BlueRayDick: Since his Diesel contains 700 kinikan than imported ones, why not sanction him or shut him down? That should be common sense, yeah. The same diesel wey Dangote dey export to abroad, abi? When Dangote started, i feared he would want a monopoly, but what that agency said is shameful. The market is still open sef. How come nobody is selling cheaper even though they can import? Has anybody stopped anybody from importing? Tomorrow, you can be a businessman and one man that got to DG through padipadi will just come out and condemn your business. There's nothing to support there. If Dangote's product is inferior, shut it down. Is that not the work of the agency again? 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 7:08am On Jul 19 |
izzou: First u need to understand that the diesel being inferior doesn’t mean it is totally unfit for use . I think Gloriousgbola can explain this better for u. Low-sulphur diesel is cleaner for the environment , while high-sulphur diesel is the exact opposite. High-sulphur diesel causes progressive damage to an engine . The agency had mandated the major importers to stop importing high-sulphur diesel since last year. But somehow Dangote wants to be allowed to flood the market with high-sulphur diesel and also be the only source of diesel in the country . If u read the screenshot in my post , u will see where the agency actually allowed Dangote to still be selling his high-sulphur diesel for the main time so he can at least recoup some of his capital investment. The high sulphur diesel is usable , just that it is used for off road purposes . That’s why Dangote can still ship abroad and get people to buy. Even though most western countries are moving away from its usage . I remember when the high-sulphur diesel matter was brought up, Dangote promised low sulphur diesel will be ready by Q2/Q3 2024. That should show u that he knows he’s not yet there 1 Like |

BlueRayDick: Npmdra are capping imho The diesel sold in Nigeria has always been low quality. And rejected in the EU. They are the ones who let in that bad petrol and no one was sacked or sanctioned. So I will take any of their stories about low quality fuel with a pinch of salt. The real issue is that nnpc or npdrma or the fking civil servants are not actually for us to refine fuel. Nigeria has sweet crude. Our crude is very high quality. If they had supplied Nigerian crude to dangote this issue would not have arisen. If they don't have crude to sell to dangote, do they have crude to sell to pH refinery or any other refinery that comes up? Do they actually have any plan for this? This may be why they are suddenly spamming us with tales by moonlight of sabotage of pH refinery. They are content to let all the money spent on the refinery to waste without any result. It's actually no wonder dangote did not hire anyone from nnpc refinery but chose inexperienced genz engineers (there is an article on that). At their core, nnpc has the same culture have the same as ajaokuta, get a salary without generating any value whatsoever. Bureaucratic ineffeciency These clowns are responsible for the status quo and have no plans to change it. So if any other refineries come up, they too would have to import oil using forex and we are back to square one. If course they would look for the cheapest oil they can import which would be oil with sulfur. Tinubu needs to do more and purge these vibes and inshallah civil servants who do nothing and do not mean well for this country. Of course we will then see more meetings of northern politicians. This is becoming imho a fight for a sustainable way of doing things and retaining the old order There is obviously pressure from this admin on them over this matter, which is why we are suddenly seeing a song and dance about 25 million usd for metering all oil facilities, something that should have been in place from day one, and renewed vows to curb oil theft. They cannot tell how much oil Nigeria actually produces 2 Likes |

GloriousGbola: It was last year the marketers were asked to stop Importing high sulphuric diesel by the agency . According to the agency, they are allowing Dangote to supply high sulphuric diesel for now , but they will not give Dangote the monopoly he is craving. I oppose the monopoly as well. He should compete with other market players; he should stop whining . 1 Like |

BlueRayDick:I have also never supported his business method of killing competition, reason i was very happy BUA group matched him with money and power. I remember how Dangote tried to illegally takeover Okpella Cement Company in Edo State from BUA. I believe that statement can harm the Refinery international reputation... |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 7:32am On Jul 19 |
GloriousGbola: U are mixing issues. The crude matter is another matter entirely; that's on Buhari and the guys at NNPC who pledged crude as source of repayment for our loan. They know Dangote was building refinery but dem dey pledge crude wey still dey inside ground as source of loan repayment. Smh 1 Like |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 7:53am On Jul 19 |
BlueRayDick: it is an issue because nigeria should be able to sell oil and have enough for internal use. we have an opec quota we often fail to meet it is an issue because where will ph refinery then get crude from? this is why there is a renewed scramble to confirm exactly how much oil we are producing. no one in any of these agencies actually planed for or expected nigeria to start refining . they are content with the status quo |

....Dangote should forget bickering and rather come up clean. If the Refinery truely ain't ready for production, he should let us know. When I listened to his speech just of recent, I know there is fire on the mountain. Some of us had the belief that his products will crash current prices and bring relieves but seem we are being fooled. He said imported products are usually cheaper, hence [even though he didn't say directly] we shouldn't be expecting cheaper prices for his products. He played a whole country through the former President. You got your fx at subsidized rate yet you still wanna monopolize the market?! I hope Mele Kyari ain't fooling us with PH Refineries too. Sabotage or no Sabotage, August shouldn't turn December or another year. 3 Likes |

liveLongNprospa:Leave am. The statement from that official was in a bad state he reeled out names of local refineries producing inferior fuel, if what he said was true what has stopped the authorities from enforcing standards? It is funny that we are accusing Dangote of monopoly while all he's seeking for is protectionism which countries all over the world do to protect local firms we are seeing how Europeans, Asian and American govts are imposing tariffs against foreign competitors in order to support their industries whilst also granting them loans and other subsidies 2 Likes |

liveLongNprospa: we have not commissioned a refinery in nigeria the past 20 years do they even KNOW how to commission a refinery at this point? all the commissioning checks in downstream - the agency formerly known as DPR is never available they just collect their money and you are good to go. go to any terminal - there is a regulatory official watching movies or playing solitaire on his pc all day. that is all they do. i knew a guy in dpr then assigned to rig. he was so proud of sitting on rig doing nothing. in fact he was rubbing it in my face. you guys are working your asses off getting chewed out and i get paid to sit on my ass a guy i know called them D PR |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 10:37am On Jul 19 |
liveLongNprospa: Nobody is blaming Dangote . 1.Dangote has been requesting for Monopoly for his company as far back as 2021. I shared a screenshot of major marketers opposing that request since 2021. Dangote still made the same request earlier this year and he was denied . 2. Now he goes to the media throwing tantrums about how he’s being frustrated by FG and its agency . The same agency that made FX available to him while other companies were bearing the brunt. 3. The FG comes out to provide clarifications that they won’t give him his desired monopoly because as it stands his diesel has has not yet gotten to the normal standard they are expected to be; but they don’t have an issue with that. Why ? Because they know he will get the right quality when everything is finally set in his refinery . It is u people that are reading the wrong meanings into what the agency said about his product . 4.Dangote will be alright las las . But he’s definitely not getting any yeye monopoly. That was how Otedola that was almost broke turned sudden billionaire due to Zenon oil monopoly that year. |

BlueRayDick: Remove the monopoly aspect and look at the agreement made in general. Which part has FG been able to meet up with? Oil supply which likely makes up the 13% has not been met. There is propaganda and there is action. Dangote knows it is not propaganda they use in running a refinery. Let's not forget him and the president have been having issues since it was obvious who Dangote supported during the elections. This statement by that agency is just twisting facts which industry people are debunking. Whether the FG was expecting Dangote to cover their yansh (because they gave him concessions when setting up the company) forgetting the O&G industry is brutal. |

liveLongNprospa: Who did Dangote support during the elections ? Buhari for 3rd term or Peter Obi ? 🤷♂️ See the relationship between FG under Buhari and Dangote refinery was more like a secret cult. Nobody knew the kind of arrangement they had with Dangote; everything was shrouded in secrecy. One moment u think the refinery is state owned and the next u think it is a private venture .FG made FX available to him through the CBN ( Emefiele still Dey jail for some of those kind issues). I am not one to defend Tinubu and his government but I think I like the fact that they want to open the whole Dangote refinery/Buhari FG yansh outside . I Stan Tinubu government for this one . We Nigerians deserve to know wetin really happen as per the whole refinery “scam”. Shebi Dangote has told us FG only has 7.2% shareholdings in the refinery , make FG tell us how much FX was funneled to him under Buhari/Emefiele/Kyari |
