.....in South Africa

Activist, Aisha Yesufu’s recent criticisms of President Bola Tinubu have sparked a heated exchange on social media, with the presidency issuing a robust response.

The controversy erupted when Yesufu alleged on Twitter that Tinubu had been disgraced and shunned by South African President Ramaphosa during an inauguration event following his re-election.

In a sharp rebuttal, Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, tagged Yesufu and her supporters as “an uncouth horde of pessimists” who remain embittered over their candidate’s third-place finish in the 2023 elections.

Aisha and her uncouth horde of pessimists are always quick to rush to judgment with any whiff of what appears to them to be negative to the leader of Africa’s biggest democracy. More than a year after the 2023 election, in which their candidate came third, they remain incurably…

— Bayo Onanuga (@aonanuga1956) June 19, 2024

Onanuga accused Yesufu of hasty judgment and maintaining a consistently negative attitude towards Tinubu, contrasting her behavior with that of supporters of the second-place candidate.

My people say Pikin wey no hear word for house na for outside dem go disgrace am!
Tinubu Disgraced Once Again In South Africahttps:///C4aGF90oAZ

— Aisha Yesufu (@AishaYesufu) June 19, 2024

Similarly, O’tega Ogra, Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, joined in the criticism, accusing Yesufu of displaying “crass ignorance” and engaging in behavior aimed at garnering social media approval rather than constructive engagement.

Ogra refuted specific allegations made by Yesufu regarding the incident at the inauguration event, highlighting factual inaccuracies in her claims.

Ogra’s words, “Aisha and her uncouth horde of pessimists are always quick to rush to judgment with any whiff of what appears to them to be negative to the leader of Africa’s biggest democracy. More than a year after the 2023 election, in which their candidate came third, they remain incurably bitter and toxic, more than the supporters of the man who came second.”

Similarly, SSA to TInubu on digital media, O’tega Ogra said, “Aisha, have the constitutionally guaranteed right to express yourself, but your consistent display of crass ignorance and shameful behavior, seemingly aimed at garnering likes and retweets, in the name of your disdain and hatred (which you profess at any given opportunity) for Nigeria is shameful to say the least.

“For the record: 1. That first row at today’s inauguration was reserved for South African kings/royalty. 2. The South African President wasn’t expected to start greeting dignitaries at the time of the video you shared and he was respectfully recalled to the podium by the inauguration compere (see video below). 3. Immediately after President Ramaphosa finished the anthem, he went ahead to greet the visiting presidents who were all seated in the second row (similar to the way visiting presidents were seated in the third row during Nigeria’s own inauguration on May 29, 2023…)

Nigeria is no longer respected as we used to be. No Thanks to Baalablu

For those quoting me to type rubbish

You’re focusing on the wrong thing

Your own father is burning down your house but you’re focusing on your neighbors who are laughing at your stupidity after they warned you severally to get home insurance

Focus your energy on Tinubu and how you have been helping him lie to Nigerians since 2015 when you people started destroying the country

Tinubu is the one causing hardship on Nigerians not OBIdients

I just noticed that Obidient or whatever they call themselves are the biggest headache to the polical class.

These guys no wan rest. Them no wan forget. They are the consciousness of the past. The unrecorded voice of history. The message they have imprinted in the soul of social media will haunt many in years to come.

Those who rigged the election thought by now. The forgetful Nigerians would have moved on to the next rave. To their disappointments, these children have refused to leave the strings of their dirty agbada.

You just penned down some loads of rubbish

It's proper to correct misinformation in public places and just up there, a lady uploaded a picture of Ramaphosa and Tinubu shaking each other

If you're too slow to seek the truth before coming out to embarrass yourself the way you did, I guess that sums up everything about the Obidient group 🗑️

Backwards set of people? When you people have set us 20years behind. Has Tinubu not set us 25years behind? Where do I start? You are the real enemy of Nigeria. Be there looking for for who is bitter and who is bitter, by the way you people made them bitter, tell me what anyone can be proud of again in this country. Since you pushed us to APC, it has been retrogression in a high degree

No, they are instead behaving as if they are not cultured. Don't they have respect for elders from whatever they came from that they think they can be bullying and insulting everyone?

Elder is a Nigerian nonsense. In most developed country it is very wrong to address your boss or what we call elders here with title.

Do you know the reason?

To take away the entitlement that they are custodians of knowledge and wisdom.

That is the problem with Nigerians. We read meaning into other people's opinion. We assume to know what people are thinking.

I white man doesn't do that. He judges you base on what you said or do not on what he assume you had in mind to say or do what you did.

So you’re blaming Obidients for the failures of Buhari and Tinubu? Like Obidients raising the price of fuel, pushing the naira from N460 to N1,400? Obidients causing hardship for Nigerians?

Instead of being this angry and frustrated at other people because of Tinubu’s failures, join millions of Nigerians and demand for better

Is Aisha's case required assuming? Something obvious/glaring about her waiting to be vindicated about her evil wishes

The same SA election, the oppositions like Malema, Zuma claimed election was rigged but they have all moved on and support Ramaphosa.

Why are the Nigeria oppositions behaving like a witch, wishing Nigeria all sorts of evil because their principal loss in a contested election?
