Henry240:Yeah I see them all the time I go through Lagos, the change from the traditional camo to this new grey color was what convinced me that something was going on. |

jakeporeshenko: I agree, the King Air should replace the DO-228 in NAF service, actually they are the perfect replacement. On the medium lift, there are multiple reasons i prefer the C-295 to the G-222, not only do they have the same carrying capacity, Airbus is building a head office for Sub-Saharan Africa in Abuja. In the years to come, that could translate to a maintenance hub for the C-295 which many countries in Africa already fly. So, I'll go with the C-295. If we can get 6 units to replace our G-222s in service, that would be fantastic. |

Airborne360: Lol ..... Baba, it's my kind of thing na. I won't miss it for the world. Our CAS is doing a brilliant job. I just wish he was CAS when we had money, we know where we would have reached by now. He has also made the Air Force so people friendly, a service you can reach out to and communicate with. Basically bringing our Air Force to us. This would be great for our lift capability. You by any chance have an idea of the company contracted to do the work? I remember the job on NAF 913 was done by BCgneeds. I wonder if they are the same guys handling this one. |

Fynline: Great, we are making progress. If we could quickly launch the ARA MRAP and also build LAVs. LAVs are currently the way forward. The Senegalese deployment proves this. If we had LAVs, apart from the Otokar Cobra and VBL, deployment of armour to Gambia would have been a piece of cake. |

GreenandGold: Guy we know South Africa can be really dumb but yours is becoming something else. You should have observed how your fellow South African left you with your stupid claims and Nigerians didn't even bother replying you. Do CH-3 drone carry missiles? Do J7 carry missiles? We don't need your type here. 2 Likes |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by GreenandGold: 8:08pm On Jan 31, 2017 |
iblawi: Actually, you're dumb. Having a platform doesn't mean you have the missile on it. There's no SIPRI record of Nigeria purchasing missiles for those platforms. Case close. As for your J7, it's now scrap metal that's why you have gone back to your trainer jet as your backbone plane.... America of West Africa... 1 Like |

kikuyu1: africaken254: Please nobody should post terrorist propaganda in this thread. So, i found out what is making the Kenyans "cry" in this thread. With Africaken254 losing hope in Sub-Saharan Africa. I found the pictures of the Al-Shabaab attack on twitter, it's unfortunate you lost that many soldiers. However i think you guys have a distorted view of conflict. It is unfortunate to claim that you've lost faith in Africa, just because a KDF base was overrun by Al Shabaab. Do you guys think war is a tea party, or a game were the army would win all the battles they engage in, that's a completely distorted view. You need to comeback to reality. It's sad the troops could not withdraw after it was becoming apparent that the base was going to fall. In war, you win some, you lose some, that's war. It's not pretty, it never was supposed to be. I just wish, Armies would learn to withdraw in time, equipment is expendable, they can be replaced or you send in fighter jets to take them out. It is the men that can't be replaced, that is actually what worries me. @Kikuyu1, yes, Nigerian soldiers have been victims of a lot of VBIEDs, a lot, it's uncountable. I remember an ISR footage of a drone strike released by DHQ. A Boko-Haram Terrorist was speeding towards 2 Nigerian T-72 tanks, but the UAV responded with a missile strike and blew up the VBIED. We also suffer from Animal borne IEDs, pressure plate IEDs, IEDs on women, IEDs on Kids etc etc. 7 Likes |
