No sentiments, just tolerance
I am not fulani.
Just a Nigerian.
I don't care if you are itsekiri. This is the 21st century. Your Fulani people should embrace modern trends than roaming through people's backyard and trampling crops.
They should buy/rent lands anywhere they could and do their business in peace. That's what no sentiment and tolerance is all about

The southeast people are the unknown gunmen.
They assassinate people/soldiers randonly
We have not curbed their movement anywhere in Nigeria
They still come to kano, Lagos and Maiduguri freely to ply their trade.

You are daft!

Unkown gunmen is a problem of the east and the east ia dealing with it.
If it spills anywhere else, then people will revolt.

You lot started Sharia and imposed it on non-muslims.

Rubbish, is cow meat the only meat available in Nigeria?

What happens to goat meat, chicken etc?

Killing farmers to feed their own cows makes yhu happy, huh?
Let everybody take responsibility for their own private business.

I actually like goat meat.
But you miss the point.

The same way you come from the southeast and open a pharmacy or spare parts shop in Kaduna/kano/katsina and ply your trade and take the profits back to east safely.
Thats the same way the fulani man also plies his only trade all across Nigeria, to feed and raise his family.
Live and let others live. Not killing people under the guise of cattle-rearing.

Ranching is not affordable by the average fulani herder.
Herding in Nigeria is getting deeper into the south as climate change is "desertifying" north more.
If humans cannot even feed due to inflationary government policies
Realistically, how do you expect the person that has eaten to afford to feed a cow in a ranch ?

They can find a new profession. The new ranchers will comply with the law. They had decades to prepare for this inevitable outcome. Nobody is interested in their sob story. Sir we all have problems let them carry their load without making it societies issue.

The upfront cost of ranching is more expensive, but the profits are higher and cows will be cheaper. Look up the top exporting countries and ask yourself why these herders aren't the top. Lastly we always had the option of importing cheaper beef but Buhari deemed it wise to ban imports.

Potential Impact on Beef Prices
Implementing large-scale ranching could significantly increase the cost of beef due to the high expenses associated with establishing and maintaining ranches. These would make Nigerian cows too expensive for purchase as cows from Niger and other neighboring countries practicing open grazing will be cheaper in the open market.

Suggested Practical Solutions
Designated Grazing Areas: Allocate specific areas for grazing to prevent clashes while allowing pastoralists to continue traditional herding methods.
Conflict Resolution Mechanisms: Establish local committees to mediate disputes between farmers and herders, promoting peaceful coexistence.
Cooperative Farming: Encourage farmers and herders to form cooperatives, sharing resources and knowledge to improve productivity and harmony.
Community-Based Animal Health Services: Provide mobile veterinary services to support herders, reducing the need for long migrations and potential conflicts.
These solutions aim to be cost-effective and fair to both cattle herders and farmers, ensuring sustainable practices and reducing conflicts.

The Southeast is allowed to ply their trade and open spare parts shop in katsina
The Southwest is holding Aso-rock Office in Abuja
The South-south is FCT Minister in Abuja
Why cant the northern Fulani man feed his cow in the south ?
Lets be tolerant and restructure cattle grazing to accommodate everybody.

You are one of the reaaons and people why this country should disintegrate into 1000 units.

That part of the North that does not allow alcohol to be sold in its region......What is it called?

If restricting ranching to the native residence and States of those who induldge in it, why do you think it would cause beef to be costly?

Do you not know that it would now open the market for people like me in the South South to start my own cattle business and ranching!!!!

The SS have never complained about the appointment of persons from the Northern part of the country into the Niger Delta Ministry and NDDC from the inception of its formation but you know find fault that a Southerner and a former governor from the Niger Delta region has been made an FCT minister and you speak in such awful manner!!!!
What is the meaning of the FCT?
Even at that all those who were made FCT ministers in past times, how many are truly indigenes of the land?
Not some sand men coming to occupy other peoples land and trying to lay claim!!!!!!

Stop the deception and hypocrisy.

The North through the Nigerian Army have been favoured to rule Nigeria more than any tribe during the era of Heada of State and the rest of the Southern region did not complain.

The North has licneces to oil wells dug in the South and Niger Delta region and none has complained and even in the complain the Southern region have been insulted by those who feel they are bettee breed to rule this nation.

Thank sir you for your comment
Alcohol sale is religious, has nothing to do with the this conversation. In the USA, a lot of "dry counties" dont sell alcohol as well. (Educate yourself if you are not aware)
Ranching would come at prohibitive cost to the average Fulani man, especially in a country where even humans cannot feed adequately due to inflationary government policies.
No deception nor hypocrisy, I am saying Nigerians should be free for all Nigerians to live and practice their trade. Whether you sell drugs as a pharmacist,or spare parts or a Fulani herder or a politician.

the killing is too much. You will carry cow from one state to another and also have the mind without fear to walk on people's farm land because you are doing ur own business. People will from their own state, come to ur own state, do businesses, pay taxes and live in peace with you. But you came into people's land with cow, won't pay any form of tax, rape farmers, destroy crops, live freely you will want the people to leave their lands for you. If you want to do ur business, buy large land or lease land for years and do ur business peacefully.
