Let me give my elderly advice. Let's analyze it based on the current reality of Nigeria.

As a man in this current economy, 500k can't sustain a family of 3, assuming you have a wife and a child.

Even if you are single, you can manage to go by 500k. Using myself as an example. I work from home. And I make an average of 450k-500k. Just last month here, I made 540k. But averagely, my earnings revolve around 450-550k. But I am not still satisfied even as a single guy.

I will advise you to move if the job of the 2000 pounds is already waiting for you. Below are the reasons why I will advise you to go for the UK job:

1. You will get more international exposures and recognition

2. You will be exposed to more opportunities, growth and personal developments

3. You will gain more international experiences

4. Career wise, you will add more values to yourself and CV

5. You will have more career growth

6. You will have more value for your money and standard of living

7. Your life expectancy will increase and you will live in less fear and worries

8. You will have the opportunity to become a permanent resident and possess dual citizenship in the future

So on and so forth.

Go for the UK 2000 pounds job if there is room for career growth in your job. With time, your earning will increase.

4 food.

So 24000 gross pay per annum, you'll only pay tax on about 11,500.

So annual tax is 11500×20%= 2300

(24000-2300)/ 12= £1808

Any reasonable person will want to live around his work place, that way you cut transport fare, alot of people in the UK have bicycles they use which is also a good way of exercising. Naija is better. You may earn over that salary in a month in Naija from side hustle at work. You won't anything significant over there from side hustle apart from your full time job. Side hustle maybe in a different city. It would involve stress etc

Just fyi, I am and will be the first one rooting for anybody about to leave Nigeria for a better country.
Also I am not in any comparison okay and if you like off 2k a month am happy for you which is doable as long as you plan on living alone no land to start a family or what not.

I came into the same UK, got a permanent job in less than 3 months, bought a car outrightly paid for (because I have no credit records), rented a good apartment. All within 5 months of entering the UK. People will have different life journeys and don't limit people with your personal life experience.

In the west, they don't tax that way. They tax according to your income. Low income earners get low tax rate. For instance, they don't tax the first 1000 pounds for low income earners. And the tax is not up to that 40% you quoted.

Even as a single young man, I make 600k living in PH, Nigeria, but I'm still struggling. I even work from home as a tech bro, calculate money I burn on fuel daily, having a girlfriend who's yet to get a job, monthly allowance for my surviving parent, house rent of 800k per annum, the money no still reach.

And before you all attribute my struggling to my gf, I broke up with her last month and still nothing come out, it's not like she used to make excessive demands sef except when she demanded money for bone straight of 200k-300k in December, I still tell her say I no get, she vex finish calm down.

I used to pray for a 200k job just few years back but here I am doing 600k monthly, yet e no do. You don't know how little an amount is until you start making that.

I have lived in the UK for. Few months and from my experience, UK is like Nigeria only thing is the environment and the light and water with small good roads.
I lived in the UK and bought my first car there after 8 months and then it got bad I had to find a way to get another one which ended up bad too ND that was when I knew that cars in the UK are valued based on its mileage.
After 1 year I saw the UK want for me I hustle my way after thinking outside the box i relocated to America where i live presently. I am also married with my daughter here living freely without fear of deportation.
Also I own 3 cars the lowest valued at 9800$ and the most expensive one is my $60,000 SUV fully paid for my my name and my wife's name infact my computer I use for just fun cost almost $3000. Dell xps15.
I have excellent credit score I live a simple happy life working on myself and my professional skills and doing what I love best I don't sell myself short for minimal jobs anymore.
My first job was a factory job all night where I stand all night shuffling dog food and was paid 15 /hr now I charge $60/hr for my time I don't work the traditional 9-5. I can keep going if you want but I don't need to brag and if you want pictures for proof I can make them available for you now. I don't need to say much.
All I can say is trust the process, have a plan A and a plan B incase A dosent work but don't go in without knowing what you up for because I have lived that experience and with that said I wish you more winning s bro.

So my job is just to pay mortgage of 900 a month, considering I bought the house of the council. I don't pay for transportation at all because I work in the heart of London, and ride to work on my bicycle thus keeping fit and saving money. If I buy clothes no designers (Primark, Tesco and Temu.) My phone is a Chinese knockoff paid for in cash so no monthly payment. Mine is £10 a month. I go to supermarket very late and buy food that is almost out of date thus very very cheap.
After all these expenses I still have about £700 to £800 at my disposal, these days sending money to naija doesn't eat into my budget to much, sending only £30 is almost 50k these days!!!!. I also buy my airline tickets using airmiles and travel to naija during UK term time.

Dont mind them. With a 500k job, you’re not managing life in Nigeria and you are on your way to becoming a millionaire in a few months. Remember, a 500k job will have other pecks like 13th month, housing allowance, performance bonus etc. you will fare better than someone in the uk by far and can live in a decent home not a self contained

I’m the sole earner and we use 2 cars. Car insurance, road tax, my practicing license fee, medical indemnity, gym subscription, internet subscription, various activities classes for the kids etc are all on monthly subscription and they eat deep on the money.

I'll use this analogy.
A family friend some years ago inquired from a group of friends about having to work in the Nigerian Railway which likely is a permanent job, career driven, and pensionable or take a contract work working directly under the wing of the CEO of company who has a running contract with one of the oil majors in the country.
We told him to go with the contract job.
Within the years the contract was in, he was able to purchase a land and build a befitting house for himself both in the tuwnship and in his village, have a little side investment that brings in good earnings being managed by the wife he married afterwards. Though the CEO is late and the current has been given to another person but he is not doing bad after many years.
Those of his colleagues who who are working in the Nigerian Railway are been paid less than #100k. This happened more than 7 years ago. Note these are university graduates.
So if you're business inclined and love investment portfolios kindly go for the bigger one. It would take light years for the Nigerian economy to beat the UK or it would take forever for the Naira to be stronger than the Pounds.
