which means Amunike can still be outclassed by other coaches too.

From the get go I told anyone who cared to listen that Finidi was never going to out coach Hugo Broos and Gernot Rohr. He simply doesn't have the minerals from what I saw of his Enyimba side that hoofed and puffed in the continent, even in the league, they came 3rd only to squeeze themselves into the play-offs and win the mini Super6 tournament, which was as much worth as Paul Offor wining the Preseason tournament with Sporting Lagos.

As much as I didn't want Finidi or expect him to do well with the SE, it wouldn't make me support Osimhen. That boy is your typical ghetto kid schooled in the school of hard knocks.

One expects that at his level and exposure in Europe certain character trails will die down naturally but unfortunately, that's not been the case. The other time he cursed out Ikpeba calling him an agbaya.
He is hurting his brand unknowingly. His management must do better as I suspect most top clubs look at character as much as talent before making a big financial layout for a player.

To buttress points saying what osihmen did was extremely professional. He could have called or message finidi or pass across his points while all the curses. He definitely needs pr training if not people will start putting him in the same bracket as balotelli if he continues with actions like this.

List modern day coaches without badges. You are talking Cruyff and Sacchi.

Show us this your sharp reasoning how it works in modern day.
Not badges. Just do it. Like mostob pointed out Neville, Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard have badges. Your badge means nothing if you cannot do it.

Thank God, we've seen what can happen when you change coaches abruptly, not that we didn't know, people just wanted to see attacking tiki taka football, only for a team that was working well as a unit under Peseiro to start running kiti kiti aimlessly all over the pitch and allow Benin to pull a Bayer Leverkusen on them.

Ndidi dey mark Onyedika, Lookman dey intercept Onuachu, Boniface dey defend against Onuachu. Really? I dey laugh but God knows anytime Super Eagles lose a match my mental state dey disorganize. People close to me seff dey gimme like 1 hour before they talk to me after such matches.

Nothing honorable here. He just did the obvious.

This is a man who is subtly trying to pin blame on Osimhen for his mess. Nothing honorable about such a man please.

As for that Osimhen's live, I missed it. I literally didn't even know he did a live until several hours later.

Watching it later and hearing him speak brought a few tears to my eyes. He is not the kind of person you accuse of "poor commitment". He is probably the most committed guy you will see in the GWG today especially evident on the field of play. The Afcon did more than enough to prove it.

But I also didn't like that he had to finally allow his emotions get the best of him that way. I wish his closest guys had made it impossible for him to do that "Live". No way they didn't know he was gonna do that and they allowed it happen until realising they could stop him. One was even calling his number to disrupt the "Live" after more than 5mins has passed.

Even Ighalo, in the comments, had to say, "Boy calm down and end the live"

Ighalo is one guy who accurately predicted how great Osimhen will become. I remember the 2016 article and interview with Goal Nigeria. He knows what he meant.

Honestly, those closest to Osimhen physically should do much better. Osimhen is a grown man and a father but still young and needs a little more guidance. Needs protection from even himself sometimes. He is too passionate and too Selfless at times. Such people don't take being labelled in bad light, lightly.

I can understand Osimhen's rage but I also wanna say he should know that Truth is like a Lion and it would always defend itself.

Osimhen's commitment has never been in doubt. It is well.

MOVING ON PLEASE.

In the end, the NFF.... you see those guys? They are the real problem. Not Finidi, Not Ndidi's slump in form, Not Tanimu, Not anything else.

We just hope again now that one of their "agenda-driven" decisions, through some unexpected twist, ACTUALLY turn out good, somewhat, and helps set the team on the path of restoration and redemption from this current chaos.

If not.... we are back to the nadir point, yet again.

I respect finito Finidi respectfully due to his past deeds in GWG but if he was member of the Mafia then, he has no right to subtily blame anybody for his glaring technical deficiency.

But NFF must be dissolve, regardless of FIFA's hammer and Nigeria should as a matter of fact withdraw from the WCQ to reorganize NFF.

For this shame is unprecedented.

No, it was about the Eagles

It was about the situation in the Super Eagles. This is a summary.

1) Colin Udoh said that it was clear before the end of the Nations Cup that Paseiro was not staying. He said that the amount of money Paseiro was demanding for a new contract was crazy and that nobody would pay that amount, so it was clear that Paseiro had made up his mind to leave. He said that the NFF should have started searching for a successor right from that time.

2) He said that it was clear that the only friendly window that we had in the FIFA calendar was in March, so if we wanted a new coach we should have gotten one before the friendlies. Once Finidi took charge of the friendlies, it became clear that he was our only choice, because it makes no sense to appoint a new coach and his first match would be a world cup qualifier (without enough time to practice with the boys).

3) He said that President Tinubu has put a lot of pressure on the football authorities because he made it very clear that he wasn't happy with the results of the qualifiers. That's what led to the meeting between the sports minister, the NFF and Finidi.

4) He said that what Finidi actually said at the meeting was that he can't beg any player to play for the Super Eagles. Colin spoke to Finidi and to other people that were at the meeting. That's what Finidi actually said (he didn't single out any player), but some media outlets reported that Finidi said that he can't beg Osimhen to play for the Eagles. That's what led to Osimhen's outburst because he felt that his commitment was being questioned. Colin tried to call Osimhen, but he wasn't picking his calls, he sent him messages, but he hadn't replied by the time they did the spaces.

5) He said that Finidi did not resign because a technical adviser is going to be appointed, rather he resigned because of the way that the matter was handled.

The NFF held a meeting in which they resolved to hire a technical adviser. That meeting was held before the meeting between the NFF, the sports minister and Finidi, yet the NFF did not tell Finidi that they wanted to hire a technical adviser. Finidi flew home after the meeting and there was still no word from the NFF. It was when he got home that China Acheru called him and asked for his comments on the decision to appoint a technical adviser. Finidi said that it was fake news, but China sent him the NFF communique as evidence.

Finidi waited for a few days, but there was still no word from the NFF, so he tendered his resignation.

6) One of the reasons that the NFF appointed Finidi as coach is because they don't have the money to appoint a foreign coach. However, with the pressure from President Tinubu, they are going to find the money one way or another. Some people are talking about a presidential task force to help the NFF raise money and ensure that the Eagles qualify for the World Cup.

Find this very funny. Even the top coaches might need time to deliver results. Especially, if we are talking of a coach that might change the teams playing approach.

So using tight result oriented target does not look the best way to go.

Peseiro vs GNB
Peseiro vs CIV group stage even at the first half final
Peseiro vs Cameroon
Peseiro vs Angola
Peseiro vs SA
haaa omo this man was really bringing a die-hard hustle feelings to the super eagles…
Walai with the way he fixed our defense and GK issue Benin and SA for hear am again…there is no say we would have lost to Benin with Peseiro in charge.
Some monikers on Nairaland needs to be banned esp when SE is churning out results that is vital…
all those people fond of rubbishing our expectations in the potential we see in a coach calling them
-carpenter
-fraud
-haramist
Are supposed to be shutdown.
Rohr qualified us to knock out stage of WCQ, dem sack him to bring african guardiola to play kiti kata..we couldn’t beat a weak Ghanaian team
Peseiro took us to Afcon final after 10yrs we offloaded him because he could not play kiti kata

Osimhen reacted to unsubstantiated reports and make fool of himself with that IG post, very childish behavior and uncultured stupidity from highly rated player.

Good that majority of his fans and football lovers have come out to lashing out against such unwarranted behavior…..Finidi statement was ‘I’m not going to beg any player to play for eagles but sensationalist press put Osimhen name to get traffics and funny Osimhen reacted to fake news….Bla Bla calling Finidi by names, cursing and turning himself to a child that’s still battling with childhood trauma.

Yes Osimhen commitments should not be questioned just like other players donning Eagles jersey,no player is above others or do we say Ekong,Semi and Onyeka for example are not committed, his commitment should not be an excuse for unwarrantable behavior.

It was here we condemned his outburst against Ikpeba who just talked that he would have done better with the over head kicks but called Ikpeba ‘AGBAYA’ a word that till date Osimhen refused to apologize.

I saw people reactions on social media and I was wowed that despite Finidi messing up with WC qualification, many came out to support him on Osimhen cuz they saw it as total disrespect and were disappointed with Osimhen whom they loved.

Oga joe, make una rest this badges this and that, also enough of Finidi vs Amunike….I’m ardent supporter of anything local but have come to realize that it’s foreign coach cuz Osimhen ranting just convinced me that our players are too arrogant for any local coach.

Amunike should dust his papers and get any Africa country coaching job and move on,eagles job is not a must cuz we don’t appreciate them here.

I said it from onset that the NFF is not interested in hiring a local coach for SE.
I also mentioned that Finidi was a stop gap and will be set up to fail so that they will be forced to get a foreigner. The handwriting became clearer when Amokachi withdrew. The new man will come in soon and Amokachi will be the assistant. They played Finidi like a game of chess. I said that those guys are willing to sabotage the world cup dreams just so that they can achieve their aim.
They did it with Amunike. U20.
They did it twice with Siasia. AFCON.
What they cannot sabotage does not exist.
