He isn't a team player like Messi. More of a complete goal scorer, rather than a player. Messi scores, entertains, dribbles and give assists. Not many player can do these. Suarez is as good as Ronaldo when it comes to goal scoring, though less complete.

Messi still cope with that, and bail them out occasionally, save for his off days, (which everyone has). Portugal was just another Leicester. They won because they got favored by small details (which can be very important sometimes). By small details I mean, favorable matches and bad luck on the side of the other teams.
