Ah han. This is more like it.. I also like the fact that you highlighted the reasons alongside. Cool. smiley

Biko. I have one question to ask you. Having watched BBA seasons over the years, will you say Nigerians not liking a housemate (or rather, hating) is a factor of that particular housemate's personality or gender?

Well, the only thing I can tell you from my observations, is that the female's "entertainment" factor is only considered when both Nigerian housemates are female.
At least, that was the only time the 'sluttyy' Karen was hyped properly by Nigerians for her entertainment value.
Morals and carriage are emphasized when the contestants are mixed. Nkenna, as interesting as her stories were, was too 'local'.
And I speak with every authority that, had Karen made her debut in BBA8, alongside Melvin, she would've been toast.

That's all I can say about that.

I for one think Zimbabwe has had some of the best female reps as far as intelligence goes. SA as well, I mean even Ghana has had some awesome female reps; Comfort, Eazzy, now M'am Bea. Mimi and Selly were their worst. Our own story is different. Denrele abeg try for us small....maybe intelligent Nigerian women don't like the show cry

Me I like Lillian, she isn't perfect and neither is Tayo or anyone of us. Most people I know are voting for 2 of them and some people have even chosen Lillian over Tayo. I've read some posts here sef saying we should let Tayo go and focus on Lillian, some people feel she even has a better chance. So it's just personal preference

I think Nigerians generally have double standards regarding women so some of it shows in how the female housemates are judged harshly

we really should. Imagine someone expecting me to clap for women who have portrayed the average Nigerian woman as trashy, slutty, talkative airheads, Ofunneka and Geraldine being the only exceptions. Would Chimamanda be proud of these women that have failed to show common sense? I know this isn't a morality show, but I won't cheer for dummies just cuz they're women. Haba! I just want a female rep of ours to speak intelligently like Vimbai or even that boring Fatima
I understand you though. Saw that thread of yours and I think your beef has a link to how women's attitude play a big role to why sexist act the way they do. Might be wrong though.

Anyway its all good. The problem stems from the unfair selection process.

I liked Nkenna, as ridiculous as her stories could get, there was a naija flavor to her words, like when D'banj came with naija food and she went "omo, na to siddon for ground chop this one....you can't use fork, you will only enjoy the food with your hand". I particularly liked when she stuck her neck in by talking to Itai about not putting up her people and the way she handled him when he went against her wishes. At some point I preferred her to Kev who wasn't even trying to look out for his people, but her stories...eish! They were cringe-worthy. She was a Real Gee though smiley

Trash is trash, when a girl can't control what comes out of her mouth, even her 'beauty' counts for zero.

I'm really disappointed when people can't face the truth especially when it comes to their own reps in BBA. A girl like Lilian could have been top of the game but every time she opens her mouth she just runs herself down. Another Beverly in that respect.

I for one wish we just once had a girl like RSA's Koketso; that's one girl I really admired. Not saying she was the finest or 'hottest'. But a girl who can't finish a sentence without the 'f' word of the 'sh..t" word is really shameful. From her intro video I just knew she would turn out like this (Lilian.) For once I'd like to have been wrong.

lol...u cant blame ochon...its so annoying the way some pipl belittle our female reps...the male reps are the UNTOUCHABLES while the females r always TRASH! Little wonder Dillish almost got more votes than bev in bev's own country.yes i understand that when u have two reps,u must have to sacrifice one,but why must it always be the females who get sacrificed?sa chose sammy over nlahlanh afterall.and even when we sacrifice our female reps must we do that with humilation? May God bless karen and bev who rose above hate ,hate brought upon them by their own compatriots. Most annoying of all these is the fact that most of d bashings come from ladies.SHAME!!

Ninny, let me just be open minded a lil here. Note--- I am not taking sides. Like I said I just want to be open minded a lil.

Now look at the above quote in bold care-fully.

Will you say those supposed female haters are doing it just for the hate/jealousy OR cos they feel the reps in question are painting womanhood in a bad light which does more harm than good in todays world where women are seen as nothing but sex objects?

This is entertainment for the people,if we want to talk about morals and standards based on intelligence or good composure then we should call for a stop to Bba.
Why should you expect a chimamanda or oby ezekwesili in bba house?

Why should you be shocked when a girl or guy make out in the house? Have they not been warned or exposed to what is likely to happen? How many chimamandas would agree to be in the same house with men for three months? They all bathe in the same room, sleep on the same bed and do all stuffs together?

You already know what the show bba is all about,so why cry when you see a contestant act the way she acts?

When has few women in a show like bba become a standard to measure all women in a particular country?
Moreover, when did being an entertainer in bba become equivalent to being intelligent?
If we can say the bba female reps so far are not intelligent then we are safe to call the top actresses dumb too. Reason being that they entertain the general public.

BBA2 - Ofunneka - Nigerians didn't like her until Lerato, Kwaku and the other clowns ganged up against her.

BBA4 - Nkenna - Nigerians didn't like her village swag, but they did go all-out for her on that one occasion she was nominated.

BBA4 - Geraldine - Nigerians didn't like her. She was a bore.

BBA6 - Vina - When the pre-season pictures were first released, Nigerians thought she'd be the one; but her British accent, irritating behavior and constant licking of Lomwe's asss made them have a rethink. They still supported her whenever she came up.

BBA6 - Karen - Nigerians hated her the first night they saw her, and her run-ins with other housemates on the first week made everyone believe she was a goner. They were prepared to receive her at MMIA... Until HOH Miss P saved her for that week. She and Luclay became the most entertaining housemates for that season, and the day she left herself up on the nominees table already sealed her fate as an undisputed winner. She is the first and only Nigerian housemate to have received Zimbabwe's vote post-UtiVsMunya.

BBA7 - Goldie - No, we didn't like her. She gave us no reason to. She merely was Prezzo's housegirl.

BBA8 - Beverly - All I have to say is, "LOL".
OMG! you really watched BBA. i would have given the same answer. weldone.

I wonder ooo. I'm thinking if we send in someone even passably respectable, they know we will win. Again. So the organizers just sabotage our chances. We definitely have chicks waaaaaaay better than Lilian that must have auditioned (but didn't belong to the Denrele Network grin)
