Merry Christmas to all in this family. For many of us that are waiting for ITA, January will be great for us all. As many that have already put in their application, you will share your testimony with us soon as we enter into the new year. Love all the way. 4 Likes |

@ALL Please I will appreciate if no one add oga to my name. Bellong is fine by me and I like it that way... Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. @Cecegal, 1. He should find time and complete the CDR. Once it is done, I believe he will get a positive assessment. 2. The documents you have should do. Add payslip, offer letter, promotion letter (if any), bank statement and the publication for sale. They are all convincing documents. 3. No need racking your brains to fill gaps. Put he was in between jobs and searching for job. If he did any training or course during the time, add it or tell them he was doing a self study to keep trend of the market. NO offense or penalty for being unemployed for a period of time. Everybody gets to experience it at a point in his/her life. 4. If EA approves his work experience and it is enough for points, claim it. Don't run away from claiming work experience. WHy stress yourself paying thousands of Naira when you can make up for the points in experience. May 2017 open doors for you and yours and to everybody... I wish you all the best. 4 Likes |

Friends, please I need your advice on a situation. My bachelor's degree in Business Admin(2.1) from UNIBEN was assessed as an associate degree by VETASSESS, so my question, Is Nigerian bachelor degree equivalent to Australian associate degree? Or was my qualifications wrongly assessed. Your thoughts please. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 8:05am On Dec 27, 2016 |
damien83: Which occupation did you nominate? VETASSES is a funny body that assess differently from others. It doesn't mean your degree is lower than Australian bachelor degree, only that VETASSES think it is. They have some selected universities they assess equal to Australia bachelor degree. |

Thanks for the feedback bellong. I nominated Public Relations Professional(state nomination), a much need field in ACT. Would you advise I appeal the assessment? bellong: |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by mamajaz(f): 8:53am On Dec 27, 2016 |
damien83:Please if your points can still carry you with the associate things I don't think it's necessary spending precious time on appeal, just move on. However, if that has made you lose points and your points are insufficient due to that, you may give appealing a trial( provided it's possible). |

bellong: Complement of the season Bellong. Please I just sent you a PM, I will like you to cross-check some of my docs before I submit my application to VETASSESS. Thanks |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 8:53am On Dec 27, 2016 |
damien83: Appealing it may not yield any positive result. Someone I know from UNIBEN got the same thing. Do you have any additional qualification? Are you able to find an occupation that requires a diploma or associate degree? |

jamson: Please I want to know how the letter of proficiency thing works....... I might need it for my wife soon. She wrote IELTS in April 2014 when she was going to join me in the UK for her Masters but didn't later work out. We were still dating then and I was doing my Masters too. The least she had was W7 others were 8 and 8.5. I'm afraid the IELTS's 3-years validity would have expired before we obtain ITA as I only submitted my EA application (not fast tracked) last week. Just trying to see if I can cut the cost of her writing another English test. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 12:57pm On Dec 27, 2016 |
^^^^ Get her university to write a letter stating she studied with them for X years and was conducted in English. Please do read the letter issued by the university. Some staff in the university write nonsense that you wouldn't believe it was written by a university staff. Proofread it. |

Am gathering all documents needed so that i wouldn't waste more time when i get the ITA. I want to ask if IELTS Academic is acceptable for my wife. She did IELTS last year while applying for a master's programme and she has L: 6.0, R: 6.0, W: 6.0 and S: 7.0 or does she has to take IELTS General or PTE-A. I will like it if i can get a link to all required documents for a family application (My wife and I with 2 kids). Want to get all certified. |

Bnimz: Not sure what his reasons could be, but I know EA has suspended the fast track option from the 5th of December to sometime in the middle of January 2017. This is for the holidays I guess. OzyMigrant, I implore you go back and pick up the fast track option as soon as EA puts it back on the shelf. Your assessment outcome should be out in about 3 weeks as compared to the months you are currently waiting for. Consider and explore Bellong's advice if you still need to use a letter of proficiency, get your wife to write the Academic and Records Unit (usually at the University Senate) of her school requesting for a letter of proficiency in her name. This should come back to you at little or no cost. Na only proper follow up e fit chop. see the request sample attached. 1 Like |

jamson: Dem no exactly suspend am.. . They merely warned that due to the holidays, fast-tracked applications would take longer than 15 working days till the end of January.. which is understandable. EA has been closed since 24th.. they'll open on the 3rd.. definitely there'll be a backlog for them to deal with.. However, look at it this way.. ... if fast-tracked applications are going to take longer than usual, I don't want to imagine how long "non-fast-tracked" applications with a default turnaround of 15 weeks will NOW take... 1 Like |

Hi Ogas in d house, Av been reading d thread 4 sometimes now & I av d following questions. Is it possible not to assess experience with EA but claim d experience point with DIPB & can someone apply as single while married specifically just because of d cost of visa fee & travelling arrangement or any other conditions? Will be glad if references are provided 2 support urs advice. Expecting input from experience ogas Bnimz, Jamson Bellong and others. Thanks |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by sunvick(m): 8:12pm On Dec 27, 2016 |
Chief it will be best you present original documents and fill out accurate information to avoid complicating issues for yourself in the near future. Firstly, its not possible to claim experience point with DIPB while your assessment result will indicate no work experience, moreover, the assessment result from EA will be uploaded on DIPB portal. You just cant lie about. Try and save your self from been disqualified or even banned completely. If you apply as single person now and get the visa, you will still be caught up when you will want to invite your wife over, giving the inconsistent dates e.g ( date in marriage cert, date you made your DIPB application, personal info saying you are single while you were married). DIPB can cancel already issued PR on the basis of providing false information. Just my 2 centimeter opinion. Other Oga's will provide better info. damoche64: 1 Like |
