Sunnypa11: Hmmm Shehu up against Keagan Dolly, interesting. Shehu is pacy and skillful, he can cross the ball better than Musa and he's got guiles. From what I saw in Brazil, he also knows how to play the ball from defense. He ain't that awesome while defending but I think he can contain Dolly. Nice pick Onazi should be told to mind his defensive works while Ndidi who shoots better with more precision pushes forward(though only when need be). He should curb the rate at which he plays into our opponents' hand by easily getting drawn outta position. Well we've got a good cover in Agu. Omeruo hmmm I must say l'm scared with this guy starting. He can make mistakes to put us in danger anytime. I pray he disappoints us his doubters. I wish Balogun was around. Akpeyi seems the best choice at this stage though experience wise not merely because of his qualities. He is always jumpy, flaps at crosses and dives horribly like aiyenugba. He can make point black saves when least expected, at the same time, he can let in cheap goals, hence I call him a rope of sand. I'm not comfortable with him between the pipes but we ain't got better options. If Francis Ezoho manages to win a starting shirt next season at modest derpotivo lacoruna, I would be the first to clamor for his invite The front three plus etebo should scare the opponents and I pray they(iwobi, Acho, Musa and Etebo) all come to the party. Hopefully we have the Musa we saw against the Argies at the world cup, up against the Bananas. If we leading let say by 2 goals and above until the 70th minute, I would want the substitution to be ;Agu/Ogu for Iwobi, onyekuru for Musa to keep them on their toes and finally kayode for Acho, also to keep them on their toes. At this period, they would become vulnerable as they push for a goal hence leaving spaces behind. Our pacy dou of kayode and onyekuru can pounce by attacking those spaces with their pace. Icon4s: As for the goalkeeping position, I am disappointed that we have not gotten the chance to test the keepers. Akpeyi seems shielded to me from his weakness becoming exposed in camp. From the test, Alampasu still came out top. That is why he gets my nod. |

So sometimes some bit of personal tidbits like that is good. Personally I'd like to know which part of Nigeria we all come from. |

Daninya11: I think Enyeama made his break through with Shorunmu as the keeper trainer. Ejide was also in fine form under Shorunmu. Agbim had the reflexes but his positioning was awful. 1 Like |

jotey:I know you don't want them to win so that the Nigerians amongst them do not get fortified in their ambition to play for England. But omo look naaa. Save for some one or two positions we are bursting at the seams already. Anyone we lay hands on, fine. I don't think we'd do badly if we continue discovering and building our team without recourse to the British born guys. Cc Joebie I meant to write England but wrote Nigeria. |

ChrisKels: Very interesting but I do not see Rohr gambling with shielding the defence with Onazi. It is just too risky although Onazi's positioning improved under Rohr, Ndidi seems a more calm and trusted option. We will miss his lethal long range strike but we have enough firepower upfront to supplement the loss. |

Yea, win some lose some.. player like Solanke have been lost long time ago.. some of dem oyinbo pass oyinbo.. that one na waste of effort.. Make we see their Nigerian doings for instagram/twitter first. But anyways i'm for Venezuela for same reasons. Both teams need the win badly because they have been absent over the years as regards titles internationally. Mujtahida: |

Since Rohr likes him, I'm sure he is doing something right these days. My ideal full back should be good going forward and also defend effectively. TheGoodJoe: 1 Like |

Joebie: Enyeama is true gentleman and a man of integrity he has no issues with the NFF. Rather the powers that be in the NFF have issues with him and his uncompromising integrity. He should be given an unreserved apology for the way he was treated. |

Coaches throw in a joker every once in a while. Let's not hype South Africa, but let's take them seriously because we need to make a point to them once and for all never to ever think of trying to measure up with us in football tbaba1234: |

Agbim. is he still playing? I don't think finding great goalkeepers is hard. If anyone want to argue about favoritism lets focus on the goalkeeping department in order to end the bad trend especially with these home/afro based keeprs.. Let's not distract ourselves with outfield players. Our goalkeeper coaches are very lazy. Why are they not scouting the NPFL and NNL? do4luv14: |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by ChrisKels: 6:57pm On Jun 08, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe: Remember I said pushing forward when needed? But Sir, if Onazi can't shield, then he should give way for better shields(Agu my pick) because we can't afford to miss those attempts from Ndidi just because we wanna accommodate a certain Onazi. I read Agu doesn't join attacks more often unlike Onazi and he never jokes with his defensive responsibilities too. I had to check on his clips and I saw exactly what I earlier read. He displayed it against Corsica and Togo, he passes better and he's tidy with his tackles, hence, doesn't accumulate cards. He doesn't take no prisoners, same with Onazi though. He even had a better stat than Onazi this past season. He was second to no other Nigerian DMF than Ndidi, in Europe this past season. 1 Like |
