Will u guys just shut it on this age bullsh*t!!!!! It's really disgusting.
Bellerin is also 20 and he made the PFA.

u can't be earning that much and given the chance to stay on the pitch from start to finish week-in week-out and the best u can come up with is age.
If u don't have any better excuses just shut it.

I think you are right.

If we have to hope that city lose to Arsenal at the etihad for us to stand any chance, I guess we might as well start planning for our absence in the UCL next season..

To worsen it, if City manage to edge out Madrid in the UCL semis, we would have to start wishing and praying that they don't win the trophy...ditto Liverpool's Europa trophy hopes.

Our UCL hopes are hinged on too many complexities jare!

Being saying that it is out of our hands just by the table alone. I'm noteven looking at Liverpool and city's prospects in Europe.

Guys don dey get hope. We've blown it Tay Tay..

What is disgusting is that after several years of watching football, you still do not understand the fact that players develop at different rates.

Ronaldo Da lima won the ballon d'or at 19 or 20, but Messi at this age was just a great young player and not the best player in the world.

I'll leave you with that.....

u cant base lingards performance on goals since he is not a striker. but dat doenst negate the fact that he is average in any position he plays. the only academy players worth keeping are the ones dat burst into d first team guns blazing. dats why cleverly gibson et al had to leave because they r average at their best. Lingard is no exception. there is nothing worth nurturing in his game
But dude gets in scoring positions. A lot of them for that matter.
He's a forward.
He's 23. What are we nurturing?
He should be improving his game. He's had plenty appearances to do that.

When Mata was scoring those goals for us early on, he wasn't a striker.

True but Messi made Argentinas squad for 2006 World Cup at 19.That's how good he was. He was good enough to be listed in Barcelonas squad in the 2006 UCL final.

Memphis has been to a World Cup. He has regressed since joining United. Eredivisie young player of the year to perpetual bench warmer.

Yes.
They are inconsequential.

End product=goals+assists for a forward player. All those takings and megedefegede na wash.

Thank goodness you aren't on any judging panels because guys like kante, iniesta who prior to this week had not assisted in months no go dey rated at all. Matter of fact dem no go dey start games. Talk less of strikers like okazaki dem. grin

And there are players that go from good to worse, e.g Mikel Obi, Walcott etc.
My point is the age thing can only count if he doesn't start regularly cos he is still young e.g Iheanacho. But even iheanacho that has started just 4 games has 5 goals to his name with 1 assist and I just pointed out Bellerin that made the PFA, are they not in same age bracket?

My point is, that age thing doesn't count in Martial's case. He has everything he needs.

Hehehe.

Remove Iniesta from that list. It's heresy to bring him in a discussion involving Lingard.
Kante was just named in the PFA team of the year.

Jesse Lingard is still running all over the pitch even after final whistle

Same discussion different verbiage.

Wayward Ronaldo became WPOTY.
Wayward Memphis joins United and loses his confidence.

Shebi you said Memphis is poor cos he's wayward?

And I'm arguing it's mostly a matter of confidence.

City struggle against teams with fast forward players.

5 teams from one country can go to UCL. 6 teams not allowed

Bros, the only reason Lingard could be said to be better than the pathetic Depay is prolly because the former shows a bit more enthusiasm and commitment : quality-wise, I can even make bold to say that Depay is better than Lingard!!!

Lingard shouldn't be anywhere near the 1st team.
As a matter of fact, I would start the equally limited Valencia on the RW in his place sef.
Baba you will agree with me that enthusiasm & commitment are important characteristics of greats. SAF won a shit ton of trophies with men like that. If you have passion & commitment for the game & the club you'd give your all for the team & if all the players are like this then we'd kill em all **cue Spartacus Lol** but seriously he won things with men like O'Shea Brown JS park cleverly even get 2BPL medals. Even welbeck who was still learning the trade whilst with us has a BPL medal to his name where men like Ozil, Sanchez Cazorla don't.

See those names you mentioned won crucial games for United.
That's the difference between them and useless Lingard.

I will never forget O'sheas goal at Liverpool in 2007. At Arsenal in 05 where he chipped the goalie from just inside the box.

Lingard has forgotten that back passing has been outlawed.

He can move to LB and compete with shaw, bearing in mind that he can also fill in as an emergency CB.

Me thinks it is Rojo who should move on....

His crossing is poor, he loses concentration too easily and ofcourse, his propensity to comit fouls in dangerous areas - these are the only "qualities" I see in him.

Rojo is a liability in the defence!!
i don't mind moving Rojo on

I'm sure this isn't Bellerin's first season in the EPL, so what the hell?

lingard scored a great goal vs Chelsea this season too.assisted for rashford to score against cech. No dem make me dey defend the Nigga like say na my brother the point is make we judge the new guys in the team after their second season.

If City or Liverpool wins, there will be no problems. The problem would be if both win their respective connections and finish outside top 4.

The winner of the UCL will have to defend the trophy. The team that finish fourth and the winner of Europa, one has to drop.

The most important thing is we win our remaining matches first. City will likely stumble.

At least Iniesta dey pass properly.
Kante tackles and intercepts.sometimes assist
Okazaki assists.

What does Lingard do properly aside from running and sweating more than any other player?

See, understand me.

My annoyance is that Lingard gets a lot of chances to score. He does nothing with them

His only saving grace is his willingness to defend. Otherwise he would be the classic definition of work done=0.

If Liverpool wins, direct route to the champions league for them.
So if city wins in that scenario, we will have to finish third to make the UCL.
