From Genesis to Revelation, there is no scripture that quoted 25th of December as Jesus Birthday. The scriptures only described the period that Jesus was born (Ezra 10:9,13; Jeremiah 36:22; Luke 2:8-12). Jesus neither celebrated his birth day nor his 12 Apostles. He only celebrated his death and commanded his Disciplines to keep doing that in remembrance of him (Luke 22:14-20). I think that command is enough for true Christian to follow. only two birth were celebrated and those that did were not servant of the true God - Jehovah and humans life were wasted just for the fond of celebration (Genesis 40:20-22; Mathew 14:6-10; Ecclesiastes 7:1). Life of even animal is sacred to Jehovah, how much more human! Exodus 23:2 encourages us not to follow after the crowd for evil end. It's not a matter of conviction but the truth John 8:32; Ephesian 5:10

Okay.

Why would they accept an invitation to where ignorance is taught instead of the real teachings of the bible. What will they learn in churches if not how to cast and bind their enemies instead of loving every one as themselves. What will they learn than useless prophesies and predictions from your bet9ja pastors?

Tell me, which is the true teaching of the Bible?

A quick question for you: " is wishing someone a merry Christmas when others wish you the same on Christmas day or when someone wishes you a happy birthday on your date of birth the same as celebrating it", even if deep down within you, you do not partake in any celebrations. cos I get confused about this aspect and thanks 4 your reply.

cc:1coinNaija

Sorry i couldnt reply early, my network has been terrible...

Back to question, I can understand the feeling....especially you do not want to start explain your belief and all that. Normally, I'll just go with Thank you if I don't want to go through the long talk. No one would question when you say thank you only......if they however decide to peruse further, which is quite unlikely, I'll make clear my Christian belief.

Today's watchtower about faith can also apply timely in this. Our faith is based on action and not we have in our heart....faith without works is dead, says John. Our faith doesn't only make believe this is a wrong practice but it moves us to action to shun it and also preach it.

Re: Why Don’t Jehovah’s Witnesses Celebrate Christmas? by Ken4Christ: 12:13am On Dec 26, 2016
We celebrate Christmas because we have the scriptural license to do so. You may wonder, what is the license?

1. Apostle Paul said, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or WHATSOEVER YE DO, do all to the glory of God". (1st Corinthians 10:31).

We have to know we are living under grace and not under laws. As such, there is no strict rules that runs our lives. We have the liberty to do things we want to do as long as it does not compromise moral standard of the Scripture.

Paul said, 'Whatsoever we do'. And Christmas falls under the category of whatsoever. The only clause is that it should be done to the glory of God.

Concerning the origin been linked to a pagan festival. Christmas celebration is therefore a welcome development as no one celebrates the pagan feast anymore.

I do know there are those who use this period to carry out acts that are ungodly. This is expected as not everyone that claims to be a Christian is truly saved.

Yes, Jesus did not tell us to celebrate his birth but wise men from the east came from a far country to worship and honour the little baby Jesus. Where the wise men instructed to do so? Certainly not but they knew it was a proper thing to do. But the Jews for which Jesus came didn't honour him.

If Jesus was on earth, do you think he will stop the celebration? He will not just the same way he did not stop those spreading their clothes on the ground shouting hosanna to the King when he rode on a donkey.

The essence of Christianity is to spread the gospel by every available means. At least, so many more people hear about Jesus because of the publicity accorded to Christmas.

JW will not celebrate someone they don't believe in.

They claim to be Christians but they deny the son.

They do everything within their power to degrade Jesus. So why should you listen to them.

It is not everything you do the Bible have to approve. Whatsoever you do, as long as it brings glory to God is acceptable.

Merry Christmas.

I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

The bible also says in Gen 40 vs 20-23 pharoah spared the life of the cupbearer. This shows something good can happen on a birtbday.
Answer the question is it pharoah or the birthday that was bad?
In the case of john the baptist death was it herod or the birthday that killed john the baptist?
Somebody does something bad on a day it doesnt make the day bad its the person tbat is bad

Dogs are mentioned in the Bible 40 times, and in every mention they are described disparagingly. They are said to be lowly and unclean, used as an allegory for sodomites (Deut 23:17,18), and said to be no part of the New System (Rev 22:15). Do you not have dogs as pets?

The wearing of eye paint is mentioned twice, once in reference to wicked queen Jezebel (2 Kings 9:30) and secondly to apostate Israel (Jer 4:30). Do you forbid eye makeup?
2 samuel 4 vs 5-7 contains the only instance where a siesta is mentioned in the Bible, and results in a beheading. Do you forbid siestas?

The same place where it encourages participating in political agitation. The same verse where it encourages us to take up arms in war against enemy nations as dictated by the country's ruler. In ASA voice

"Hey Mr. soldier man
Tomorrow is the day you go to war
But you are fighting for another man's cause
And you don't even know him
What did he say to make you so blind
To your conscience and reason
Could it be love for your country
Or for the gun you use in killing"

And the same verse that allows the Church of England to put Homosexual priests on the narrow road that leads to eternal life.

Nigerians and poor nations got gold medal in the film called "Playing the Ostrich"

Jehovah's witnesses don't celebrate birthday because bad things happened that day, but because the only mention of birthdays in the bible is by people who were not God servants. We follow strictly what God ask us to do in the bible or what we find his recorded servants are doing.

Something good happened on pharaohs birthday ie he freed the cup bearer. Pharaohs were known to kill children when it wasn't even their birthdays even herods did the same thing.
They were not even isrealites or Christians that's y they did bad things. I asked a question is it the birthday or the pharaoh that was bad? Or is it herod or the birthday that killed John the Baptist
You say you follow what God ask to do in the bible. Did God ask us not to commit murder or celebrate birthday?
You say you do what you find his servants doing in the bible. Did they obey God's commandment and if they did was there any commandment saying we should not celebrate birthday?
After John the Baptist died and Jesus was told what did he do? Did he have compassion or not? Did he curse birthdays? Did he say anything about birthdays?
I believe if Jesus had a problem with it he would have said so the bible has everything we should do and not do.
You also say God's servants did not celebrate birthday.
Did they celebrate wedding anniversary? Did they cut cake on their wedding? Did they accept wedding gifts?

I mentioned earlier that we don't celebrate it because the mention of it in the bible is associated with bad people or pagans......wedding anniversaries have no such connectations....so it then left to the couple to make their own private decision whether to celebrate it or not.

What of wedding gifts? What about siesta? What about eye paint?
Wedding anniversaries have pagan origin so don't celebrate it.
