Matthew 15:24 23But Jesus did not answer a word. So His disciples came and urged Him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” 24He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.

They would face the same judgement as those alive when Jesus(Isa) was there 'cos there were many Prophet before Jesus who warned them about hell and paradise, prophet such as Abraham(Ibrahim),Moses(Musa),Isaac(Ishaq),Elijah and so on

Dear beloved, please pray first to Holy Spirit for opening of eyes of understanding and then read the following bible passages.
Mathew 27:51-53, Ephesians 4:8-9, 1Corinthians 15:55, Psalm 16:10, Luke 16:20-25
You see before christ many soul of the dead were temporarily preserved in heaven e.g elijah, enok, moses. Also in grave e.g elisha and hell e.g rich man in Luke 16. Depending on their righteousness, and relationship with God
However, at the death of christ, he visited all these temporary places and introduced himself to these dead souls of holy people and move them to mansions prepared for them in heaven as you can see in mathew 27. In death you automatically accept lordship of Jesus because you operate at higher intelligence realm, so no need of preaching. Mind you He left behind bad souls of men in Hell. After the resurrection of Christ righteous pple goes straight to new temporary preservation place in heaven(mansions) and wait until judgement day. Also unrighteous pple goes straight to hell in the earth of the earth. After rapture the dead in Christ will still be held in grave. Revealation 20:13
I hope I have been able to help

I do not believe your write up. You've conveniently twisted the bible to support your view.

OP all souls that did not worship GOD before Christ's demise have gone to hell.

Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice was to redeem all mankind who had ever lived, live, and would live on earth. God's plan of salvation for man has never been frustrated or altered at any time. He knows the end from the beginning. He never planned to people the earth with righteous people as some people claimed. He knew Satan would tempt Adam and Eve and He knew man would fall and become unclean to enter the kingdom of God. To save man from the effects of the fall God chose Jesus Christ before the earth was created (1 Peter 1:18-20) to come in due time (the meridian of times) to atone for mankind. Hence those who believed on His name and repent will be purged of their sins and be reconciled with God.

Now, concerning those who died without having a knowledge of Jesus Christ and His true doctrine and lived lives not worthy of the kingdom of God, their spirits are kept in a place of waiting called prison or hell (not the final hell) while their counterparts who had a knowledge of Christ and His redeeming power are kept in a place of waiting called Abraham's bosom or Paradise - not celestial heaven where God dwells (Luke 16:20-24). Note as you read Luke 16:20-24 that there are no waters in the prison or hell as evident in the rich man asking Abraham to please allow Lazarus dip his finger in water to quench his thirst.

In many scriptures and in Isaiah 61:1-2, Jesus Christ promised to open the prison to them that a bound. Zachariah, speaking Messianically, said, " As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I [Jesus Christ] have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water" (Zachariah 9:1)

Jesus Christ fulfilled Zachariah's prophecy between His death and resurrection (1 Peter 3: 18-21). He opened the prison door and preached to them that are dead. Apostle Peter in His own sermon answered why was the gospel preached to them that are dead also "Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick [Living] and the dead.

For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit". (1 Peter 4:5-6)

God, in His infinite wisdom has every thing included in His plan. He is a just God. He provided every opportunity for all His children in all ages to learn of Him and use their agency to either accept or reject Him that He might be fair and just in His Judgement. No man that day shall give excuse saying I did not hear thy word. Surely every knee show bow and every tongue shall confess Jesus Christ is Lord! (Philippians 2:10-11)

Now, this important subject gives birth to another very important subject - the doctrine of baptism for the dead (1 Corinthians 15:29-30). This subject may sound very strange and unimaginable to you just like the many convert to the church of Jesus Christ at Corinth felt about the resurrection of the dead discussed in 1 Corinthians chapter 15. The saints did not think about the resurrection with their eyes single to the glory and power of God but with their physical eyes and understanding wonder how it is possible for one who is drowned in the sea and chopped by big fish, one who burned to ashes, one who was buried and turned to dust ages ago come back to life with body, bones and limbs in their perfect frame. If you were there at that time you may have wandered so and say this is madness and may never believe it except you are sufficiently humble to feel the promptings of the still small voice whispering to you the veracity of the doctrine.

Paul pacified them and reassured them of Christ resurrection which makes it possible for all mankind to resurrect. And in the process he mentioned the doctrine of baptism for the dead in a very obscure manner. If not the concerns of the Corinthian saints perhaps nothing would be mentioned about it in the Holy Bible.

The gospel is being preached to our dead ones in the prison without waters. Baptism will now save them that have accepted the gospel there. Remember there are no waters there? And baptism is an earthy ordinance, and they are now spirits thereby cannot do it for themselves. They look unto us to do a vicarious baptism for them to free them from prison. This is a fulfilment of Malachi's prophecy, " Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse" (Malachi 4:5-6).

Concerning this very important subject, the Prophet Joseph Smith, who was called to usher in the dispensation of the fullness of times recorded in the Doctrine and Covenants ( the book containing the revelations he received from Jesus Christ) :

Doctrine and Covenant Section 128

An epistle from Joseph Smith the Prophet to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, containing further directions on baptism for the dead, dated at Nauvoo, Illinois, September 6, 1842.1–5, Local and general recorders must certify to the fact of baptisms for the dead; 6–9, Their records are binding and recorded on earth and in heaven; 10–14, The baptismal font is a similitude of the grave; 15–17, Elijah restored power relative to baptism for the dead; 18–21, All of the keys, powers, and authorities of past dispensations have been restored; 22–25, Glad and glorious tidings are acclaimed for the living and the dead.

1 As I stated to you in my letter before I left my place, that I would write to you from time to time and give you information in relation to many subjects, I now resume the subject of the baptism for the dead, as that subject seems to occupy my mind, and press itself upon my feelings the strongest, since I have been pursued by my enemies.
2 I wrote a few words of revelation to you concerning a recorder. I have had a few additional views in relation to this matter, which I now certify. That is, it was declared in my former letter that there should be a recorder, who should be eye-witness, and also to hear with his ears, that he might make a record of a truth before the Lord.
3 Now, in relation to this matter, it would be very difficult for one recorder to be present at all times, and to do all the business. To obviate this difficulty, there can be a recorder appointed in each ward of the city, who is well qualified for taking accurate minutes; and let him be very particular and precise in taking the whole proceedings, certifying in his record that he saw with his eyes, and heard with his ears, giving the date, and names, and so forth, and the history of the whole transaction; naming also some three individuals that are present, if there be any present, who can at any time when called upon certify to the same, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
4 Then, let there be a general recorder, to whom these other records can be handed, being attended with certificates over their own signatures, certifying that the record they have made is true. Then the general church recorder can enter the record on the general church book, with the certificates and all the attending witnesses, with his own statement that he verily believes the above statement and records to be true, from his knowledge of the general character and appointment of those men by the church. And when this is done on the general church book, the record shall be just as holy, and shall answer the ordinance just the same as if he had seen with his eyes and heard with his ears, and made a record of the same on the general church book.
5 You may think this order of things to be very particular; but let me tell you that it is only to answer the will of God, by conforming to the ordinance and preparation that the Lord ordained and prepared before the foundation of the world, for the salvation of the dead who should die without a knowledge of the gospel.
6 And further, I want you to remember that John the Revelator was contemplating this very subject in relation to the dead, when he declared, as you will find recorded in Revelation 20:12—And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
7 You will discover in this quotation that the books were opened; and another book was opened, which was the book of life; but the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works; consequently, the books spoken of must be the books which contained the record of their works, and refer to the records which are kept on the earth. And the book which was the book of life is the record which is kept in heaven; the principle agreeing precisely with the doctrine which is commanded you in the revelation contained in the letter which I wrote to you previous to my leaving my place—that in all your recordings it may be recorded in heaven.
8 Now, the nature of this ordinance consists in the power of the priesthood, by the revelation of Jesus Christ, wherein it is granted that whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Or, in other words, taking a different view of the translation, whatsoever you record on earth shall be recorded in heaven, and whatsoever you do not record on earth shall not be recorded in heaven; for out of the books shall your dead be judged, according to their own works, whether they themselves have attended to the ordinances in their own propria persona, or by the means of their own agents, according to the ordinance which God has prepared for their salvation from before the foundation of the world, according to the records which they have kept concerning their dead.
9 It may seem to some to be a very bold doctrine that we talk of—a power which records or binds on earth and binds in heaven. Nevertheless, in all ages of the world, whenever the Lord has given a dispensation of the priesthood to any man by actual revelation, or any set of men, this power has always been given. Hence, whatsoever those men did in authority, in the name of the Lord, and did it truly and faithfully, and kept a proper and faithful record of the same, it became a law on earth and in heaven, and could not be annulled, according to the decrees of the great Jehovah. This is a faithful saying. Who can hear it?
10 And again, for the precedent, Matthew 16:18, 19: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
11 Now the great and grand secret of the whole matter, and the summum bonum of the whole subject that is lying before us, consists in obtaining the powers of the Holy Priesthood. For him to whom these keys are given there is no difficulty in obtaining a knowledge of facts in relation to the salvation of the children of men, both as well for the dead as for the living.
12 Herein is glory and honor, and immortality and eternal life—The ordinance of baptism by water, to be immersed therein in order to answer to the likeness of the dead, that one principle might accord with the other; to be immersed in the water and come forth out of the water is in the likeness of the resurrection of the dead in coming forth out of their graves; hence, this ordinance was instituted to form a relationship with the ordinance of baptism for the dead, being in likeness of the dead.
13 Consequently, the baptismal font was instituted as a similitude of the grave, and was commanded to be in a place underneath where the living are wont to assemble, to show forth the living and the dead, and that all things may have their likeness, and that they may accord one with another—that which is earthly conforming to that which is heavenly, as Paul hath declared, 1 Corinthians 15:46, 47, and 48:
14 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as are the records on the earth in relation to your dead, which are truly made out, so also are the records in heaven. This, therefore, is the sealing and binding power, and, in one sense of the word, the keys of the kingdom, which consist in the key of knowledge.
15 And now, my dearly beloved brethren and sisters, let me assure you that these are principles in relation to the dead and the living that cannot be lightly passed over, as pertaining to our salvation. For their salvation is necessary and essential to our salvation, as Paul says concerning the fathers—that they without us cannot be made perfect—neither can we without our dead be made perfect.
16 And now, in relation to the baptism for the dead, I will give you another quotation of Paul, 1 Corinthians 15:29: Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? Why are they then baptized for the dead?
17 And again, in connection with this quotation I will give you a quotation from one of the prophets, who had his eye fixed on the restoration of the priesthood, the glories to be revealed in the last days, and in an especial manner this most glorious of all subjects belonging to the everlasting gospel, namely, the baptism for the dead; for Malachi says, last chapter, verses 5th and 6th: Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
18 I might have rendered a plainer translation to this, but it is sufficiently plain to suit my purpose as it stands. It is sufficient to know, in this case, that the earth will be smitten with a curse unless there is a welding link of some kind or other between the fathers and the children, upon some subject or other—and behold what is that subject? It is the baptism for the dead. For we without them cannot be made perfect; neither can they without us be made perfect. Neither can they nor we be made perfect without those who have died in the gospel also; for it is necessary in the ushering in of the dispensation of the fulness of times, which dispensation is now beginning to usher in, that a whole and complete and perfect union, and welding together of dispensations, and keys, and powers, and glories should take place, and be revealed from the days of Adam even to the present time. And not only this, but those things which never have been revealed from the foundation of the world, but have been kept hid from the wise and prudent, shall be revealed unto babes and sucklings in this, the dispensation of the fulness of times.
19 Now, what do we hear in the gospel which we have received? A voice of gladness! A voice of mercy from heaven; and a voice of truth out of the earth; glad tidings for the dead; a voice of gladness for the living and the dead; glad tidings of great joy. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those that bring glad tidings of good things, and that say unto Zion: Behold, thy God reigneth! As the dews of Carmel, so shall the knowledge of God descend upon them!
20 And again, what do we hear? Glad tidings from Cumorah! Moroni, an angel from heaven, declaring the fulfilment of the prophets—the book to be revealed. A voice of the Lord in the wilderness of Fayette, Seneca county, declaring the three witnesses to bear record of the book! The voice of Michael on the banks of the Susquehanna, detecting the devil when he appeared as an angel of light! The voice of Peter, James, and John in the wilderness between Harmony, Susquehanna county, and Colesville, Broome county, on the Susquehanna river, declaring themselves as possessing the keys of the kingdom, and of the dispensation of the fulness of times!
21 And again, the voice of God in the chamber of old Father Whitmer, in Fayette, Seneca county, and at sundry times, and in divers places through all the travels and tribulations of this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! And the voice of Michael, the archangel; the voice of Gabriel, and of Raphael, and of divers angels, from Michael or Adam down to the present time, all declaring their dispensation, their rights, their keys, their honors, their majesty and glory, and the power of their priesthood; giving line upon line, precept upon precept; here a little, and there a little; giving us consolation by holding forth that which is to come, confirming our hope!
22 Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing. Let the dead speak forth anthems of eternal praise to the King Immanuel, who hath ordained, before the world was, that which would enable us to redeem them out of their prison; for the prisoners shall go free.
23 Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud; and all ye seas and dry lands tell the wonders of your Eternal King! And ye rivers, and brooks, and rills, flow down with gladness. Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy! And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy! And let the eternal creations declare his name forever and ever! And again I say, how glorious is the voice we hear from heaven, proclaiming in our ears, glory, and salvation, and honor, and immortality, and eternal life; kingdoms, principalities, and powers!
24 Behold, the great day of the Lord is at hand; and who can abide the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fuller’s soap; and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Let us, therefore, as a church and a people, and as Latter-day Saints, offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness; and let us present in his holy temple, when it is finished, a book containing the records of our dead, which shall be worthy of all acceptation.
25 Brethren, I have many things to say to you on the subject; but shall now close for the present, and continue the subject another time. I am, as ever, your humble servant and never deviating friend,

JOSEPH SMITH.

how did this comment even get 7 likes?? undecided shows how intelligent most average Nigerians are, someone asked a reasonable question, a normal human should be curious about things he doesn't understand and you are replying his question with a even more silly question, like seriously what do u guys get taught in polytechnics and universities? i wonder because most people can't even ask intelligent questions where as a 14 year European, British, Canadian or American would normally just ask, here u ask, they putyou down for asking, it's so easy to brain wash Africans, now i believe that saying.

The moment you realize how small earth is in the universe, the awesome moment you begin to admit the reality of how insignificant the size of the "giant" planet you live on is in the Universe, you will begin to ask different questions like why would a all-powerful God that can create these beauty want to kill himself over tiny humans - we are so proud.

Concerning those who are dead before Christ. They will not not be judged by the law but by faith too. Why? Because they believed in the coming Christ, eg, Abraham was saved by faith because he believed God will give Him a son which was a shadow of the coming Saviour. Moses told the Istrealites that a prophet God will give them into whom they shall harken, and that prophet is Jesus. David said blessed is the man whose sin shall not be count against him, he said this because he believed Jesus will come. I can continue stating examples in the old testament, but because of too much word let me go to new testament.

Cornelius was a gentile but he had the faith of the fathers. If he had died before Christ he would have been saved too because he believed in Christ to come. But because Messiah has already come, cornelius had to be apprised of the fact. Since Christ has come, we can not be saved by faith in Christ to come. Apostle Peter's visit was to acquaint Cornelius with this fact.

Concerning where the dead in Christ go then, they all went to paradise which happened to be third heaven. That was why Jesus told the thief on the cross that he shall meet him in paradise.

Grace and Peace be tothe brethren in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

There are many inconsistencies with this answer but let me stick to a few starting with:

1. the bold text - You are agreeing with the Muslims that Jesus is a Prophet even if you want to deny that, then, you will be denying that verse.

2. You just told us that all those you mentioned believed in Jesus... even as that is a little funny because the original question asked about all those who had been born and had died before Jesus' birth including the fact that none of them believed he died for them, you found it very convenient to restrict it to a few people and also the fact that they "somehow" believed in Jesus (by your interpretation). Please now! Be realistic.

In addition to this, abeg, The bible said the saints came out of their graves after Jesus was crucified... Which saints and erm, why do Christians dodge this embarrassing fake "reality"?

You asked a very good question and you shall find it (Read Proverbs 2:1-5)

Jesus Christ said there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteousness. (Read John 5:28-29)

These will have the grand opportunity of knowing the Christ.

How will they be judged you may ask?

The scriptures says that he who has died has been acquitted from sin.(Roman's 6:7).

Therefore the resurrected are raised sinless. So how will they be judged since they are have already paid the price for their sins (Roman's 6:23)?

The judgment here refers to the preaching work(Read John 12:48, John 3:18). They will be judged by whether they accept or reject what is preached to them.

They will be judge based on what is in the new scrolls(Read Revelations 20:12). That means we will most likely be using a new other other than the Bible.

This resurrection will occur during the 1,000 year the Devil will be in the abyss(Read Revelations 20:1-3). This is the millenium reign of the Christ. This 1,000 year reign is the Judgment Day. (Read Acts 17:31). It is not a literal day(Read 2 Peter 3:cool.

This will be a 1,000 year Sabbath rest. That is why Jesus referred to himself as the Lord of the Sabbath. Satan will not be there to mislead mankind during the 1,000 years and the earth will be restored to perfection.

Note that during that 1,000years even though Satan has been abused, some of the resurrected ones will still want act sinfully( Read Isaiah 26:10). These ones will be destroyed.

By the end of the 1,000 year reign, all humans will be brought to perfection. Then Satan will be released from the abyss to mislead mankind. Many of them, though perfect will be mislead by Satan just like perfect Adam was. They and Satan will be destroyed (Revelation 20:7-10).

Point of correct: in Romans Chapter 6 Paul taught the saints the symbolism of Baptism. Paul countered the misconception that grace condones sin. Baptism by immersion symbolizes our death to sin and our new life in Christ. We yield ourselves as servants either to sin or to God. You may read from verse 1 to 7.

Thus when we are immersed in water we are dead to sin- our sins are washed away and we become freed from sin. When we are brought out of the water (symbolising resurrected with Christ) we become sinless and we continue in faith, enduring to the end we become heirs of salvation. But if we go back to sin Baptism cannot save us unless we repent and turn to the Lord again.

Thank you.
You've just expressed your limited knowledge of the word of God because you don't have the spirit of Christ since you are not born of God (i.e. born again).

God promised the Messiah (the Annointed One) to Israel. He was to be revealed to them by His word, way and acts notably miracles, signs and wonders. Through this and by His sacrifice He fulfilled the Law and the Prophets and threby ushered in a new dispensation of GRACE to ALL. The offer was FIRST to the Jews, then non-Jews.

The syriophonecian woman was, as it were, jumping the gun, as a non-Jew. But Jesus obliged her on the basis of her great faith.

bj4jesus:
This means everyone has a conscience which attests to the law of God. Thus, they will be judged by their conscience.
Do you know that conscience could be affected by so many factors, making it an unstable yardstick for judgement?

fxjones:
.....and before the coming of Christ will be judge according to their conscience
God2man:
They will be judged by their conscience.
idee91:
there were prophets (servants) of God sent before and after jesus christ, as stated earlier. their teachings would be used for the people of their time
parkeration:
all souls that did not worship GOD before Christ's demise have gone to hell.
Does that mean one can enter Eternal Life without Christ? If not, how could you explain these people's believed admission into Eternal Life? I mean those who listened to the prophets, or those whose conscience didn't condemn.

oyega:
Long before the time of Moses, God justified men without the law. He justified many kings of Egypt and Babilonia. He justified Job. Nineveh that great city, was justified and received the promise of God that He would not destroy that great city.
Does that mean one could be saved without knowledge and belief in Christ because the people you mentioned knew nothing about Christ, yet you accepted they were justified?

UuzbaGuuzba:
NOBODY can come to the Father Except through him Jesus. Be a Christian... A person who follows Christ....
You haven't answered the question. How would those who existed before Christ came be judged?

NZAGHA:
But here is the matter, ignorance is never an excuse to God... The same judgement that will be giving to the present world today, is what those that never knew christ witnessed at their own time...
What is yours sense of justice?

sonofthewind:
Bible calls it 'time of ignorance'...God overlooked.
You mean GOD overlooked their misdeeds, and they made heaven?

Kyase:
why u want knw. E concern u.
That didn't address the question raised by the OP.

3rdlegxxx:
....how did this comment even get 7 likes?
Did you say 7 likes? Check again, his "likers" are now at least 35. Pathetic!!!

AntiWailer:
Read the rich man and Lazarus. Lazarus saw people in Paradise.
Wasn't that a parable?

donswaga:
why will jesus only remember Nigeria 200years ago if he is the real Savior of the all world.

KingEbukaNaija:
For the Jews before Christ : The remission of sin was through animal sacrifices before the birth of Christ . Jesus now died for our sins - he replaced that .

For the non Jews before Christ : They will be judged according to their works . Same with people that did not get to know Christ and salvation for whatever reason
Double standards? So the non-Jews could be saved via works?

hysteriabox:
Very simple. If you undersrand the DOCTRINE OF DISPENSATIONS, this question ll be a piece of cake
Different standards for people of different epoch. Does that mean "No one can come to the Father except through the Son" was not applicable before the Birth of the Son on earth?

oyega:
Cornelius was a gentile but he had the faith of the fathers. If he had died before Christ he would have been saved too because he believed in Christ to come. But because Messiah has already come, cornelius had to be apprised of the fact. Since Christ has come, we can not be saved by faith in Christ to come. Apostle Peter's visit was to acquaint Cornelius with this fact.
How about our ancestors who were not aware of the fact?

jossyphobia:
if you've been going to church you will know the answer to these questions you are asking. that's why he had disciples to continue the mission and gave them holyspirit
Why not address the points he raised?

MuhMubRaj:
But the bible clearly says " For those who do not accept jesus as there lord and personal saviour shall not enter the kingdom of god"
when Christ died he went to preach to the dead. certainly those dead before him. because no One has ascended into heaven till this time I'm talking to you. thy are yet to b judged. he also fought with death and won.
