The law and the Constitution of Nigeria is clear on the matter of inheritance. It is the religion or custom of the deceased that will be used to share his properties.

Shebi statistics revealed that about 99% of Nigerians earn below 500k monthly. Naija is not Lagos or Abuja alone. So it's only 1% of men people will love to drag house with. Hahaha

Leave them. Alot of nigerian women are paying bills alongside their husbands. But these men here come online and be disingenuous. Fact is about only 4 out of 10 Nigerian men are providers

A woman can lift you up so high in life. Na still the bad men make these women regret helping men. Women have been good to me till date. First my coming into this life through my mother and she stood by me even when I wanted to go back so soon. Girlfriends have all been part of my success story. Just choose wisely.

So a naija woman will divorce just for 50% property? The man doesn't know what he is saying.
In my opinion, women in naija don't benefit from marriage. If it ends, you are at the mercy of a man to even see food money for the children. If he doesn't send money, you will be accused of causing it because you poisoned your children mind against him".If the man earns 20m in a month. He will calculate the exact money needed,or send like 100k per month for the kid upkeep,if you resist(based on his earning power) you will be accused of being a gold digger trying to milk him.

You claim women value reduce once they are married and given birth, and no one will be able to marry them afterwards, while you can easily move on and land a chick.yet the idea of paying for a woman whose life is truncated and sexual market value plummeted as a result of her union with with you,is called trying to milk you.

One day, just like Korean women, naija women will say no to marriage until a system that protects them is installed

If una say no to marriage then hunger go kpai 70 percent of una. Is it same Nigerian women who only date and marry for survival or are talking about a different Nigerian women. No matter how your gender try, you can never get the chance to treat Nigerian men like slaves just like your gender are treating those useless western men who gave up their dominance while trying to form woke.

This would have been the most exciting piece I read in recent time until he said she can inherit the properties if her husband dies and this got me thinking what if she add a little.......... in his food or drink.
This is why it's not good to disclose one death benefit for those that work in blue chip companies with life insurance policy.
Again it is good that a man puts his house in order and secure his wife and children future in case of any eventuality to avoid "UMUNNA" reaping where they did not sow too.

if this is so, then the best thing for some women to do, is to murder their husbands, in other to get their wealth. The amount of men dying from various things nowadays is alarming.

You have dominance yet you can’t create a functional society.

Still waiting for the western men who supposedly gave up their dominance to come rescue you.

The jokes write themselves

As in eh. The men that are sole providers aren't up to 20%. Even the housewives are selling things online and the rest. ever heard of Abuja marriages? These guy's target rich men daughters in Abuja(at least rent money is settled ,since the couple will be living in one of their father-in-laws flat). These girls, even when married will still be collecting pocket money from their fathers and foodstuff from their family house when they go visiting and invest it in their families. You will find out that it is just basic bills like subscriptions, water and light bills the men pay in the end. Many are sharing school fees with their wives(I will pay ada own, you pay junior own.)

But it doesn’t take too much to be a good husband. I don’t know why our Nigerian men would rather scheme and play games than just follow the easy path.

Be a husband your wife can’t imagine living without. Do to her as you want her to do to you and you won’t be afraid of such things.

I can proudly beat my chest and say the way my husband is to me now, no amount of money will make me give him up. The money won’t even be fun to spend without him. The point of money is to enjoy it with people who you know got you in all kinds of situations. Otherwise it’s pointless. What am I doing with a big mansion if there’s no one I love to share it with?

So if a woman would rather pick property and money over the man, it means he’s worth less than money to her. There’s something definitely wrong in that arrangement.

Many things people who claim to be saint don’t understand about life. Some of us will have more than 1 wife & be very responsible . While some men will keep sleeping around and have kids outside marriage their choice. What your destiny saying about you ?

are you trolling? You and I know that if women judge men half the way men judge women, no marriage will take place. Ask yourself between men and women which gender point accusing fingers the most as regards immorality. When you have the answer, direct the bolded to the gender responsible for accusing others of immorality

You should have low divorce rates because spouses are feeling loved and cherished by each other. They want to stay with each other. They want to stay married because they feel supported by their communities. Because their kids are happy in the homes they’ve built. They can grow personally and as a couple.

Marriage shouldn’t last because there’s a stigma around divorce. Stigma is not a good thing. It has never been.
What it does is that it shames people into not reaching out for help, for support. Shames them into putting up with dangerous situations. Stigma is disgusting. Do better
shocked

dont know why you parade your assumptions as fact, did you carry out a survey or you have a stat ,
Talking of support, my neighbour drives his pregnant wife to work everyday n return home, is that not love, is that not support, he got her the job which i know about
couples like that is also why divorce rate is low ..

if modern marriages is filled with conditional love, then their is nothing odd about having a "Reason" to stay in marriage smiley

maybe it my accent, I don't think divorce sounds better than "stigma" .. divorces breaks a home and stigma breaks a person ... tbh i dont know why you have a preference undecided

that's why a man should not allow emotions to control his senses, I've an experience with a colleague and also a sister her husband is not having a job, why the wife is working but she's taking all the responsibility but the wife is working in another state their children stay with the wife. The next thing that the man will do is to carry another girl for house planing to marry the 2nd wife and you know woman now the pain started to show on her face, she was forced to tell the first son the boy now challenged his father that why did you want to marry another woman the man didn't have an excuse than to say that his Mom no dey hear word. The woman told the boy that all my salary what I'm I using it for the boy said you are using it to buy foods stuff at home, when old age come the woman will fight her return match because that's the time woman use to wait for when man don't have the strength again. If you are a man and you want to run street run it wisely and invest wisely because old age no funny at all there are many battles awaiting a man.

Witnessed this in my own family. Men, be aware that you will grow old and the women will leave. That wife, if she is still there, will be the one you depend on for your sick needs. If she isn’t there your old age will be filled with sorrow. Saw it with a relative. It was painful to watch. All you have left is children, nephews or nieces, and you pray to God You left them memories enough to care. You are completely helpless and vulnerable and taken advantage of!

Correction I should have explicitly said " a parents duty" ( I was taking one for both).

Cases are decided by human beings not robots and there is a general expectation that parents will do their best for their families in a way that's fair and equitable.

Any departure from this will require extensive contextual explanation. Which is why we have ethical and holographic Wills which allow greater depth for an explanation of why a particular course of action is being taken. Outside of such context a court will apply
a reasonableness test to any Will.

A person can do what he or she wants with their assets but it cannot be illegal, social reprehensible or weird. While courts in western nations may accept a 100% allocation to a pet dog, Nigeria and global south Nations are not there yet.

Many thanks!
This quite enlightening.

Are you practicing?
I have something I'd love to get your view on.

I have always advised men to build alone . Never build ur home with ur wife! It is risky . Very risky. I witnessed a 60 year old wife and 67 year old husband fight bitterly cos the man had a son outside. The wife knowing fully well she contributed to the property they live in which happens to be only house. Asked court to sell off the property and give her more than half of the proceeds. She provided strong evidence and that house was sold. Old man is now a tenant, old woman moved in with her son after brainwashing all her kids to hate father

Hmm.. A curious story.

Did he have the child outside of the marriage, or before their marriage.

If before the marriage, was she fully aware of the child?

Fair judgement!
Why will the man have a son outside?
U only critiqued the effects of an action but said nothing about the action itself!
