angelo82: You are right but the slow growth in banks share price is expected to continue as investors would still be reacting to the massive loan write off by banks for FYE 2015 arising from the huge exposure to oil and gas industry. Also, most banks are still suffering from liquidity strain despite the CBN maintaining the CRR at current rate which is another factor dealing a great blow to the shares. In summary, the first beneficiary of the oil price u-turn will be the primary players. With the strong fundamentals SEPLAT parades, I wont be surprise if its shares find its way back to the league of expensive stocks in the market within a short period. |

DeRuggedProf: It seems most of the banks are exposed to oil and gas sectors but just some are more exposed that the others. |

One day someone will ask where he was when stocks were at the present prices. How history easily repeats. I used to ask 2yrs back where I was when GTB/ZENITH/NASCON/DANDSUGAR were selling as if a GUN was pointed at the STOCKS. A Year from now, by DEC analysts will come up with wnderful valuatiins after GTB and Zenith must have crossed N20. The seasons of our hearts have to be mastered. Someone that was happy to pay N3.5 for UBA now waits at N1.50..m 6 Likes |

Hello everyone, I want to create an investment portfolio for the Long term. 5-10 yrs and all dividends will be re invested. The objective is to plan for the future as I'm self employed and do not have a pension plan. I will be glad if you can recommend some companies to consider. |

mercylicious: Freed my cash after the profit warning. Only God knows how He answers our prayers because I won't mind if that stock crashes wella o against the wishes of some. It is well. Zenith and Fidelity were involved but I guess not as significant as FCMB and FBN. There is an article that actually says otherwise. Will post it when I find it. 1 Like |

mrsage: You can invest in stocks like Nestle, Wapco, Seplat, Oando, FBNH, Zenith, GTB....If your bias is penny stocks transcorp, tigerbrands, FCMB, diamond bank, Mansard won't be bad idea. |

ihedioramma:Agbalowomeri posted recently: FCMB is a good buy at 65 kobo. They will definitely report a loss for the year end 2015. Q3 was still conservative. Born2berich also said: Blood of Jesus!! 85% loss before tax and 87% loss after tax....Omo...This stock go near car park be that....No wonder I saw 52M offers spring up from nowhere towards the end of trade. |

From my experience following this thread, I know that when I see a post in which the person gleefully asks other people to sell their oando/fcmb/and all the nonsense insurance stocks so that they can buy it because they know that the stock price will appreciate or their "company" wants to acquire more percentage of the stock........... I know that 1. the person dosent know what he/she is saying 2. The said stock will continue to fall into the abyss 3. Don't ever listen to them P.S pls make sure to offload said stock 1 Like |

IHelp:Hmm.. are you sure of this bolded part? Are you sure it's not better sometimes to run when others are running, and find out why later? Remember that Buffet, the author of this aphorism, invests for a ten-year period at least, enough time for any wounds inflicted by a falling knife to heal. Supposing you got greedy on fcmb, for example, some moons back when we got fearful over it, and started dumping it after failing to release Q3 results with other banks, how you would be hating Buffet by now. But I agree, if one is willing to stay long on it, there is money making opportunity on fcmb now, when it bottoms out. 1 Like |

For the now,I still believe in FCMB because they told investors that there is going to be a drop with respect to Q3 & Q4 2014 Financial Results! This denotes profound integrity and a sign that all is still well. On the other hand,Oando didn't do what FCMB did; and this is a great sign of lack of integrity! 1 Like |
