What bothers me is why techies always like to show off their knowledge by arguing and condemning. SD Card isnt necessary in this and next generation, the reason is simple. Cloud computing saves us all the energy of shopping for large Gb storage from hardwares. Samsung has cloud service, so what I and every other futuristic person do is store all your files in the cloud play them right from there using any of your samsung phones, tv etc. Stop arguing about SD, it simply makes you sound so 19th century. No insult intended.

Techies do a whole lot more than just store data on sd cards. SD cards facilitate a very wide range of dev work. For example I have been working on porting Ubuntu touch to the Samsung Note I. I'd be screwed if I didn't have an sd card. Also can u really honestly rely on Cloud storage? Are you gonna put sensitive information on file cloud? I'm a bit of a paranoid person when it comes to my personal data so I encrypt both my phone and card. If Sony corporation can be taken down by small time North Korean hackers, any mega corporation can also be taken down. For me, no sd card, in-built battery means No-buy.

Yea, I know it comes with 32gb as the lowest model (smart move). But u can't say for sure if touchwiz is faster. Sense has always been way faster and smoother than touchwiz. In the review by technobuffalo, the s6 still stutters a little when pressing the home button. It still takes lik e 1-2 seconds for the weather widget at the home screen to load. This is without even downloading any apps, what will happen when u load it with apps. This is something u will never see in HTC one m7/m8 not to talk of m9.
True , htc is close to stock , that's why it's quite fast unlike samsung's touchwiz. it isn't slow either ; i must say touchwiz has greatly improved compared to the one we have now. Well , good thing we have custom roms grin + check out this review

In as much as cloud storage is good and in future, it is not yet there for a country like Nigeria. U talk as if it is free to upload stuff into cloud. I know how much data I waste to upload my pictures to Dropbox and one drive. To upload a 1gb movie to one drive u would probably use almost 1gb of data. And then to stream it u end up using another 500mb. So every time I stream movie or music I waste data, I don't see any sense in that especially in Nigeria where data is expensive.

I don't get the need for ur rant. If u can't afford a Mercedes, buy a Toyota. It's as simple as that. Cut ur cost according to ur size. Good things don't come cheap in every part of the world.

But it's bout preference, so anyone can like what suits him.

I got an iphone 6, after 1 week I sold it and ran back to android grin

As for me I'm beginning to rethink. Its not must to have sd card slot or removable battery in modern phone..
If you need large storage Samsung Galaxy S6 comes in 16gb, 32gb, 64gb & 128gb versions so you can choose..
I believe S6 supports OTG..
If you flash custom roms otg is a way out..
No FM because most fm station now have app to listen online..
No removable battery because the battery be charged up to 50% in 30mins. And can play video for 2 hours with just 5-10mins charge..
Tecno phantom Z mini has no removable battery, No sd card slot. Tecno are embracing no sd card slot, No removable battery...
The only thing that is permanent is change..
Let's embrace it...

I like the simplicity of iOS, more user friendly, more secure and NEAT. The so called customizability of androids give me a headache

But like you said, it's pretty much down to personal preference

I got an android, after 1 hour I chucked it into the nearest lagoon and bolted back to iPhone grin

One drive and mictosoft azure re very safe and encripted...it ll take 100yrs to break into it
Leopantro:

are you aware that onedrive has a problem that Microsoft has been unable to fix? upload speed has no issues but download speed is limited to 355kb/s. have confirmed it on laptops but not on phones. it's still an open question on the Microsoft forum that is yet to be solved.imagine trying to sync files across devices with that limitation.

the cloud has great merits but with the constant thread of hacking, as the past have showed us, is it secure. you have to factor being online real-time to access your files. in developed countries that's not an issue. Nigeria is getting there but not there yet.then again, they didn't make such phones with third world counties in mind

another issues with the internal memory, if you take pictures a lot your thumb files keep increasing in size.mine gets up to 3gig. if I get a 32gig version of which 6 gig will be for NAND and OS, subtract another 9gig for two or more ROMS to flash. that's more than half already gone for files I can't move to the cloud.

pity I can't have my own personal cloud. or can't I?
