I and many other Nigerians are making 1 to 10$ from this site daily. No special skill needed but you will need to be enlightened about world affairs and cultures. You also need to have account and know how or these social media works, like YouTube , Twitter, Fb, Instagram etc.
I will drop the link and guide free to those interested.

I just got a remote job, though it's a contract. The pay is not bad because it's even higher than salary in Nigeria. This because I will be paid in dollars. My friend in Nigeria gave me the information to apply for the job.

What job is that please?

Read about Upwork from a Zikoko article in 2020 during covid. Grateful for my last job (if you read my last post on joblessness) but financial situation meant I had to change things. Researched, setup my profile, got my first few gigs which supplemented my income from office which I did for a year and then 2022, a job I applied for which I didn't take serious I ended up landing has now put me in a situation where my former annual salary from my last job isn't even up to my monthly salary currently.

Understand you are competing globally, put in the work and I truly hope you that are reading this you land that forex paying gig that will ultimately change your life. I wish you the best.

I saw a Nigerian wrote an article for the magazine. I thought to myself I could do the same. Then, I sent the editor an email, and the rest was history.

Wow! Great idea.

Was it a online magazine?

It will always be difficult to get what you want in life including remote jobs. But you can go round this by doing something unique to stand out from the crowd.

First, make sure you learn and master sellable digital skill.

Second, build trust and credibility with your target audience.

Third, demonstrate your digital skills through your virtual office i.e. blog website.

Example, when I wanted to start freelance writing many years ago, I offered to write 4 articles for a product creator in exchange for the guide he was selling.

He was selling the guide for $17 then and my 500 words per article was $10. And I ended up doing other freelance writing gigs for him at my rate.

From there I successfully launched that freelance writing career.

But the best way to showcase your skills now is to create a blog around your target market.

Chronicle your journey through blog posts, using niche audience keywords and phrases to write these articles with SEO in mind.

This involves upfront investment anyway in domain name registration and web hosting to run a WordPress blog platform.

Your digital skill can be in anything e g. graphic design, virtual assistance, freelance writing, SEO, consultancy, brokerage in expertise between seller and buyer, social media management,, video editing, just name it.

So, you need credibility to get clients and referral and you have to demonstrate your expertise to earn it.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't want to invest in themselves and future to get sustaining jobs and income.

And be creative in everything you do to attract the type of people and remote jobs you desire to get.

The above steps I took years back worked for me and I am still reaping the fruits of my labour today with many internet businesses that sprung up from that humble beginning.

My 2 cents

Can you explain more on this?
What about for writing? I know how to write good sports(football and boxing) articles very well.
Mbee247:
I got mine through referals, cold dm's work though.

And this worked out too----> Let assume you a video editor and you focused on a certain niche, you narrow down to your target market, you know where they are, you could look through their video content to look for errors in 'em and correct it.

Once you are done with the correction, look for their(target client) email and send to them, although before putting up the video in the email, you would need to compliment them and below the complimentary words, you send the video.

If you are really good, if they like it, they might want to bring you in to work with them.

It does not only work for video editing gigs, it can work for all kinds of digital skills as well like digital marketing, Software development, cyber security and the likes.
