Nigerian youths and always chasing shadow everywhere. Who cares about who the next senate president is or where he is from?

Can folks discuss how APC would use being the majority to effect laws that will change the country structurally and perhaps economically? That is what I'm interested in.

They can give it to medusa for all I care.

It will take the big wigs senators in pdp of igbo extraction to defect to APC now so as to position for the senate president.
commisioner of finance imo state won the senate sit under apc

I guess he is a first timer; as such he won't get it. The position of president of the senate is for experienced people.

Hope you know Igbo people are intelligent than you and your people...always keep that in mind. Yoruba didn't have anyone in the seat of power for the last 4 yrs...president, vice president, senate president, deputy senate president, speaker, deputy speaker and chief justice of the federation. We made a silly mistake. Had it been we voted Ngige , he would have been the most likely next senate president.

Now an igbo man can neither be the senate president nor speaker. Hence not represented in the first 4 citizens.

Word on the street is that Ekwunife campaigned vigorously within the grassroots of the senatorial zone, mostly courting women.
In fact, folks are saying that she would still have won even if she was in the KOWA party.
If that's the case, she played her cards well!

Igbos will never be savvy in politics. Guess one can't eat his cake and have it. They already ate the business cake. They shld learn not to be dogmatic in reasons/philosophy. Igbos are more emotive than cognitive undecided
They have got sharp business acumen but lack political skills. They should take lessions from Jagaban!

why drink panadol for someone else headache? Rochas as an APC man what is his current position in the Party? and Ogbonnaya Onu and the rest of them are they not Igbo men ? I do not see any hate in the Igbo politics as someone commented I am not from SE but enough of all these ethnic wars and tribal sentiment , the senate president should go to any region what difference does it make to the region in question? what has mark done that no one has ever done as a senate president to his own people ? what of the likes of late Chuba Okadigbo? Pius Anyim , Ken Nnamani etc what did the igbos benefit from these big names senate president , now that the change is here let us focus on seeing the nation move ahead and move out the usual ethnic divide and work for unity and progress that is what we represent , that is the call we should obey.

Senator Remi Tinubu may also be the first female senate president. Hoping that the Jagaban of the universe will not contest the position.

Hmmmmmm......And you think after gate crashing, they can still bluff their way up d ladder without a fight by those who brought about d victory? Ideally it wuldv sufficed better to hav a SEastnr as d Sen Pres. but its a hard call as things stand.

Igbo will spearhead the opposition just like Yoruba did in the GEJ government. Stop worrying about Igbo. Yoruba are true definition of hypocrisy

We Anambra central did not make any mistake by rejecting Ngige. He was nothing but a waste of space, we need a performer not a senate president. Will Nigeria allow a senator who stayed in the house for 4 years without sponsoring a bill to be their senate president?

The Igbo race is the architect of their own destruction. They have never been able to consolidate themselves politically. They think about the gains first rather than the mission. Little wonder they fight themselves like crazy. This election should be a lesson to them.

The Igbo race first needs to form a strong political party and pursue their relevance to the national level. This is the only way an Igbo President can emerge. First you must be relevant, then your allies would come join you to achieve your dreams.

We can see that the North is really relevant in the scheme of things politically. The South-west, thanks to the great Jagaban has proved that they cannot shut them out. The Igbos must build quietly and earn the trust of the Niger deltans, then merge with the North. They must select for themselves a national leader, who must not necessary pursue personal ambition but collective ambition of relevance. If they can do this, in 2019 or 2023 there will be an Igbo president.

If yoruba's are hypocrites. Then what are Igbo's? Yoruba's are true defination of patrotism. They stood up for Nigeria when patriots were required not ethnic bigots. Yoruba's did not blindly support a failed president that was leading Nigeria to destruction. Infact yoruba's are heroe's that have been keeping this country together and have saved Nigeria once again.
All the best in life as opposition.
