FG should simply state how they arrived at 60k per month. The 100% increase from 30k Is nothing.

A plate of food for a family of 4, in the worst case scenario is 2k and that is 6k per day times 30

This is almost 180k. OK let's say it's 3k per day, that's 90k.

No transport to work, no utility bill payment, no school fees of the kids, clothing and rent.

So how do you expect the worker to cope?

As NLC is insisting, let the FG breakdown the 60k offer into feeding, clothing, rent and education
tinubu increase
electricity,
pms,
school fees
con dey fear to increase salary
what..........(don't know the ajective to use)

Why is Govt so wicked??

Take this minimum wage to 100K now, and see whether labour won't bulge..

But no, you want to impoverish people much more, so that you can manipulate them during elections as usual.

Strikes and protests are useless here

They are just as useless the govment

This strike action will last for weeks if the Labour unions are very serious to fight the war against FG. At least if you finally settled for #150k or #200k for new minimum wage, that one is justifiable

On a side note,
Ronus started shouting regional govt but immediately Woye(fg not Tinubu crooner) said Lagos will not be part of SW, the frenzy started dying.

Lagos has never been part of Western Nigeria! grin. Lagos belongs to all Nigerians equally
This is invalid in today's Nigeria. It was the arrangement when Lagos was capital of Nigeria. Lagos will be replaced by Abuja if the proposal sails. Except Tinubu is trying to reverse absolutely everything including the Nation's capital and currency back to pounds.

Well, all Nigerians built Lagos unless you're ready to pay 5/6 the value of the economy of Lagos to the other 5 zones

How will the employer cope? Is everyone the FGN or the state government? Casualization and contract will
simply increase.

Do you not understand the cost push of a massive wage increase?

It's Zimbabwe you are praying for.

Will increase in salary increase productivity and reduce all other factors of employment?

The NLC position is ridiculous and any sensible person knows it.

For those that are lazy to read.

The main points from the article.

1. **Labour Strike**: Nigerian labour unions have threatened to go on a nationwide strike within 24 hours.
2. **Government Response**: The Federal Government is making last-minute efforts to avert the strike.
3. **Dialogue Efforts**: The government is engaging in talks with labour leaders to resolve the issues and prevent the strike.
4. **Labour's Stance**: Labour leaders remain firm on their demands, emphasizing the need for the government to address the issues causing the strike.
5. **Public Concern**: There is growing public concern over the potential impact of the strike on the economy and daily life.

These points highlight the tension between the Nigerian government and labour unions as they attempt to negotiate and prevent a disruptive nationwide strike.

This labour and tuc idiots are stupid just like their counterparts in govt ....... requesting for increments in salaries at this time will not yield any positive results due to the total fall in value in the country.....they would have requested for govt intervention in the economy like agricultural reforms and overhauling of the security sector more so the overhauling of the countries energy sector ....but trust the shallow intelligence of a black man who always view large collection of money to be wealth.....if u increase salary ....mkt trend will increase overnight....killing the value of money .....in turm creating wideeeee income gap btw the rich and the poor ...... standard of living will so increase.....like house rent .......the Nlc chairman is a fool

You should not be proud to say this sir... it's a big shame that your god of politricks and economics will rather play games with NLC than attend to the yearnings of the workers for an increase in their monthly stipend!

We have neglected many things that will continue hunting us unless we zero our attitude and do the right thing.

Something that all of us should be doing in front of our street carry written cardboard to protest about the hardship high inflation of this new government, other African country are not sacred of there government but why we Nigeria are always afraid to talk
Re: 24 Hours To Strike: Labour Talks Tough, FG Begs by udumosam23(m): 7:51am On Jun 02
Ordinarily, this is what every Nigerian should be protesting for. We deserve nothing less than 300k in the present economic realities. However, 200 or even 150 can be managed until things become better. Offering anything less than that is wickedness in the part of the govt.

If we continue to allow labour to fight for us, they will like all other times be compromised and sell us all off. They need to do more to get the public trust.
