Emirate Tussle: Flag Hoisted At Nassarawa Mini Palace

As Kano emirate tussle lingers, traditional and official flag has been hoisted at the Nassarawa mini palace where the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero currently occupies.

Daily Trust reports that the flag stands as a symbol of authority and signifies the presence of an emir once raised.

It is often raised every day by 6am and taken down by 6pm and remains down when the emir is officially outside the palace or travels.

It was observed that the flag was set for hoisting on Wednesday morning when the iron rod was installed but the flag was brought later in the evening and it was raised by 6am on Thursday.

Daily Trust reports that as the two embattled emirs, Aminu Ado Bayero and Muhammadu Sanusi II continue to occupy the two palaces laying claim to the Kano Emirate throne, they keep observing and exercising all other traditional and royal rites.

Hoisting of flag is not a big deal, the main thing is what happens in the courts, House of Assembly and Government House. That flag can be moved elsewhere and in multiple locations within the Emirate.

From the last court pronouncement, HRM Ado Bayero is the Emir of Kano and it is further looking like a lost battle for the Kano State Governor and SLS wink

I remember one song by Joe el, the singer who sings and looks like 2 face (and quite by small coincidence, my moniker mimics)..

He sang a song called "Oya now" with Oritsefemi in 2014 or so, produced by the late OJB Jezreel.

A few lines of the lyrics are:

"Isaac has sent joel bayaro (haha)
I mean back in the days of ado bayero (sabada)"

What I'm thinking is Joe el is from Southern Kaduna and his father was killed by fulani terrorists in 2020 or so. My question is, why is it that some middle-belt people tend to honour this culture of the fulanis despite what their eyes have seen?

Ice Prince from Jos dresses like that sometimes. 2 face from Benue wey no far o, does the same thing, dressing like an emir sometimes, shortly after fulani sahel bandits had laid waste his Benue kinsmen.

I'm not sure if it's a tacit master-slave connection but uhmm, never really mind.

Who is bankrolling him?

Neither the state nor the local government will pay him a dime.

Which dignitaries will visit his palace on a state visit? He is not recognized by the state, yet he continues to blow his own trumpet. Who will join him in singing his forbidden song?

He is like a beggar stationed at the entrance of a government building, seeking alms, but ignored by everyone.

When hunger strikes harder, he will come out of his enclave and find a job.

The Federal High Court overstepped its jurisdiction by intervening in a matter that the State High Court should have adjudicated. For this former Emir to still rely on the Federal High Court's temporary relief to remain recognized as the Emir of Kano shows his desperation and willingness to resort to any means to retain his title.
