OK. Let's say that the people threatening him are not Boko haram but the fact remains that he is under threat for exercising his human right of choice of converting from one religion to another.
This is not the first time and this will not be the last time we will hear of people being persecuted for converting from Islam to another religion. Islam has no tolerance at all.

Stories like this make people dislike Islam the more. People won't want to join a religion of violence, a religion that places them under bondage and that doesn't allow them to exercise their right to make choices for themselves.

The verses of the Quran are over a thousand years old, I have quoted the verses of the Quran not my own words. Islam was never established by Muhammad (May the peace and blessing of Allah be with him), He was just a messenger, no different from Isa (Jesus) or Musa (Moses). Islam is the religion of Allah, and it means submission to the guidance and the way prescribed by Allah (subhanahu wa Ta'alla).

And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e., do not worship Taghut besides Allah)." Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). (Qur'ân 16:36)

After Allah created the world, He periodically sent down messengers as guidance to mankind, amongst Allah's messengers is Ibrahim (AS), Jesus(AS), Musa (AS), Noah (AS) etc.

And, indeed We have sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad); of some of them We have related to you their story and of some We have not related to you their story, and it was not given to any Messenger that he should bring a sign except by the Leave of Allah. So, when comes the Commandment of Allah, the matter will be decided with truth, and the followers of falsehood will then be lost. (Qur'ân 40:78)

It is He Who has sent down the Book (the Quran) to you (Muhammad SAW) with truth, confirming what came before it. And he sent down the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel). (Quran 3:3 )


And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs, [saying], "Bring out your people from darknesses into the light and remind them of the days of Allah ." Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful. (Quran 14:5)


The words of Allah are forever true.

If indeed God sent Quran, Torah and Gospel, why is it that Muslims did not believe in what is written in the Gospel and if you claim that Christians have change its original content, why is it that Muslims did not have a copy of the original Gospel book. Muslim believe that Jesus is a messenger of God, why is it that Muslim don't believe that Jesus is a son of God, who died on the cross and shed his blood for the forgiveness of sins which is very clear in the book of Torah that there is no forgiveness of sin without offering of animal blood and his resurrected on the third day
