You are 100% right but back in those days, people eat more from mother earth. Their wants were limited and not always about foods, which they can easily grow themselves. Petrol or dollar price had little or no effect on their living because majority don't have business with the two items or it position in economy.

The stew would cost 6000 minimum let's say 4000 for the stew that's 6000 for one meal for the day

Breakfast if they eat 1 bread that's 1500( they would most likely eat two) , Milo is 400 milk is 400 ... That's 4900 for milk, 1500 for bread

That's over 6400 ... If they add egg that shoots to over 8500

Dinner they eat soup of 5000 garri for 6 people would be 1500 minimum.. That's 6500

Guinea corn mixed with cassava
