Pls throw more light here...I thought we can reschedule four times apart from the initial first.
OyoTunjiUSA:

Hey 🤠

1. For example, if your first appointment after visa fee payment is Dec 3rd, 2024 then you have one more time to reschedule to let's say July 30th , 2024. However, you can keep clicking on Reschedule option as many time as you want "date-search idea and back out or log out of cgi if you did not see your desired date ( ie July 30th, 2024).

2. Your reschedule option will disappear the moment you used it the second time (ie from Dec 3rd, 2024 to July 30th, 2024) and you will be left with " Emergency option. Yes, you can use the emergency option to seek for nearer date if you are still not satisfy with your last pick (ie July 30th, 2024).

Best Wishes 🙏

Thank you! Because I have checked some schools' websites, and the requirements are mostly GRE scores, transcripts, English proficiency test results, recommendation letters, Statement of Purpose (SOP), and CV. And if someone has all these and they are up to standard, is messaging a lecturer (or supervisor) really necessary again? I often hear people say that you need to contact a supervisor first, who will then consider your application.
Some schools expect that you be accepted by a research professor before applying. Some schools do not.

Read the school’s requirements.

Please I need advice and if I should proceed, I graduated last year and currently doing my NYSC
My dad said I should try and apply for schools in the US for my masters
I don't know where to start
I studied Geology and Mineral Science and I graduated with 2.2

Budget is about 30-40M
Is this sufficient or I should just stay here in Nigeria

What's your GPA?! The 2.2 doesn't matter.

The University of Permian Basin is there since you are a Geologist and it fits your budget.

There are other schools in the US you can apply to.

You should look at getting your transcript evaluated by WES if you have the finances for it so it doesn't restrict your applications to schools.

evaluate your degree with WES, that's the first step for you.

1. You are a fault finder. I have not read any of your post guiding anyone here since last year. I know any USA visa topic more than you. Form I-20 is simply an Admission letter. Don't tell me the meaning of sevis i know it.

2. @Benwems as attached below have asked that question over 12 hours and no one has given him clue. Therefore, i challenge you to go and answer him and guide him appropriately.

3. Go and look for fresh questions to answer stop correcting @OyotunjiUSA who is almost a professor in this topic. We are waiting to read your answer to @benwems go use your attacking time to contribute.

Can you throw more light on the screenshot below? A 2009 post by one of the founding members of this thread. I mean read gongoaso's post and while both of you are right in one aspect, his post seems to buttress TEMIT0PE's assertion.

Please who paid SEVIS fee recently?

My people in the US are saying western Union is down and I'm wondering if that could happen for days...

Could it be that there is something they are not doing right?

There are other ways you can pay your Sevis fee.
I use Pay4Me App for my cross border transactions, Sevis included. Their processing speed is top notch.

Hey 🤠

1. Western Union is not down.
Your people in the USA have gone to few places and perhaps those locations does not understand SEVIS fee payment thereby prompting your people to come up with an excuse in order to push you elsewhere.

2. Plead with your people to go to a Western Union outlet with Quickpay. Only WU outlet with Quickpay facility understands how to remit SEVIS fee and accept the payment.

3. Prior to number 2 above, go to sevis website and print out " Payment Coupon" which you must fill out with your sevis number and your school sevis code (according to your Form-120) .

4. You will have to email or scan the payment coupon to the payer in the USA which he (the payer) or she must tender to the Western Union outlet on your behalf.

Best Wishes 🙏

Thank you, God bless you

Good morning guys

Please why is it that people don't normally go for certificate and non-degree courses, for US student visa application.
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by JMG12: 1:21pm On Jul 22
People tend to avoid certificate and non-degree courses when applying for a US student visa for several reasons:
1. Visa Requirements and Regulations: The US student visa (F-1 visa) is intended for degree-seeking students. Certificate and non-degree programs may not fulfill the requirements for an F-1 visa.
2. Duration of Stay: Degree programs often continue longer, allowing for a more extended time of legal residence in the United States. Non-degree and certificate courses are frequently shorter, resulting in a shorter length of stay, which may not appeal to certain students.
3. Employment Opportunities: Completing a degree program can lead to greater prospects for internships and Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the United States, which are beneficial for acquiring job experience. Certificate and non-degree program students may have restricted access to these options.
4. Investment Return: Studying in the United States requires a large financial investment. Students may choose degree programs because they are seen to provide a greater return on investment in terms of employment opportunities and earnings potential.
5. Institutional Preferences: Many US educational institutions want to enroll overseas students in degree programs because they are more likely to spend time and money at the university, increasing revenue and diversity.
6. Global Recognition: A USA degree program is globally recognized and is of greater benefit than a certificate program.

Hello everyone , i want to seek an advice ..My brother applied a visiting visa for me and my parents since 2022 and we were given 2024 date for our interview. I recently just got a UK student visa and i will be travelling to the UK just a day before the USA visiting visa interview. I know i will have to submit my passport if i get approved and this will affect my UK travel date. Should i just let go of the interview and just let my parents go alone or should i go with them to the interview and explain to the VO about my UK school and flight predicament?

I would appreciate your input guys.

Thank you.

My brother, apart from the $350 SEVIS fee, how much did you pay as charges on the Western Union payment platform. Secondly, how quickly did the payment reflect.
Thank you

Hey 🤠

1. Your situation is like a complex movie plot. A hard-line consular might deny your USA visiting visa based on the fact that you were supposed to resumed school yesterday as an int-student in the UK but you left that important duty of your life to come and accompany your parents on a tourist visa.

2. Not attending your B1-B2 VISA with your parents and off to resumption in school might be a Big regret of your life if they eventually got the VISA. Perhaps , your UK student-visa might present you to the USA consular as a student from a well-to-do family whose parents are also capable of taking as an accompanying child to the USA.

3. If your USA visa is approved, You will likely wait for approximately 1 week to have your travel passport back and couple with celebration periods with your parents and other family members and friends , it will likely take you 2-weeks after UK school resumption for you to be ready to travel. Wont you have issue at Port of Entry as an irresponsible International student ?

4. This is a test of life. I think you should decide yourself.

PS: Your UK student-visa would be visible to the USA consular and they will verify it right there.

Best Wishes 🙏

If you attend interview t and are approved you won't be able drop your passport since you have a trip . Your trip to the UK is for school so don't worry. As a student in the UK you can apply for a US visa there. There's no long wait for iUS visa interviews dates in UK. Just a few weeks at most

That information is most likely in their data base already (I may be wrong)

What I can say in case of your next application is that you should work on convincing the VO that you're only going to focus on your studies and you can probably add the lines of no cordial relationship between you and your brother.

I saw a video on Tuan's YouTube page. The girl said her aunt in the US didn't grow with them, that the family grew up in Spain. Just trying to convince the VO that she's not going there because of the aunt.

You might be lucky that your next VO would not even bring up a discussion around it. But prepare. Nothing is impossible.

All the best.

Your brother being a citizen has nothing to do with your rejection in my opinion. Many people have family members and were not denied because of this except if the Visa Officer is an over zealous one. You mind sharing your transcript perhaps people can help shed more light?

Hello everyone.
I’m preparing for my interview, and I want to know the embassy’s stance on internships, especially paid ones. Is it okay to say that you’d like to get an internship or not?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by TEMIT0PE: 9:32am On Jul 23
Hello,

Please be aware that (as a F-1 visa applicant) before you even step into the cubicle to talk to the VO, you are already presumed to be an "intending immigrant" and the onus lies on you to convince the VO through your answers that you are not.

Any statement from you that gives off an idea of a pathway to immigration is not going to do you any good during the interview.

Moreover, your program might require you to partake in CPT (which is an internship during your program) anyways.

Please, do not bring up an "internship" if and when asked what you will be doing after you complete your studies.

All the best with your interview.

Please i need advice, I am not getting a date for an interview in Lagos. I paid a new visa fee last year in July 2023 after being denied a student visa with partial funding. The new visa fee will expire on 24th July 2024. I have sent several emails through the provide feedback but they haven't given me an interview date. The site recognizes my visa fee reference number, but they have not yet given me a date. See what I do see on my profile. I will be grateful if anyone can assist me with any helpful information on the next step to take.

Good afternoon guys. I'm sorting of confused. Kind of I'm a novice when it comes to US immigration and stuffs. However, I recently got admission to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Which happens to be a private university. I was so happy, but the tuition fee is outrageous, although they offered about $25,000 Dollars merit scholarship. Despite this scholarship the fee is too high. Mind you I have a sponsor, but the tuition is too high for him. How do I navigate this.
