daily inflation.

When the so called “hyper-inflation” y’all are yelling about kicks in; the critical mass of the nation would have the purchasing means to meet up.

Unlike now; prices are climbing everyday and more and more people are falling out of the bracket of individuals that can afford the current price of things.

They wanted to keep adding ₦3k every 2 weeks until 2 years is gone.

Labor should go on strike come June.

Lets shut everything down until they stop playing with people's lives and sanity.

Why ll the federal goverent take them seriously?
How many times have they had courage to to embark on strike. They have been going back and forth, playing romance with the goverent on matters that concerns the wellfair of their members.

My wife keeps getting angry anytime she returns from the market because prices keep going up.

I'm not struggling to eat, yet the whole thing feels overwhelming.

What then is the fate of the poor? Those who earn peanuts to feed their families?

Yet some people are playing with the poor.

Wait until they have no where to turn again, they'll turn against everyone else.

The policemen guarding your wards and children might be who would turn against you.

Wait and see

My brother, if the law enforcement, especially the police aren’t a group of bastards, they ought to be the one’s spearheading these revolts. They are literally the worst paid individuals in the country but because they have guns and ride in the same cars with their oppressors; they feel like they are above the average man but in reality they are below.

Funny enough, only few of them get to eat crumps from the tables of the VIPs they're attached to, the rest are poorer than church rats (excluding the criminals amongst them).

A time is coming when even the policemen would down tools.

They are closer to the people and see the pains everywhere.

How can a family of 5 be struggling to feed well with ₦300k monthly, yet a cruel government is playing with the lives of the poor earning just 10% of that monthly?

What exactly can anything below ₦150k do for any family not to talk of ₦33k?

Very few FG workers are in Level 1 that will receive 60k .Most are Level and above and take home will not be less than 100k at the end.Going above will cause massive grandscale inflation!

I ll tell you in simple analysis.
Firstly, Nigeria is richly blessed in mineral resources but they aren't being used well. The country is also retrogressingg rapidly in production and we import most things being used. That's what uselessed the naira. Govt is only generating money from crude oil and tax. Amidst all these things, the spendings of the country increased madly and part of the problems were lack of population check. We are too much for our income. In some places their population ll be a blessing but ours is a curse. And nothing's being done to checkmate that huge population especially from a region where they ll quickly scream religion if you tell them. Again, FG now increased their own earnings so much that it's giving the citizens mirage of money. They ll never believe there's no money in govt cofers. When senators, reps earn millions monthly, drive N160m cars etc.
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/330555629_NIGERIA'S_SENATORS_AND_THEIR_JUMBO_PAY
https://www.channelstv.com/2023/10/24/senate-justifies-luxury-vehicles-for-members-says-ministers-have-three-suvs/
All these earnings need to be reduced to balance equation that Nigeria was broke that's why labour no go get anyhow increment. But who am I to judge labour? If FG officials from president to state governors, ministers, reps, senators, commissioners etc can be earning millions, why ll labour too not earn theirs?
A nation that's deprived of equity in labour ll experience Nigeria's challenges.
So the solution is to reduce the earning of politicians and their appointees, more merging of ministries, reduction of aides etc and increasing the salary of labour to like 300%. These same labour endured dollar rise and fuel rise of over 300% - 500%. So make FG no short change them. Lastly, Nigeria should increase local productions to reduce importations. So that naira can v strong value and maintain its relevance among world currency. All these sacrifices need to be in place concurrently and it's a sacrifice that takes time to yield results but it's very necessary we start immediately cos of the future. We v already experienced increment of fuel and devalueing of naira. So govt officials too should sacrifice for the nation.

OPS (Organised Private Sector) is on the same side with government, they are satisfied with what Government is proposing. My question is what percentage of Nigerians are employed by FG that will cause the hyperinflation you are saying. Btwn Government doesn't even give Labour alternatives to lowering the proposed minimum wage. Labour has released the template used in calculating how those figures were arrived at. The Government should be serious in providing some of the services public servant will spend money on, so the money budgeted for such can be removed from the minimum wage list. The summary of the whole meeting so far is that Government is insensitive to the plight of Nigeria workers and they don't care. N60,000.00 cannot be the reasonable minimum living wage the President promised. I am shocked!

You will be taken serious, you and your irks when you talk about the frivolous wastage of the regime and coastal highway or whatsoever you people called it that is awarded to a substandard company instead of a more reliable one, lets not say who owns the company, so there is Money for all those but Nigerians are going hungry, have you seen 1000 naira tomatoes recently, what of ordinary okra, to make an ordinary okra soap for one last week, I spent almost 10k, Okro of 1500 couldn't do co s of its size, do you know that money you people want to go and waste, if invested in Agriculture, half of our problems will be solved.

It's not about NLC going lower and the FG going higher.

It's good the NLC has come up with a template on how they arrive at their proposed figure.

Let the FG also come out with their template on how they arrive at the figure they keep trying to propose.

Because they can't just keep doing this and expect the common man with the lowest grade to accept and be happy. We all know they have a purported template for the large salaries and allowances they give themselves, right from the Presidency, Senators in both chambers, Ministers, Federal High Commissioners, etc, etc......many of which don't even contribute anything meaningful to the Nigerian economy and coupled with they still have the easy access to loot the treasury of the nation.

You dey mind those mumu people! They look for every opportunity to call the govt a bad name without good thinking. Minimum wages issue not only govt decision because whatever decision govt takes would affect private companies if not considered. No matter what they agreed upon private companies would still layoff workers and these people would still blame the govt

How do want somebody to survive on 60k per month ? water electricity feeding accomodation, even transportation to office 60k wont do for 30days , abi na slavery ? While ministers ,members of NASS are paid millions despite bogus allowances

I don't understand why will anyone be complaining about inflation anytime people talk about increase in wages in this nation.
But this same people will come and be comparing the price of petrol and gas, price of electricity, etc, etc, with Nigeria and USA.
