So, a photo of the LUH in the air, in the year 2014 is deceitful?

The fleet was only recently grounded pending the re-organization of maintenance paperwork after the man responsible for managing such documentation left the SAAF.

This is a sign that SAAF takes maintenance seriously, unlike the NAF who let their fleet get to the stage that most of their airframes had to be sent overseas to be fixed.

Reposting fraudulent A 109 helicopter photos of grounded helicopters that don't fly again. Barawo Banza !

Why are you posting like a 12 year old?

What jets?

You dont have any

Since we are talking about planned acquisitions, then I guess I shoot down all of your Junk Fighters with Uhmkonto ground based SAM's

#Checkmate

Best proposed still under development Umkhonto anti-aircraft missile has maximum altitude of only 15 km.

JF-17 Thunder max altitude is about 17 km.

The whole of South Africa has NOTHING to stop JF-17 Thunder jet, it will fly above your missile defences and rain b.ombs on SANDF till infinity.

With zero air-to-air combat.... they wouldn't know what to do if they saw a Gripen on their radar.

Those Su-30 jets are second-hand 10 years old rejected by India and much cheaper price than the brand new JF-17. Mumu cheesy cheesy

The JF-17 is a Chinese reject.

SAAF will not be using the AHRLAC, it was developed for export.

We have the Hawk LIFT which is our primary CAS platform.

And again, where did you get the number of 24 scorpions from?

Hawk jet is just like Alpha jet, light ground attack NOT a COIN aircraft.

AHRLAC is for COIN or else what will you do with that paper toy? Air superiority - Interceptor role?

24 Scorpion jets NAF wants, it was posted by you and other South Africans here repeatedly many times last month November, you were very happy to post the story from Janes Defence then, but now the story scares you because it means NAF wants 40 JF-17 + 24 Scorpions = 64 jets

All air force chiefs in this world including SAAF, will choose 40 brand new JF-17s over 6 second-hand Su-30s. Common sense.
.

A second hand Su-30 knocks off a brand new Junk Fighter from the air.
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by ActivateKruger: 4:52pm On Dec 06, 2014
A 14-year-old Gripen would knock off a brand new Junk Fighter... period

Junk Fighter block 1, 2 and 3 are all inferior to Gripen C/D. period. I told you to look at their combat radius.
Most fierce and powerful fighters which are powered by single engine have a very low combat radius reason being they carry very heavy ordnances .In contrast the Junk Fighter with all its variants carry very light ordnances.

Poooh Pooooooh cheesy cheesy

Difference between JF-17 and Gripen payload is only 700 kg which is small. Both jets carry almost equal weight of ordnance.

Thunder has advantage of many more weapon options including Stealth and Multi-purpose Cruise Missiles.

Thunder also carries both western and eastern origin weapons, another big plus over the Gripen.

JF-17 combat radius almost doubles the Gripen, any smart pilot will give up 700 kg of 2 extra bombs to fly double range into enemy territory

Guess Oerlikon guns with CRAM capabilities will never allow any missile, bomb and PGM(s) to hit the ground.

Air defence:

1. Jets.

2. GBADS(radars, other sensors, missiles, guns, C2 and more)

3. Air force radars.

All linked with data links, the best in the world aka Swedish.

Anti-radiation missile will knock out all your radars and blind all your air defenses.

ECM will jam all your sensors.

Smoke rockets will blind all your thermal systems.

Unguided rockets in salvo mode cannot be stopped by CRAM especially from 40 JF-17 Thunders.

SANDF is screwed like roasted pork

the tech is originally their's.
No, they joined the programme in 2005. Years back Denel was contract by the FAB(Brazilian air force) to prepare facilities for production in Brazil.

After SA did a lot of work on one of their missiles, even supplying them with the seeker.

Joining the programme meant they jumped from 3rd Generation to 5th Generation.

so what are you insinuating?,that without denel, the FAB cant developed a powerful AAM?.the FAB hasnt developed a SRAAM yet because of the cost of production and maintenance of equippments they dont see the need.

They can but studies, development, training and all other things that come with developing a new missile would've been massive.

Nigeria can't develop a powerful AAM though.

New turret for the rooikat? Photos are from the armed forces day 2014, this really snuck up on me as i can find no info on it(with the exception of one or tow forums).Cant really see what type of turret it is but it looks very similar to the falcon turret Jordon uses on the mbt, dus 120mm smoothbore autoloader.turret also looks like it might be sporting a leds-150 active defence system. BTW the armed forces day as far as i know isnt a public event and all vehicles are either in service with the SANDF or in the reserve force.

SANDF must really love this one because they didnt even bother to market it at aad2014(i was there, it was aswum)!

SANDF Rooikats have a 76mm gun copy of Italian Oto melara. Rooikat gun is reputed incapable of shooting straight.

Mongoose defense system is NOT operational yet
