It's not high speed and the coaches are 2nd-hand trains Sanwolu but from Canada. But it's a good start at least, especially since it took Lagos more than 20 years to complete this rail system 7 Likes |

Lanrelagboi:The trains are used trains Sanwolu purchased in Canada and the news was shared on nairaland when he went for the purchase. The intercity rail system was first initiated by Governor Bola Tinubu in 2003 under "Lagos Urban Transportation Project". Besides the BRT network, the rail network never took off as it was postponed multiple times by successive governors until Sanwolu. 13 Likes 1 Share |

See what a black man is reporting as news and celebrating in this present time. We're so used to to mediocrity in this part of the world. 4 Likes 1 Share |

leodregat: How are they 2nd hand trains? That they were built for another customer in the USA who eventually did not complete the purchase order, does not make it 2nd hand if Lagos is the first user. Is Milwaukee in Canada? 54 Likes 8 Shares

Can anyone alive believe that a certain group of people did not vote for the man that accomplished this project instead they want to force a foolish soul who does not reason in the way of his people on Lagosians. Claimed is name was Chinedu only to suddenly change it to Gbadebo to fool who ? Definitely not the great Yorubas. Yet they will be the ones claiming someone voted out of tribalism, can any rationale being give me 1 single reason why you will have GRV vs Sanwolu in an election yet you chose to vote GRV. Do such fools not need mental evaluation to save them from foolishness.. Just one single reason even if it's a bad one n earn 10K. 59 Likes 7 Shares |

Throwback:Yes I think this the story, U.S not Canada. Okay if it says they're not 2nd hand, I didn't see that part then, but the trains don't look so new too |
Re: Lagos Red Line Rail Begins Partial Operations (Pictures) by Lanrelagboi: 6:36am On Aug 29 |
leodregat:The trains were bought from Milwaukee in the US not Canada. They have never been used on any rail tracks before so theu are not second hand. The blue line construction was started by previous administrations but the red line was kicked off by the Sanwo-Olu administration. @mynd44 isn't posting false news a against Nairaland rules? 53 Likes 6 Shares |

Lagos State government is trying, but can still do better. The central government led by Senator Bola Tinubu isn't trying at all! Instead of focusing on redeeming the battered image of his administration by providing good governance, which is the primary responsibility, Tinubu is making all efforts to silence oppositions of his maladministrative government and using tax payers money to pay media thugs to assassinate the characters of oppositions. Tinubu must be kicked outta power!!! 7 Likes 1 Share |

leodregat: Fake news. The trains are not used. A city ordered for the trains, but there was an election before they finished building the trains and the new government decided that it didn't want the trains. The Lagos State Government then bought it from the manufacturer. I created the thread back then. The Red Line was started and completed by Governor Sanwo-Olu. 53 Likes 8 Shares |

naptu2: So this madness happens in saner climes too, whereby a govt will initiate a project that is beneficial to the people, then his successor comes in and cancels. Well, I rarely see abandoned projects through successive administrations though. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Lanrelagboi: Some Nigerians will never experience good things in their life time. A government brought good initiatives but some children of perdition are saying the train coaches are second hand , that is their only compliment to the project. God will continue to keep our leaders and give them wisdom. 26 Likes 2 Shares |
