How would that slow the network further?
These areas are already saturated, hence they have reached capacity. The only way more users can be added is when Starlink commits more resources to these areas or a bunch users move to other unsaturated locations.

As far as reliablity and pricing goes, it's far better than MTN
But the speed has dropped considerably especially during the day
Okay, but still gets the job done

But folks that uses the residential are much more stable than the roaming plan
BadMaster:

If they do that, it would further slow the network down, which is already slow as it is.

I don't know if others are experiencing this. It takes about 10 extra minutes for connection due to searching for satellite. He don choke.

In locations like Lagos and Abuja, the difference isn't much these days.

That's not a capacity issue. Most likely, your Starlink's gps component is now faulty. Mine was behaving that way, I escalated it to support, and I was sent a replacement kit.

Well, may be depends on location in Lagos then. I still get average of 30 to 50mbps during peak periods of the day excluding evenings though.

When I tried to preorder earlier, I was placed on 2025 waiting list. However, another attempt to order to my location now says service will be expanded in 2024.

Hopefully, they will add more satellites cos Nigeria's internet demands is not about meeting needs of users in rural areas, the urban population are tired of cleaning up after major network providers and looking for easy way out

If it persists, open a new support ticket on the issue.

Didn't know Starlink was this generous. My subscription expired for over 2 months, they attempted to renew for me but failed. They didn't cut my service for these two months. I just credited the account some days back and renewed with 76k for the two months. I had thought upon expiration my service would be yanked off immediately

I just needed an active topic slightly related.

Iā€™m about you pay 150k annually for 1.5TB 5g router.

I guess my question is has anyone done this before, is it worth it?

In order words, if one decides to take a break and not use Starlink, will they still deduct normal monthly charge? Or is there a way to pause it when not needed due to travelling?

Hi guys,

Is it me or is the roaming plan no longer available?

Can't even subscribe to residential cos Lagos is at capacity.

Crap.

An update, I reached out to Support and they were able to make the residential plan work for me.

There used to be a way to pause service but that option is no longer there on the app. But I believe if you raise a ticket for your service to be stopped, it would be done. But if you don't stop your service, I am afraid you will still have access to internet while your bill piles up, for how long? I don't know. Speaking from my experience.

Thanks, this the power station I tend to buy,

For those saying why would I turn off my solar when I'm not at home, I don't understand should I leave my solar on if I'm out, spending a day or two outside, I leave alone, not married, nothing in my refrigerator

I will not be comfortable where I'm, when I'm going to spend the weekend outside, I turn off everything in my house. Money to buy the power station is not an issue, I just want to be sure if it can power it and not damage the hardware, and if the ecoflow power station can power it for like a day or two

Hi, I'll like to know more about the stand alone solar pumping machine you have. Was it built or is it a system?
Who did it?
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Loneley: 2:14pm On Jul 28
Nope.

I was on the mobile regional plan that was just discontinued.

Got bluegate when I first bought my Starlink, it was almost N100k forgotten the capacity, I also needed something to hold the Starlink for no more than 30mins, the problem is that the bluegate life depletes with time, and a time will come when you would need more than 30mins. Eventually got a EcoFlow power station for N520k, 720W capacity, takes less than 1hour to charge to 100% and keeps the starlink powered for up to 12 hours. I actually contacted the manufacturer and was told I could use it like a UPS, so now I leave the starlink permanently plugged to the power station, and the power station plugged to a wall socket.

Please where did you buy your ecoflow from?

It still is but perhaps not for new subscribers;
because I still renewed mine some days ago.

Good afternoon, bosses.
I would like to make an inquiry about purchasing my Starlink. I am looking to purchase Starlink. Is there a way I can pay 38k per month since my location (Ikorodu, Lagos) is filled? Also, in the event of my relocation, how do I go about it? Do I still need to start changing the location for my Starlink? Forgive my novice questions. If this has been addressed before, kindly point me in the right direction.

since the roaming plan allows you to move your device to another area.. can i register a device to a particular address that has the roaming plan available and use it in my location?

It gets even better.
350Mbps+ in the afternoon.

What speeds do you get in the evenings? Specifically 6-11PM.
