Lawmakers Want Urgent Purchase Of New Aircraft For Tinubu, Shettima by ApcBacteriafonj: 8:02pm On Jun 13

The House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence has asked the federal government to immediately purchase new aeroplanes for the use of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The Committee made the call in a report issued after its technical subcommittee conducted a hearing on the status and airworthiness of aircraft in the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF).

“The Committee is of the strong and informed opinion that considering the fragile structure of the Nigerian federation and recognising the dire consequences of any foreseen or unforeseen mishap that may arise as a result of technical/operational inadequacy of the Presidential Air Fleet, it is in the best interest of the country to procure two additional aircraft as recommended,” the report read in part.

“This will also prove to be most cost-efficient in the long run apart from the added advantage of providing a suitable, comfortable and safe carrier befitting of the status and responsibilities of the office of the president and vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

PREMIUM TIMES exclusively obtained the report, signed by the Committee’s chairperson, Ahmed Satomi, and clerk, Makwe Eric. Some lawmakers say the document has since been forwarded to the presidency for action.

If this is allowed then they will auction the very good existing air planes to themselves at giveaway price. This is the real reason for wanting to buy new air planes not that the existing air planes are old.

The Nigerian presidential fleet is one of the best maintained fleet in the world.

What? So the executives bought expensive SUVs for these legislooters for them to later scratch its own back this way? Who says a president in Nigeria must fly a private or presidential jet? These bastards don't rate the distraughted citizens of this cursed nation suffering the brunt of their idiocy.

From presidential yacht, to the expensive VP residence and NASS renovation. No plan for the downtrodden masses. Thunder fire all of una. May they all be dealth with by karma. Guess Reno Omokri, Daniel Bwala, Femi Fani-Kayode, and other dumb asslickers will be facing Peter Obi.

As a patriot, my heart stopped beating when I heard that my president was delayed by a faulty plane.
I couldn't take my mind off the billions of dollars of investment we missed because of that slight delay.
Not to mention the shame of flagging airplanes like molue buses in a bid to get our president airborne again.
I wet my pillow with tears that night.
This govt was supposed to favour me and my family!!
So how could such an unfortunate event occur in same govt? I couldn't eat for 3 days.
Thank God the HoR have taught it fit to pass this recommendation to the President.
I demand that all true patriots put pressure on the NASS and the presidency to ensure a speedy passage and implementation of this resolution as the benefits for the common man and the country at large are uncountable.

Law makers should sacrifice their fat salaries and allowance to purchase the airplane but nah they will rather request for loan from IMF or worldbank.
