A huge chunk of Nigeria’s oil revenue and resources went into developing Lagos since independence just like Abuja today, yet it is one of the worst places to live?

Unfortunately no other Nigerian city was worthy of being assessed but it depends on the parameters used

Earlier year it was ranked the 19th best in the world by Time Out

It's like you can't read and assimilate simple information. The report has just mentioned the 10 worst cities to live in in the world. This means all those cities you mentioned, if they are not on the list, are better off than the ones on the list. Simple!

That's why am surprise Onitsha is not on the list.

The only reason Onitsha and Aba are not on the list is because they are not in the league of major cities around the world like Lagos, New York, London, Shanghai, Dubai etc

All does cities he mentioned are not known as major cities around the world so they are not on the list at all. No city can compete with Lagos in Nigeria.

I don't have the time to dig into the methodology but note that the list is about cities that are pleasant to live in, not cities with fancy structures and economic opportunities. I have been around Nigeria and while I like Lagos, there is no doubt that for a pleasant life there are at least 30 other cities in Nigeria that are better.

About Lagos, the economist is telling white lies. It appears it is using indeces from the worst of lagos to carry out a general assessment of lagos.

I lived in Lagos for about 15 months, worst time of my life. That place is truly bedlam.

Lived in Ogun for about 5yrs, terrible roads

Lived in Ibadan for 4yrs, absolutely love it. Ibadan is peaceful and orderly.
