So bagging a first class is now a function of the denomination you attend?

I guess it's a contest among Pentecostal churches in Nigeria because the pastor wasn't even born yet when Catholics started bagging first class πŸ˜‚

It's all about inspiring people to perform better... If you see anything negative in what he said, check yourself.

Why are you people so negative. The man is celebrating his members you're here ranting. Why not tell your Catholic father to reward Catholic students who graduate with first class.

Tell him to celebrate his graduates without abusing the superlative words. The moment you do use those words, you get everyone involved in your business.

BTW, nobody is negative; the pastor was just boasting without considering its implications.

That's not how facts work. You can't just come out and claim something and then assume it's valid because no one else has the time to respond to you.
If you are a GWR holder and nobody has come out to beat your record you still remain the record holder.
Let other churches start their own award system like this and prove MFM wrong, at least he has been doing it since 2011. After all, they too can ginger their youth for optimal academic performance

He never boasted. He said clearly that he stands to be corrected.

Don't mind him. Always ready to pull down the body of Christ at any given opportunity.

GWR holders go through thorough and independent verification, they're not placed on the archives because they said so.

He said he stands to be corrected. I was at the service live don't misquote him please.

He stands to be corrected. So why make an unverified, bogus claim that could turn out to be a lie? No honor in such claims bro. It's better he reeled out the number of first class graduates from his church and leave it at that. For me, that will be more honorable.

A religious center showing how socially responsible it is by doing what governments in all tiers should be doing instead of giving N10,000 to first class students while employing BBnaija prostitutes as PA.

Clear now?

The Church should do more to show how socially responsible they are. If they deem it necessary to establish universities they should likewise establish farms for food security also. Few weeks ago Prof. Olukoya was given a lifetime achievement award by Joe Biden and the Canadian Prime Minister. He is the only African to have received the awards given to just only 50 persons worldwide up till now. Our men of God should consider the impact they are making in the society.

Before making the pronouncement he should've done the research. As a church ... should producing graduates be seen as an achievement?...something to brag about? Is gifting them cars and lump sums as rewards in line with Christian teachings? ... what about the poor within the church? ...and beyond? ... shouldn't they first be the beneficiaries? Do these graduates even believe in God? Christianity and confusion ... same as 5&6.

Re: MFM Has Highest Number Of First-Class Graduates In Nigeria - Olukoya by profmallor: 1:09pm
Dr Olukoya just made a claim, and his words were "I stand to be corrected, but I think MFM has the highest number of 1st class graduates in Nigeria", I am sure you saw the figures presented, the onus is on you to disprove it with your figures, simple.

thesicilian:
I highly doubt this is even true.

In order to arrive at this conclusion, he would have to take census of the total number of first class graduates in every branch of every denomination, including Deeper Life, Christ Embassy, RCCG, Winners etc. Not just in Lagos alone but in all the 36 states and FCT. Not just the pentecostals alone but also Catholics, Baptists, Anglicans, Lutherans etc.

I don't think someone who's supposedly that educated should be making such broad statements without facts to back them up.

The man has a reputation for making wild claims.

Maybe there's a column where first class degree holders filled MFM as denomination or the man conducted census to arrive at this conclusion. He has no evidence, just making wild claims believing that people will accept it especially his members cause he is a pastor

He did not claim it to be a fact. He said "I believe". It is an opinion. If any other religion leaders dispute his claim let them say so and let there be a contest of pushing Nigeria to be the best they could be instead of selling them miracle water. FYI, I am not a member of his denomination

You can just be an independent verifier to counter MFM by going to different denomination to ask for their first-class graduates' records and use it as a yardstick to invalidate his claim.

Perhaps, he should have waited for a member of his church to win BBnaija before bragging.

Perhaps, he should have given them Bibles to be in line with christian teachings.

Perhaps, he is doing nothing for the poor in the church according to you.

Perhaps, you have the instrument for determining whether the graduates believe in God or not.

Most importantly, only you know that christians and confusion are 5 and 6.

I beg to disagree with you here. Some are employed, some are self employed with huge potentials abundance in them. Some are doing their masters degree program why some are doing their phd too. Some are in abroad why some are in Nigeria πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬

If after establishing farms to tackle food insecurity and satisfy people like you that they are socially responsible, the next will be to ask them to establish an army to fight insecurity and insurgency.

The church is not your government sir.
Re: MFM Has Highest Number Of First-Class Graduates In Nigeria - Olukoya by God2man2again(m): 1:30pm
The inspiration behind the awards is to encourage people to 'beat the best and be the best' that is to strive for excellence in their various discipline and it should be embraced by other churches, organization, NGO and so on.

This way, it will help in producing the best student and ultimately the best person for the job, which will result in national and global development.

The question is: has any church or organization emulated this good work by MFM?

Not that I know of.

The statement may be to challenge other denominations to do likewise.

If there are more first class graduates than MFM, then, this statement is an opportunity for them to prove otherwise..
