abdulwastecx: What are we talking about if not sandcrete blocks with rebar inserted into the hollow blocks and anchored to the concrete base slab, with the block hollow spaces hand filled with concrete every four coaches. And who said they were load bearing walls when the roof slab weight is supported by appropriately sized columns well spaced usually at the edges (provided the span is within 5meters) Please check my post again |

Or maybe you were assuming these blocks will be left as is, and not filled with concrete?

It's Here Again! Another time to set the course of the week,Lets take a min to reflect on something important. As we reflect on work and family, it's nice to make plans for the future. Let me tell you a short story about myself. In 2009, I was working in LUTH and my salary after tax and all was N113,000. At that time, i didn't have much responsibilities, so i could save between N50,000 to N60,000 monthly. At that same time, a plot of land in Mayfair Gardens, Awoyaya was selling for N500,000 per plot. There was even room for installment payment. You know what i did with this information? NOTHING. I didn't see myself living in the 'bush'. It was not even an option. Today, 2017, The estate is all done up and lovely. Being developed by the developers of VGC, i don't need to tell you how beautiful it is. And guess how much it's selling for now?? A whooping N20 million. This is how average people who have been schooled about money just end up being richer than everyone else around. And it looks likes you're all doing the same thing. If I had continued in my carrier path, i'll have been earning about N300,000 along with my colleagues now. I wouldn't have been in the league of those who can afford to N20 million. I actually saved up N600,000 at the end of that year and took all to Dubai to start buying and selling wares. Don't let me go into how that went. Suffice to say that money has gone to the great beyond. Another friend of mine after saving all of her money just decided life was too short and went on a shopping spree. Many others didn't really save. If i had invested then and i sold now, i'll immediately be above my peers that we all seem to be doing the same thing. Imagine if i had continued to be investing tactfully in such kind of estates, i'll be rich in hundreds of millions of naira today and my colleagues would be wondering how i had so much money. This is a true, personal story and another 5 years from now, it's going to be the same stories told all over again. Do you want to be on the 'TESTIMONY' side of the story or the 'REGRET' side of the story. The choice is all yours to make. What you make of this small story of mine will determine a lot what side of the story you'll be in another 3, 5, or 10 years from now. The ball is in your court. Kindly call me for more enlightenment on how to get started. Make your own decision now... Be a Lagos Landlord today. Below is a list of affordable and verifiable properties you can invest in. 1. agarawu23:nice idea but alot can improve, First all the rooms must be cross ventilated secondly you have alot of wasted spaces inside the building which i dont know if its your requirement or design issue but alot better can be done with the spaces between the kitchen and the stairs Thirdly In proportion the dining is way too big in relation with the kitchen and the bedrooms. Fourthly the master bedroom should have bigger space for the room Lastly a lot can be improved upon aesthetically. regards. 1 Like |

EgunMogaji: Haaa! Debowel ke? You are really badt, and to think you want to do it without anaesthesia! ![]() ![]() EgunMogaji: That is the irony of Life! The evil people create horror for others, terrify them day and night, bring tears and sorrow into the life of their innocent Victims, yet Nigeria’s billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike, alias Evans wants to protect himself from invaders! Has he forgotten there is KARMA? But if you look closely, you will notice that the Top of the Gate itself is not protected by the Electric fence! This is the case with almost all Electric Fence protection l have seen and to me, that constitutes a 'point of weakness' because it is said that your Security is only as good as the weakest point". As a matter of fact, when the Police IRT were finding it difficult to gain access into his house at Magodo, one of them climbed the Fence and opened the Gate from the inside! ![]() ![]() On interview, every member of his team, including a COUPLE, the wife is named Ogechi Amadi (she is in-charge of cooking for the Victims, during their period of Capture at their hideout), while the husband is named Uchechukwu Amadi, Native of Anambra State, longtime Evans Boy and head of the detention Camp in Igando. *Felix Chinemerem 36yrs Native of ArichukwuOhafia LGA of Abia State second in command of Evans. * Nwosu Chikodi Chukwuma aka Sudo 42yrs, 3rd in Command to Evans. He has over 20yrs experience in Armed robbery and about 8yrs experience in Kidnapping. * Suoyo Paul aka Nwana 42yrs Native of Bayelsa States Gang member and Supplier of Rifles and Ammunitions to Evans. * Ikenna Emeka 28yrs Native of Anambra State, denounced him! Such is life. The pain and sorrow these people went through, which Six young children of a Govt School in Epe are still going through as of TODAY, is better imagined. BTW: Can the Moderator of this thread explain to us, why he deleted my post? Does it have to do with who the Kidnappers are or is it now a crime to state FACTS in one's post or does the Mod have any interest in protecting the identity of these Kidnappers? I am just asking aloud o. 1 Like |

akinolaolujide:I think it is going to be almost impossible to achieve cross ventilation in all rooms for such design. Considering the fact that the architect is working with land restriction. Just my observation. |
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by akinolaolujide(m): 6:46pm On Jun 13, 2017 |
johnson232:In building design there is always a constraint, the main Place he should work on is the entrance area, where you have the stairs, dining, kitchen, main lounge and the large lobby, the spaces can be better resolve to function better. every additional square metre is about 30-50k in real estate. Lastly the walk in closet on the ground floor can be improved upon the door should be placed in the middle of the space to have wardrobes on both sides. |

ibiboss: Wow!!! I had thought the company would have a better quality than what we have in the open market. The proposal they gave me per sqm early in May was N3400 while I got N3200 in the open market and as advertised here for the Shingles. Pls, let us know if we have something better in terms of pricing and of good quality and dependable. We are looking @ our roofing in another 3 weeks. Lets hope the house can help with useful information too. Thanks |
