Everyone is against academy players leaving. The question is how is it Arteta's fault?

Is he the one coaching the academy? Or is he the one fixing contracts for the players?

Last season most of our bench players hardly got playing time because we exited both the FA cup and the Carabao cups early. Or you want him to play academy in a PL or CL match? When there are other senior players (both those in bench and returning from injury) that haven't seen enough minutes?
Gbam! That's the point o.
Jo.de.ra said something about having strong and reliable bench for next season. I don't see how promoting academy players who are untested will help us achieve this.

I once listened to a podcast of Kevin Prince Boateng that once played for Barca. He said he pitied youngsters of Barca during his time especially those who wanted to break into the first team. That Messi would just do basic training routines without putting much work and can eat what he wants and if you give him the ball, Viola!, that's how he'll be dribbling everybody like cones grin grin grin
Malcom and Dembele were looking at Messi and doing like that(that is not putting much effort in training even though they're very talented) and it's sure it's the reason they haven't reached the height people expect from them.

He went on to say as a footballer, he loves Messi more than Ronaldo and believes Messi is better than him but he'll advise any young player who wants to make it in football (both in consistency and fitness) to look at Ronaldo cos Messi is a very bad model in that aspect.

And if you look at it, it's true. Check all the players who their football idol are Cr7— Like footballers who strictly follow Cr7's discipline to a large extent, they hardly go injury. From Mbappe to Saka to Haaland (these are 3 that I've read their story and can remember off my head for now). Hardly you'll hear any of these guys having recurrent injuries or one kinda long lay offs consistently. No be jazz dem dey use.

If you look at Cr7 nutrition you go run grin
Evra said he once visited his home and that's the last time he'll ever visit it. No wines, no drinks. Chicken that he was served was just plain boiled white chicken (ie, it wasn't spiced or sauced at all. Just boiled in hot water and brought out) grin grin grin
And immediately he finished eating, Ronaldo said they should go and train sharp sharp in his backyard.
And worst part is that they were just returning from match not too long ago and he just wanted to relax in Ronaldo's place grin

Like Ronaldo once said, "Everybody wants to be like me and it's easy. Just do what I do with discipline and consistency".

But sadly only few people can do what he does consistently.
You don finish work Honourable.
This is why Messi is an alien. Tactic o, fitness o, gym o... nothing concern Baba with all these things. grin grin

Ronaldo is really good in that aspect. I like how he is building his young boy.

Lol..
You're mistaken what I said.
I never said nutrition is a golden rule to avoid injuries, I just said it helps to avoid recurring injuries like the one of dem diaby and presently Tierney. Nutrition and good physios and training regimen would help improve such limitations (the thin bones thin muscles examples you gave). The way you're making it sound, it's as if nothing can be done once those players have that limitations, they're unfortunately left to themselves and we need to unfortunately "accept it". That's not what I'm agreeing to

Injuries is part of football no doubt but when it's getting too much and frequent then something needs to be done. And for something that needs to be done, it's up to the individual to make it work cos they're strict disciplines for one to undergo. That's just my point.

Thank goodness you brought the example of Wenger. Since he introduced that nutrition regimen into their diet, it was claimed that arsenal players mostly hardly go into injuries and they were more fitter and faster. It was like that in years 2000(or so), Arsene bragged the he saw himself going unbeaten in the league which he did. And even at that, some players still secretly violated the rule (I think Ray parlor or so claimed to always sneak in ketchup that was banned and he have a secret agreement with one of the kitchen staff)

That's to tell you the power of nutrition. Then add training routines/regimen and good physios. Then add discipline.

Tell me why a player with such limitations won't improve?
How does that nullify that not all people are built for sports? Have you seen thin bones before? I mean really thin bones and muscles 😂 like that of Sylvester in my area? Lol 😂

Bros, no nutrition go save Silve if those bones break. Lol 🤣

The likes of Nelson, Trossard, Kiwior, etc needed playing time. Others like ESR, Partey, Jesus that got injured and recovered needed playing time to gain full fitness. The team itself needed more minutes to blend with each other. There was no way Arteta was going to leave all these for academy players that don't want to wait for their time. Very soon now after the Euros, clubs will begin preseason training and friendlies. That's a good time to prove to the manager that he can be a good backup.

Forget some of these academy players know that they can't challenge the senior boys and so may want to leave. If they believe in themselves let them stay and convince the coach. No matter how stubborn you think the Coach is, one day he will need you and call you to warm up. That's how Trossard started seeing games ahead of Martinelli and Kiwior ahead of Zinchenko etc. Even Deschamps had no choice but to invite Saliba even if it means playing him out of his usual position.

Dubbery and Ethan were regularly training with the senior team this past season. Duberry was attached to Saka and Ethan was attached to Odegaard. Reason why it seemed Ethan and Ode played similarly when the former came as sub against WestHam. That should convey some intent right?

Dubbery did the right thing by moving on. I wish him well in his career.

That's why I don't really buy into the 'Arteta doesn't promote youngsters' talk.
None of us here know how things dey go in training. The Patino we're clamouring for, he couldn't start up to five games since January. Where is Azeez now? Spain division 2. I don't know how Balogun is doing but he has not replicated that recent form of two seasons ago.

If spending in another winger will improve the team and take us more steps forward, I'll take it.
100% spot on.

The koko is for the first team and squad depth to be strong and lemme win major trophies. That's the most important thing and that's what arsenal and Arteta would be judged on.

Simples!!

In jurgen klopp's years at Liverpool how many young stars did he successfully integrated into the first team in his first few seasons aside from TAA that made it in 2018?. All of a sudden we should crucify Arteta for dubbery being scared of fighting for his spot. That nigga knew it won't be easy and he backed off without a fight, call it cowardice but it's his personal decision which he thinks is right.
The thing is, if the club management consider youth graduates integration into the first team as this stage, there's no how they will let Arteta breathe well with the way everything is going, but I guess they know what they want, they know we need to have a stable structure first before using these kids. Last season both Liverpool and Man City made use of youths because the structure is already there and can't be shaken. We dey fear to play Nelson and Viera but na dumebe and Nwachukwu we go give minutes. 😂

The bolded is the reason I'm not too sad about Duberry even though I'm disappointed he's moving on. We fit claim say he's ready and good and all from wetin we dey watch from afar but Arteta and the crew fit have different ideas. Or perhaps, they just want a different approach.

Anyhow Sha, Na Nwaneri be the kid I believe they're looking for to promote. The hype and belief around him, even from our players as you rightly said is much.

Anyways, all these ones no matter as long as say we deh win trophies. Na just make we start to win the important trophies naim be the koko
I'm sure more youths will see game time this season and even them knows this. Dubbery thought he's prime enough to break into the first team without going through loan spells, if only he knows the number of loans ESR went out on and Nketiah too. All of them just wan be like Saka who dived in direct forgetting that like Kobi Manoo, Saka was a case of when the "desirable is not available", and then they went on to surprise the whole world and remained "available".

True...
The best time for any young player to break into a team is when the so-called team is really struggling. But once a team is settled, e go hard for any academy youngster to break inside cos most coaches would be skeptical about their experience.

Anyways, When Arteta starts winning that major trophies and this pressure is off his back, then I'm certain we'll see all the youngsters we want

My own two cents is : As una Dey drag Arteta for allowing una favorites academy graduates leave , make una Dey drag Edu the DoF join.

I mean y’all agree Saka needs a deputy and I’ve been seeing a whole lot of names being suggested not Nelson and not academy graduates .

So let’s say Edu grants ur heart desires and signs one of the suggested deputy for Saka and we still have Viera on our books ; where does that leave ur prized academy prospects ?

Abi Arteta will sub Saka off for his newly signed deputy in the 70th minute, then sub that deputy off for Dubbery in the 84th minute ?

In this past season Arsenal had players like Smith-Rowe , Viera , Nelson, Nketiah , Elneny , Cedric etc who didn’t command starting shirt in UCL and EPL matches . It was only normal they get FA and Carabao Cup appearances .

I’m sure if Arteta had fielded an academy graduate line-up and we lost out in those cup matches we will all call for Arteta’s head for taking us back to Wenger’s last days at Arsenal .

I do not have any emotional attachment to any academy graduate. If the coach who trains with the player weekly feels an academy player can do better than a senior player in the team; I will support him 💯 and if he feels otherwise , he has my support .

I won’t support the club with the intention of criticizing every move of the coach when he has not committed seppuku

Baba I tire!!!. Na Arsenal fans we all be, no be Arteta fans, we all want our club to be successful so I don't understand how every action of Arteta should be turned into war, like the negativity and anger can be felt from every single comment made to bring down his image, and it makes me wonder if it's herd mentality or inability to look pass the hate for him. And the indirect attacks on some person's here is funny to me. Anyways what do I know, I'm just a stoner who loves football because it's fun and a game of love.

Truly, Arteta no try for that part. I personally I'm Sad duberry is leaving cos I feel he's ripe enough to be a deputy and squad player. And i understand Duberry's thought against going out on loan cos his predecessors who went out on loan from academy and being promised game time if they come back, none has made it(under Arteta), so I really understand his concern and I don't blame him(Patino a good example).

But it doesn't make to be looking outside when there's talent inside. Wishing him the very best tho
This here is one of the things he needs to consider when he just decides to send those boys on loan and buy someone that’s not good or at par in performance with the boys sent in loan..

Moreover, If Dubbery is well coached and used as a squad player under Saka tutelage cause dude plays like Saka, then we might be having another Saka in our hands.

I just hope He wins a major Trophy in this coming season cause if he doesn’t, the way fans will come at him ehn and they’ll remember this our Academy ish to put the nail on the coffin

Bros, if there was a way to bulk up Vieira to become like Adama Traore e for don happen since. What I am saying is that nutrition and exercise can add 10-20kg max. If you are 60kg it will take you to 80max with serious effort o. To play football at top level you have to be about 100kg.

For me Duberry is foolish to leave. I mean there is a big hole in the team (a backup for Saka) that has not been filled and the club may be considering him and yet he wants to leave. Mumu. Where will he go self? Highest he will join Forrest and after two seasons max they will be relegated. Saka that they are envying had to start at left back.

Arsenal that can afford a 50m backup will not miss him at all.
