Hmm for me

Libido is at the lowest / non existent when I'm pregnant.
I just do it for doing sake - max twice a month.
After my first baby that weighed 3.61kg with tears ( tho they healed pretty fast)
I worried about resuming 'duty' but with the help of a lubricant it went ok tho the first two times were wierd.
But as soon as the baby started sleeping well and I had help it became so good, even better than before. Averaging 5 times a week and the result I took in almost immediately

Now I have two kids under two. It's harder. Now that we are getting into a routine and baby is sleeping better; my libido is rising

Also Post partum depression is real.
Iv suffered it with my two children. It also contributes to low libido

In summary after child birth every woman should
1. Surround herself with family
2. Get / accept help (in any shape and form)
3. Get a lubricant ( at least for the first 2/3 times)
4. Be patient with the process. The libido won't go straight to 100; it will build up

For men reading this
1. Help your wives with house chores or carrying; Playing with / feeding the baby
2. Compliment her: even though her tummy hasn't gone completely flat, tell her she is beautiful; stretch mark and all
3. Take your time with fore play
4. Be sensitive to her moods: if baby had cried all day and she has had a stressful day, sex is the last thing on her mind. Just cuddle her
5. Be patient with the process too

The twins placenta were seen as one. It fused together, even the Doctors and midwives who delivered them initially thought it was one not until the second twin came out and they saw the placenta it was joined together by a tiny membrane. It was my husband who separated it and put in separate pots before burying it.

Ohh really urs too was seen as one? Okk, I rest my case. Thanks for the response. Earlier, when I was told the sexes I did not ask how many placenta, I just went on to start shopping as told but last week when I was referred again I decided to ask and was told one and I became confused. Would has discussed with dr yesterday if not for my mood.

My colleague and friend who had her baby in December never resume duty. I come wonder why?

@olubankemi for twins, it's at an early stage they get to see if they are sharing placenta or not.
Don't just worry your head....like one mama said, twins come with a lot of surprise.

But as regards having people around to avoid depression, my hubby doesn't like full house. Infact he's the reason why we are both alone. Now that am looking for house help he is giving so many unmentionable excuses which me I know it's to make me forget househelp.

He even said he prefer to hire a nurse who will come bath baby and go after bathing. He doesn't want families around. How will I cope now? If at all he want he is being selective, and those he want are busy people.

When my aunt was around to help out in my early preggy days, he would always look for something to complain about. Atimes he will ask who cook the food, when am supposed to be on bed rest oo.

I think you should ask your doc. Was surprised when this man said I should ask him again at 30weeks. Hubby dey make sacrifice,though we do some play play to make do.

Pls be careful o. I tried experimenting too when i thought the threat of miscarriage was over and i started bleeding after sex. How much more someone who has had first trimester losses. I think you should give yourself some time. I waited till 16 weeks and even after that dh was advised not to go in too deep and hard and we always give ourselves some days in between to avoid triggering anything again. Baby's life comes first before pleasure.
There are also different ways of satisfying dh for the meantime without him going in.

It's amazing that its my hubby who generally has "loss of libido" during pregnancy and for months after childbirth. I'm usually keen but just not used to having to ask/reach out so I just stay in my corner!

I agree though that the pressures of child care coupled with running a household can enhance a loss of desire, like hajarahbadmus said one just needs to try really hard to remain on point.

I have vowed that this time round pregnancy and childbirth will not let me generally lose control of my appearance and the state of the house..

With my experience last year dat made me lost my 6month pregnancy, everything happened so fast, headache, swollen feet, whn I got to d hospital, d gyn on duty checkd for protein, der ws protein, was admitted, BP was high at midnight protein increase to ++, was induced dat morning, lost my baby girl.
So I will advise u also check ur BP make sure it's nt more than 140/90, and pls if u can see another gyn. Dats my advice frm my experience, and my doc is monitoring me closly coz dey said pre-eclampsia occur in twin pregnancy.

Some men really don't like crowd its their nature I guess. If it'll be easier on you both and for practical reasons can you stay with someone your mum, mil or someone close for a while after babies arrive? Only if it'll work oh...

If not just work with the nurse. Having hired helps too can sometimes add to the stress at hand to be frank just that really many of us don't have a choice than to employ them!
