do4luv14:Took me a while before I even understand what you typed here. So because he used Aboubakar as an example, that justifies inviting Ighalo to the SE team again? Lemme ask you these. 1. Where is Ighalo playing now? 2. Why did Ighalo face so much criticisms that made him retired early? 3. Compared to Cameroon, are we lacking strikers? 4. How does inviting Ighalo benefit us in the long run with world cup in view? 5. Was Ighalo himself 'clinical' while still in the team? |

Mujtahida: Tufiakwa. Finidi should instead keep building on his understanding of Possessive football, especially the defending ideas that comes with attacking play. |

My Analysis of our Game Against SA I predicted that Findi will be playing breathtaking/attacking football before the game on Friday. Defence: Nwabali did well. Ajayi and Bassey were solid. The pair has played together for a long time and have built a telepathic understanding between them. The central defence position requires 2 CB who have played a couple of games together and have built a certain Chemistry between them. Bright Osayi Samuel did very well as a make-shift left-back. Benjamin Tanimu is a Centre Back and not a Right Back.He made a lot of tackles, interceptions and recoveries, typical of a good centre back.He couldn't join the attack nor make overlapping runs down the right like Osayi since it's not his natural position. Verdict on the Defence:Nwabali starts again as GK. We should revert to a back 3 with the trio of Benjamin Tanimu, Ajayi and Bassey playing as centre backs. Bright Osayi Samuel will now operate as a left-wing back while Sodiq Ismail of Remo Stars plays the right-wing back.My choice of Sodiq Ismael is because of his numbers in goals and assists this season for Remo Stars in the NPFL. Mid-field:In the absence of Frank Onyeka, Wilfred Ndidi starts as holding midfielder with Alex Iwobi playing as a central midfielder. Fisayo Dele Bashiru starts as attacking midfielder. Attack:Since Paul Onuachu did not get on the score sheet and was average bar his pre-assist for Dele Bashiru's goal, he should be dropped to the bench. Lookman did not play in his preferred or most effective role.He played mostly as a wide forward on the left, crossing the ball for Onuachu who couldn't get on score sheet. This hinders his efficiency in front of goal as Lookman goals this season has always come with him playing behind the striker as either AML or LSS, as seen in the AFCON and for Atalanta this season. Lookman starts in a 2-man attack with chukwueze.Chukwueze had a fine game he was a threat in the second half and almost got on the score sheet, if not for the ball hitting the bar.He is not new to this position, as he has played in a two-man attack before. In one occasion was the game against Bayern in the champions league when he came from the bench for Villareal to net the winner. This formation will earn us a comfortable win with a 2 goal margin. Nwabali Tanimu Ajayi Bassey Sodiq Osayi Ndidi Iwobi Fisayo Chukwueze Lookman It's a 3-2-2-1-2.A variant of 3-5-2. I'm the guy that predicted Fisayo scoring or assisting on Friday which he did by getting us the equaliser. 2 Likes |

Napoleon55: Onuachu has a better goal sense than these guys. He might be slow which is his weakness but when played to his full strength he is a menace. For club football, his only mistake was his desperation to play in England where he found himself in relagation battling Southampton. Asides that he has consistently shown he has every potential to be a good forward player. I know the national team has no time for all that as we want result instantly. But then, coaches know better. At the last AFCON he was our second choice striker to Osimhen, and not Moffi, there is a consistent reason for that even while Moffi came as an earlier replace for Boniface and Onuachu came later to replace Sodiq. So I tell you, if only we can yield to play to his strength which we saw while he was at Belgium. I dare say no Nigerian player dominated the Belgian league like Onuachu did. 1 Like 1 Share |

LoverOfPussy:In a 3-5-2 the both can play as our strikers. They have both played this position a couple of times. Our Strikers do not get on the score sheet when called upon.Moffi and Onuachu missed chances.Boniface is just returning from injury. He struggled when called upon in the Europa League Final. He lasted for 45 minutes on the pitch but couldn't convert any of the chances created for him. Finidi's mistake in our last game was playing Lookman as a LWF instead of AML and LSS. Lookman for the past 2 seasons has been more effective for Atalanta as a false 9 in a 2-man attack or as an AML or LSS when playing behind the main striker as seen in Atalanta and the AFCON. In the AFCON, his goals came while playing behind Osimhen while Zaidu as a LWB covered the whole of the left flank with Moses Simon playing as a wide forward by whipping in crosses for the both.We saw Simon interchanging with Lookman but was always playing as a wide forward. This is the reason why Simon has only assists to his name and was without a goal. Lookman couldn't get a goal on Friday, because he was always wide.He is either crossing for Onuachu or drifting into the box to shoot. To get the best out of Lookman you must play him in his most effective position as we did in the AFCON or like he plays in Atalanta. Lookman is better as a false 9,AML or LSS.Chukwueze can also partner him as he has played that position a couple of times in his Villareal days. If I may ask.Why should you leave your most clinical player on the wings to be whipping in crosses for another striker, when he can easily get you goals and the needed 3pts when he plays just behind the main striker as seen in the AFCON or in Atalanta or when he features as a 9? Lookman functions best when he is very close to the box.He is a fox and predator in the box. 2 Likes |

minfelix:Pls, we don't need Ighalo. Call-ups should be according to performance in one's league while considering the competitive nature of the league i.e the position of the league and club in the UEFA and world ranking. For crying out loud, you can't be enjoying retirement money in a less competitive league like the Saudi Arabia Premiership and be expecting call-ups to the senior national team of Nigeria. We are not Montenegro or Libya. We are the giant of Africa and AFCON finalist. How can we have the best strikers banging all cylinders in the top 3 and top 5 leagues and still be inviting veterans in back water leagues? |
