I think it has to do with the formation and tactics deployed by Southgate. Kane practically lost out throughout the whole match. The Serbians got better in the second half and England team was at back foot. I wonder what happens when they meet team with more grounded midfielders.

That is why England will not do well. Southgate does not have the Cajones to play his team in its most effective way. So many times in this game, Jude received the ball in a tight space but could neither turn nor progress it. So of course the advanced players suffer but he headed-in a deflected cross so he played well. The team player that was passing to the right player all the time was anonymous because he was not trying to force things.
