escapefromusa: No. I base my argument on the fact that none of the non Igbo actors in the coup accused Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna of carrying out an Igbo coup, despite the fact that they saw the emergence of Ironsi and death of other regional leaders as the aftermath of the coup. The coup and events leading up to it led to the death of Akintola and Saraduna,( two staunch enemies of Awolowo that led to his incarceration) and the freedom of Awolowo. Considering that Awolowo had a history of attempt at usurping constituted authorities in the past, it's not hard to see why the coup could be tagged Awo coup, despite the fact that the actors never said so. That your logic could be turned against you. 1 Like |

Eledan: No mind dem. Just read this excerpt below, and compare it with the tales by moonlight being spun by the guy who claims Fani-Kayode was released by onye Igbo. Victor Babaremilekun Adetokunboh Fani-Kayode (nicknamed "Fani-Power"), Q.C., SAN, CON (1921–1995) was a leading Nigerian politician, aristocrat, nationalist, statesman and lawyer. He was elected Deputy Premier of the Western Region of Nigeria in 1963, and he played a major role in Nigeria's legal history and politics from the late 1940s until 1995..... 1 Like |

Ngozi123:If you read my response to her, you'd see I didn't bother much about her bkos she's ignorant of the true situation of things...and rather than keep shut her trap, she wants to talk bkos she saw that others are talking Her types is what supports the arguments of some guys who claim that women have no biz in politics...and I'd suggest to her to go and get acquainted with how Nigeria works than open her mouth carelessly |
