GBR1: I saw it and wanted to also post it here. If what is written is true, Gaal is really old school. He really didn't care about results, but was interested mostly in his philosophy. He sold players like Nani who could have brought creativity from the right wing. |

GBR1:based on my understanding, the issue of youth policy is more of a club policy more than a manager policy. Barca have a very good youth set up which made it easier for guardiola to make use of them when he was called on to manage the senior team. he knew the youth players in barca very well because he coached them. the same cannot be said of his time in bayern. and I doubt if he would look to the youth academy in mancity too. on ur point that rashford is more likely to fail on d long run....u r very wrong an dat assertion. rashford is going to be a successful footballer. it is evident in his game. at such an age u rarely see him make mistakes...with the exception of being still a teen, he might make some inexperienced decisions once a while but his overall game play shows a player who plays better than his age. the difference between martial and rashford is minute. |

MrTA:Lol! You expected an incoming coach to hang the new signings to dry by declaring, 'No they aren't my players'? What would that speak of him and what do you think would happen to the confidence of the said players? What has proved they were not his signings is the fact that both players, especially Herrera was often benched at the start of last season, which is unusual for a big money signing signed by the coach. Are we forgetting the likes of Blind, Depay, Bastain, Morgan , Rojo, Darmain, Martial went straight to the starting line-ups as soon as they came in? Also, at the time Herrera got signed, Van Gaal was with the Holland team, preparing for the worldcup which was to begin 2 weeks later. Where would he have had the time to be checking the players recommended to him? Also, he mentioned at that time that only Holland filled up his mind, not Manutd and he would only concentrate on Manutd after the worldcup. Hence, there's now way he could have been involved in the deal. What he said bout Herrera and Shaw is what any incoming coach would have said about any new signings in the team, even when they were signed by the board. There's no way he would tell the media that they weren't wanted. |

Mr GBR1, you are a very reasonable man! Don't mind those fools who are being haunted by the hatred the had for mou during his stint at chelsea. To them, It will be a thing of shame to make desparaging statements about him in the previous seasons, and then suddenly start praising him. Get it? Personally, I'm not happy that my man is going to manure. I wish it NEVER happens!! |

olabode89:Lol! Santon had fewer game time under Mourinho than he did under the previous manager and he was binned off on laon to serie B the following season. Same with Ballotelli who started more games under the previous manager. Also, Pepe and Ramos were the first choice defenders no matter how poor Pepe often looked under him. Varane only started games when one was injured or suspended or in cup games where the opposition were segunda's teams. Also, there was no way he would have played Cech. Cech was already highly rated as one of the best keeper in Ligue 1, and he just had a storming performance at the 'O4 Euros and was named in the all star team of the tournament. Also, it wasn't like Cech was a teenager. 1 Like |

10:09 VINNY'S UPDATE Here's Vinny O'Connor's latest missive from United's training ground. "A lawyer for the League Managers' Association, Paul Gilmour QC, has arrived at United's training ground. He initially tried to gain access but was turned away, but he returned about 15 minutes later and was allowed to go straight in. "His CV includes names such as Roy Hodgson, Martin O'Neill, Gianfranco Zola, Sir Alex Ferguson, Harry Redknapp and David Moyes. Indeed he dealt with Moyes' departure from United as well. It could be coincidence that he's here with Louis van Gaal but the likelihood is that negotiations are well under way as regards a possible severance package." 09:56 ANOTHER CLUE Here's an interesting development. Also at Manchester United's training ground now is Paul Gilroy QC, a well-known lawyer who is an "employment specialist who is frequently instructed in employment disputes in the sports sector." Our man Vinny is now on the scene, so we'll see what he has to say in a few moments... skysports |

lekkie073:man city youth academy is said to be the best in England at the moment. youth development is really hard to do, and sustained success in that part of a club with huge aspirations like we do, is too hard and might not yield any fruit or not even enough to justify your effort,e go be like fighting 5 guys with one hand tied behind your back. I don't think any academy of any major team is doing any outstanding job.luck is too much of a factor. who as Barca produced that as been able to hold down a starting position in that team so far since busquets. I can only think of maybe this bactra guy maybe Barca fans fit help me. rashford go dey alright we dey pray for am. |

GBR1:There's no way he wouldn't have played Robben who was Abramovich's signing and whenever he did, Robben was always phenomenal. Tell me how he could have benched him? Also, Di Maria wasn't a teenager. He was 22-23 at the time Mourinho signed him and already had great experience playing in top flight matches for Benfica and he had a great worldcup for Argentina. He was just like Ozil, who was brought in too, after a fantastic worldcup. Look at James Rodriguez for example, who was brought into Madrid team, at the age of 22/23. You wouldn't call him a youngster because he's had plenty of experience. He was a first team player at Porto at the age of 17/18 yrs and was already a core player for his national team just like Di Maria was. As per Pep, Pep played Kimmich whose previous experience was from the German B league. He signed unproven Coman who had little game time or none at Juve and played him. I doubt Mourinho would have done any of that and wouldn't have signed Martial who only became a starting player for Monaco last season and has just made 19 starts in the league and had no international experience whatsoever. Most of the young players that found their way into his starting team were players who were around 22/23 yrs and already had plenty of experience in the top flight games and were core players for their national team. 1 Like |

SIRcumalot:but one thing is sure....jose when he finally arrives will buy a striker or two and rashford will be limited to maybe cup competitions and sub appearance in d league....if he continues his good plays under such conditions....then he would surely be a future united star.... |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by funlord(m): 10:54am On May 23, 2016 |
lekkie073: Not true! Jose mourinho does not care about reputations! If you deliver you become a key member of his squad! If rashford continues in this vein of goal scoring form next season jose would play him regardless of his age! He did the same thing back in porto! |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by lekkie073(m): 11:00am On May 23, 2016 |
funlord:look at it from this angle.....presently rashford is the only striker in d team...no reliable option 'B'... meaning dat jose will need to buy at least one striker...I know he wont buy someone less prolific than rashford which will automatically relegate rashford to sub appearance. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SIRcumalot: 11:00am On May 23, 2016 |
lekkie073:that is the harsh reality of playing for a big club, but if rashford is truly a special talent like you think he is then he could displace those incoming strikers if they fail to perform. if he can't then his talent level his not worthy of starting place for Utd and he can stay on the bench and do some good work,or join a lower team and proves us all wrong. make I ask, don't you want him to sign a new guy? do you think rashford is ready to lead us to our rightful place in football? |

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by funlord(m): 11:08am On May 23, 2016 |
lekkie073: I think realistically the person he wants is "ZLATAN!" If zlatan falls in, then I'm sure even 'rashford' won't mind the bench because zlatan offers a lot more than him but he would still get game time! But if it is "aubameyang" then him and "rashford" would have to battle it out for a starting berth because "martial" is untouchable and 'aubameyang' may need to show that he can cut it in this league 1st! But what I saw him do with "carlos alberto" back in his porto days gives me high hopes for rashford! Jose no dey look face! |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by lekkie073(m): 11:21am On May 23, 2016 |
funlord:zlatan is probably coming in as a player/assistant manager. aubameyang is fantastic but he might prove a hard player to bring due to our ucl non participation...morata or icardi r possible options too |

SIRcumalot:if rashford leads us in attack is a gamble to d detriment of winning d league. .but if dat remains d case I can bet dat with rashford leading d attack if we dont win d league next season we would in d subsequent one...my views though! |

SIRcumalot:by their fruits u shall know them. ...a good striker irrespective of age, will always have a movement as well as the ability to run towards defwnders without fear os losing d ball....rashford has these....his movements r so assured.....I wont mind saying it again....if martial cost us 36m, rashford would have cost us 30m assuming its monaco dat owns the two of them |
