I can't understand why GEJ/PDP are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. The official handover date is May 29 (democracy day). That has being the norm in the past 16 years. That is why the sudden change of date look suspicious.

Lol. Ogbeni, Jonathan has precedent that ain't comfortable with most Nigerians. We have constitution, so we follow it. Anything deviating from the constitution is illegal and corruption. After all, Jonathan said May 29 handover date is sacrosanct. He didn't say May 28. smiley

Is the May 29 date in the constitution? please point it out.

I wonder when youths that are supposed to be the future of this country would drop partisan politics and think through some issues logically and with common sense. It is rather painful that several people choose to be blinded by "followership" and support illogical arguments.
No matter how much you love the incumbent and hate the incoming, there is some sense and valid point raised in the concern that it is not proper for hand over to occur several hours before swearing in the next day. This is the issue that should be looked at. Handover and swearing in should occur simultaneously to avoid vacuum in government. Even if there is no evil motive behind this suggestion of separating the events, it is not late for GEJ to readjust to the usual practice due to the valid concerns that have been raised.
This is a simple matter that does not require attacking APC for raising or defending PDP for their move. Please youths, lets be reasonable in our arguments and not making issues out of non-issues.

Bruv, I can assure you with my life that Jonathan would be the most disgraced president ever in the history of the world.

You seem not to see the level of interest of America and Britain in Buhari presidency

US/UK will finish Jonathan and his inner caucus like Ngozi Iwealla, Maduekwe and the rest.

Hehehehehehe joker. Disgraced president indeed.

I think APC is trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Jonathan remains president until after Buhari is being sworn in. Buhari isn't president until he is being sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Federation. The handover is just a handing over of some symbolic documents, nothing more. Handing over of some other vital documents continues even after the swearing in.

Besides the constitution never said anything against handing over on the eve of swearing in date.

On the contrary, Buhari wouldn't play politics with human lives the way GEJ did. The killing and destruction of criminals and terrorists is the only thing that will be sacrosanct. You shouldn't be worried if you're not one of them.

but the constitution clearly stated it that he is not eligible undecided

So let me get this straight. If you apply for a job and the company wanted at least your diploma certificate yet you only had your secondary school certificate does that mean .... The company will give you the job ?
Guy man, I'm becoming tired of you osmiley Stop confusing yourself and don't confuse me as wellsmiley

Ohhkay, the constitution says at least SSCE, GCE, WAEC for presidency eligibility. Buhari has more than the minimum. Now, that made him qualified and eligible. But, according to you, he is/was nat eligible.

Now, back to your 'job' analogy. the company said at least diploma certificate, my guy had 'only' secondary school certificate. Isn't that quite obvious that my guy is very ineligible?

Lastly, the constitution never said Buhari wasn't eligible. The constitution is there as a standard and blueprint for contestants to abide with.

Ogbeni, take it or leave it, Buhari is the president. No Jupiter can undo that..not even me and you. So bruhs, make we accept change and move on, biko.

There is a difference between handing over and swearing in.

the swearing in is taking place on May 29. I wonder why people can't understand the difference? the handover is just the night before which has to do with welcoming and ushering in the new government to be sworn in the morning after and briefing them all other information needed. which is OK to take place before swearing than after immediately upon swearing in, the government can kick into action.

I understand now that it's all bout hate. Nigerians hate Jonathan so much that it is generally accepted that nothing good can come from him abi,
very unfair. if that man can concede defeat for the greater good of our country, it's sad to know that Nigerians can't trust him on a simple handover.

Guy, indeed there is a difference. And its because of this difference that the two processes should be done simultaneously to avoid a vacuum in the governance of this Country. If you understand politics and governance very well, you would know that 8 hours between handover and swearing in is a very big risk for a country wherein there is no one accountable for the leadership of the country within those hours.
And that's the concern being voiced out, which any reasonable person should understand.

As for GEJ, I won't miss him a bit. I knew he's a failure even before he started.
